Who doesn't love a holiday romance? I love Christmastime so much and couldn't wait to get cozy and read this. This book has enemies to lovers and fake dating. The Naughty or Nice Clause gives hallmark movie romance vibes. Lyla's father retires from his CEO position at the toy company he runs. Lyla is set to inherit his shares and realizes the company is going bankrupt. Her shares go to Mason Klaus an investor. He is the grumpy to Lyla's sunshine.
Thank you to NetGalley for an Arc for my honest review.

Book vibes ~ banterous, cute, frustrating, professional enemies, found family, festive, love story ✨️

This was a fun, interesting read full of festive vibes.

Lyla was quite fun to read & her interactions with Mason went from being fun, to sad, to beautiful & so much more. Lyla herself was an interesting character to read, full of complexity. Mason's character was fascinating as everytime you pull away a layer & learn more about him you enjoy reading his story even more.

On the whole this was an interesting, unique take on a festive romance.

Thank you to Kate Callaghan & the publishers & #NetGalley for the ARC.

I gave this one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s giving hallmark romcom meets The Santa Clause! The plot was really interesting; it took a typical family-oriented girl and big business guy being forced to work together (hellooo enemies to lovers) and through in a bit of a magical twist for this holiday season.

This was a cute, short holiday read but I wouldn't say it was the best holiday read I've read. This is an enemies to lovers romance but I felt that the shift from enemies to lovers was way too abrupt. They didn't build on the MC's characters and why they suddenly were becoming lovers after being enemies for too long. I also thought the ending was a bit too abrupt and would've loved for the author to build more off of it. Again though, if you looking for a quick, cute holiday read, this one still gives you that holiday feel.

When Lyla’s father dies, she expects him to give her the remaining shares in his company however she soon finds out that it has gone bankrupt and he has given his shares to Mason Klaus, an investor who is known for his ruthless ways.

An enemies to lovers, forced proximity, festive read however I did find it a bit hard to connect with the characters but quite enjoyed the plot.

I want to thank Netgalley and the publisher for generously providing me with this book in exchange for an honest review.

Lyla Smurfit has hated Mason Klaus from the moment he took over his half of her family’s failing toy company. Despite his festive name, Klaus is a real Scrooge, and Lyla loses it when she learns he’s cancelled the one thing she’s been looking forward to—the office holiday party.

Lyla decides to throw a secret party as a big ‘screw you’ to Klaus, but things get a little out of hand and a fire breaks out. To make up for the mishap she agrees to spend the holidays with Klaus, acting as a buffer between him and the family who he hasn’t seen in over a decade. Little does Lyla know that Mason Klaus is hiding one big secret—his family is the stuff of legend!

The Naughty or Nice Clause is a cute enemies-to-lovers romance with cozy Hallmark romance movie vibes, and has an interesting twist on the myth of Santa Claus! I think I enjoyed learning about Yule and The Klaus family more than the actual romance tbh.

Thanks to NetGalley and Callaghanwriter for an advanced copy of this book. My opinions are my own and not a paid advertisement.

I was thoroughly surprised with this book! I thought it would be a typical Hallmark grumpy sunshine romance and boy, was I wrong!

I loved the twist on Klaus! It struck me as a different take on the Santa Clause 2 with Tim Allen. Lyla and Mason’s characters were well developed and I especially loved a disability and LGBTQ character included!

4.5 ⭐️!

This was so cute! I feel like many holiday books are about an unexpected romance, typically enemy to lovers setting which is what this was. However, I LOVED the not stereotypical small town romance, but instead was a big city with not just going to a hometown, but going directly to the North Pole. I read this as my kick of to Christmas reads and I’m so glad I did!

This one wasn't for me. It seems to be trying to be a 'billionaire romance' but then throws in some magic that just didn't really work. It starts with building up this really unlikeable MMC, but very quickly we're expected to side with him without being shown why.
I can see what the author was trying to do, but for me, it just didn't work.

This one just wasn't for me, unfortunately. I couldn't get into the story. I really struggled with wanting to read this.

I did not end up finishing this book. It just wasn’t what I was wanting at the time, and I didn’t really vibe with the story

Mason and Lyla aren't on the best terms. As co-owners of a toy company that's going under, it's hard to raise morale. So Lyla is determined to throw the annual Christmas party, even after Mason canceled it. However, things with the party go south when a big fire ends up damaging a lot of the company. Unfortunately for Lyla, her company doesn't have the money for repairs. Mason offers to help with costs IF Lyla spends some time with him and his family, but things get a little more complicated during the trip.
This book was just ok. I was not a big fan of Mason. I found him to be a really toxic guy and it was really hard to connect with him as a reader. I also think that my dislike for Mason made it difficult to latch on to the romance in the book. It really fell flat for me and seemed a little too unbelievable. The book was fairly predictable, but I do think that it had cute moments and I could see where other readers would enjoy this story more. However, it just didn't quite hit for me.

This is new to me author so I was not sure what to expect and the chaos and animosity Mason and Lyla have towards each other seems insurmountable.

Then Mason rings this magical golden bell and transports them to literally a Winter Wonderland.

I fell in love with the town of Yule and hope the author will turn this into a series.

Thank you NetGalley for ARC. All opinions are my own.

When I ifinished it, I didn't have any major complaints about this book. But it's got a lot of rough plot points which don't feel like they were given nearly enough attention.

It's a nice feel-good novel to speed through. The story setting is also cute, from the North Pole to the Christmas spirit which permeates most of the book.

I'm thankful to the publishers for providing me an ARC via Netgalley so I could provide my honest feedback.

Fantastic story. I bought the hardback straight from the author last year, as soon as I read the arc. Would definitely recommend for this upcoming Xmas season, specially if you like Hallmark movies. It is magical and funny. 10/10

Fake dating enemies to lovers holiday perfection with a good dose of emotional depth! This was my first book by indie author, Kate Callaghan and definitely won't be my last! I'm excited to read whatever she writes next. Many thanks to NetGalley and the author for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

The Naughty or Nice Clause was a fun holiday surprise. Callaghan's writing is so straightforward that you feel like you are right there at the Christmas party gone horribly wrong. I loved every minute of the work dynamics, magic to a holiday wonderland and the chemistry between our two main characters. Fun and quick holiday read!

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC.

At first I didn't understand anything, it was a bit confusing for me because they went from one place to another in a very strange way. As it progressed and everything was explained, I understood the plot better and I was able to enjoy it much more than in the first episodes.

I don't think it's a bad book, not at all, in fact I quite like the feeling of union between the people in Yule and the whole story of what is done in the factory with the dust system, but there is a lack of chemistry between the characters for me. There's a large part that is fake dating and it's a trope that I love, but when they progress romantically speaking, I don't really connected with them. Also, the end seemed very fast for the potential it has.

I loved the grumpy/sunshine aspect of this book. The characters were well written and it is clear that a lot of thought had been put into their development. I really enjoyed the storyline and found myself laughing throughout it this book. A brilliant festive read, will definitely recommend.
