As a School Counselor and a mother of young children, I really appreciated this book and all of it's fun ideas for mindful activities. I am going to buy the book and use it in my practice and at home.

This author starts out by giving great detail on definitions to play therapy and mindfulness and also the why behind it and its importance, which I think sets an excellent foundation for readers right off the bat. I also think the activities in the book are great that I used them with my 3 and 5-year boys. The only improvement that would have helped would have been some illustrations to go along with the instructions or links to youtube videos for some of the activities (ex., Butterfly Hug is the only one I can think of that I had a bit of trouble with as most were explained very well in the book).

Thank you to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

As a former teacher, I recommend this to any educator, parents a d anyone who works with children. This book really helps giving tools to help with socio-emotional development. So many children are lacking this and some grow up without these tools or demonstrated to them. I feel it can lead to struggling as adults with daily life and mental health issues.

My daughter has a few we sensory challenges , so I was immediately drawn to this book. I struggle with teaching her coping mechanisms to handle her overwhelm and based on my experience with anxiety I felt that mindfulness would help her. I really loved how the different exercises were set up and easy to understand. I plan on getting a paper copy of this book so that I can keep it ha sy and practice as needed.

I have a nephew who is showing anxiety and I requested this to learn more ways to help him. It was very clear and a good reference going forward and I'm excited to incorporate some of these things into the time I get to spend with him.

3.5 stars // This book intrigued me because I have a son with autism who frequently struggles with emotional regulation and I'm always looking for new techniques to help him. I scanned through all of the activities and am impressed with the variety and depth they provide! I am definitely happy to have this on hand in my toolbelt.

Mindfulness is an important skill not only for adults but also, for children. Engaging in mindfulness activities has been proven to improve self-control, mental flexibility, concentration, and overall well-being. Therefore, it is an important skill to impart to our youngsters, as we are seeing high incidence of anxiety and depression in children and teens. This book is a valuable resource with easy to follow instructions on how to engage in mindfulness based activities during play. Each activity provides clear instructions on the benefits of the activity, materials required for the activity, and how to complete the activity. I highly recommend this book to educators, and parents! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance review copy in exchange for my honest review.

I love this book! I am going to buy a copy so I can highlight different parts. I love that it breaks down what mindfulness is and how to really incorporate it into your life and life with children. I love the activities in this book.

Every parent needs a copy of this book - it is truly a lifesaving guide to help caregivers connect with their children through play and mindfulness. The book offers practical, accessible activities for caregivers to connect with their children. Each activity is clearly explained with easy to follow steps and suggestions. This book has allowed me to build a connection with my toddler - our favorite activities so far are hugging the world (to build self-compassion) and notice mind (to help develop focus). I have previously read books on how to teach children yoga, but this approach is much easier - it allows you to play with your child while building their resiliency, focus and self-regulation skills. Some of the activities could also be used for older children and teenagers (or parents themselves!). Many of the activities could be incorporated for babies as well (for example singing during routine changes, breathing together). For a couple of activities, some basic knowledge of yoga is helpful but not required (for example, how to do a sun salutation). I highly recommend this book - it has made me a better parent!
