End of the world and after the disaster books hold a certain fascination to me. Life as we know it can change in an instant as it does for the characters in Grace Hamilton's series. I have read alot of her books and they are all fresh, no retelling the same story over and over. The fact that she can write so many unique versions of a catastrophe means I am well educated on how to get from point a to point b before, during and after an event.

I'm not quite sure how Grace Hamilton manages to keep her stories fresh and her characters realistic, but as long as she keeps writing them, I'll keep reading them.

For apocalyptic fiction, Grace Hamilton is among the best. This is no exception and I can't wait for more!

This book #3 in the series picks up where the last book left off with Laurel at Lone Oak hospital with Arlo and his son Liam, trying to get treatment for his cancer. Through working together to survive, Laurel has gone from Arlo's hostage to his friend. But can she convince him to leave the safety of Lone Oak to return to South Mineha where her mother and friends are depending on her return?
Meanwhile, Bear and Trent have reached South Mineha only to find Laurel gone. He helps them to prepare for the coming blizzard but then must make a choice... stay and weather out the storm or continue on in his search for his wife. Enemies he's made along the way stalk his every move and he'll have to rely on his military experience and a little luck in order to survive.
I'm so excited that the reunion I've been waiting for finally happened, but the relationship is tense and strained. This book was full of action between fighting the elements and the enemies following them. I can't wait for the next book to see how Bear and Laurel work things out!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Dangerous World by Grace Hamilton.
EMP Aftermath #3.
Laurel has found a safe haven at Lone Oak Hospital. But her loved ones are still back at South Minneha, and her mother desperately needs her. Winter has blanketed the city in impenetrable layers of snow making any chance of returning to her hospital on foot almost impossible. Then disaster strikes Lone Oak Hospital and, in order to survive, Laurel must venture out into the harsh Minnesota winter, and risk everything in a world gone dark and cold.Meanwhile, Bear has reached South Minneha, only to find Laurel gone. As the temperature plummets, he struggles to keep the other survivors from freezing to death in the brutal cold. And when the blizzard finally lets up, he faces a difficult choice: leave now to search for Laurel, or risk being snowed in until spring.
A brilliant read. I love this series. 5*.

This is another great installment in the already addictive and brilliant EMP Aftermath series!
Both this book and the series so far are packed with action, adventure & emotions galore.
I really loved the short but sweet introduction to Mae.
I am certainly looking forward to reading more!
There were lots and lots of 'endings' but lots of potential for how the series could continue.
I love the way you are immediately pulled back into the world and turmoil created by Grace Hamilton. It doesn't really matter how long ago you read the previous book, you slide right back into the story as though you had never left it. The way Grace writes makes it very easy to visualise the book, so its kind of like watching a movie in your own head as you are reading the book.

Once you start reading you really won't want to stop!!
