I struggled with this book. While I had not previously read anything by this author, I was drawn to it because of the era, but it just didn't capture my attention. I couldn't connect with the characters, which always makes a book difficult for me to invest myself in, and I found the plot hard to follow.

The author captured the feelings and emotions of the characters beautifully and drew the reader into the story right from beginning of the book. It felt very true to life at the time.

The authors way of clever character building only adds to the storyline of this book.
She does a good job mingling love and mystery and a little suspense with not knowing what to expect next.
