Lynette Eason has proven once again that she is the queen of suspenseful Christian fiction. Where do I even start? This is the third book in the Extreme Measures series. Don't worry if you haven't read the first two books; this one does fine as a stand alone novel.

The main character is Special Agent Grace Billingsley. She is called into a case as a behavioral analyst and finds herself in the cross-hairs of a serial killer. During the investigations into multiple murders she meets prison psychiatrist Sam Monroe. Both Grace and Sam are carrying heavy baggage from previous life experiences. Grace introduced her brother to drugs as a rebellious teenager and he is now an addict spiraling out of control. The guilt she feels after all these years is nothing compared to the guilt her parents continue to heap on her head. Sam's father is in prison for murder and Sam has spent his entire life proving to himself and others that he is nothing like him.

These two damaged, but strong people feel an attraction for each other and are continually thrown together to stop a killer. Read along as they unravel the clues that will lead them to the person before he or she chooses another victim.

I thought Critical Threat was a great read! I loved the characters of Grace, Sam, and their families. Eason provides a heart-stopping plot, light romance, and characters who trust in God.

The third book in the Extreme Measures series did not disappoint! From the opening pages, you are taken on a wild, action packed ride of danger, mystery, and romance. It if full of twists and turns to keep you guessing until the very end.

Grace and Sam are a lot alike. Both are trying to come to terms with their pasts that are bleeding into the present. Together, they work together to find a serial killer before he finds his next victim. As the serial killer sets his sights on Grace, Sam must face his past head on to stop him before it is too late.

This has been my favorite book of the series! I found this book hard to put down and hated to see it end. It is definitely a must read.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are completely my own.

Critical Threat is a clean fast-paced romantic suspense. We follow FBI profiler extraordinaire Grace Billingsley as she races against the clock to catch a serial killer targeting women. Along the way, Grace finds romance with prison psychiatrist Sam Monroe. Their paths intertwine as the chase ensues. The victims, the copycat serial killer, the past…it’s like a web with all of the pieces somehow connected.

The third book in the Extreme Measures series can be read as a stand-alone. It was my first Eason book, and I enjoyed it. The action kept me at the edge of my seat while the profiling process kept me completely engaged. At times it felt like watching a true crime special. I am glad I ventured out of my normal genres.

Thank you Revell, NetGalley, and Lynette Eason for this ARC.

So good!!! There were so many twists and turns and surprises. Serial killer stories are always creepy; this one was a little extra. The descriptions of what the killer did to the bodies made me squirm, not because it was graphic, but even in just simply stating it, it was really disturbing.

Sam's story line was mixed for me. I really liked getting his perspective and his family was awesome, but I felt like it took away from us getting to know Grace. I would have liked more background on her, especially her time in juvie with the other girls. And I wish her friends could have featured a bit more prominently.

The connections made at the end still have my head spinning. I really had no suspect until they were revealed. It was sort of a case of "well, that person is suspicious" but I didn't really have a reason to think so and wrote it off. Unless I missed something, I think there was one loose thread when it comes to the killer's victims, but that is not a huge deal for me.

This book was fascinating and I really enjoyed it. I also liked that things were left in the exploration stage with Grace and Sam. Too many books jump ahead and I enjoy the few that let people just get to know each other.

Oooh! And I almost forgot my favorite Easter egg - Daria! She's not really in the book, just mentioned, but that girl gets around! I really like her character so any time she shows up, I'm here for it.

A morning as usual reading the latest information on new crimes, linking
with old crimes and missing persons. As this stand alone story is about.
Agent Grace was a psychiatrist as was Sam a prison psychologist, they met
before, it was awkward. As it is now with the information of the serial killer
similar to his father. To work together on the case.
The unity of trouble in their families they both knew. Forgiveness is wanted
for what happened before, can they learn and except it for themselves.
She is a strong female to do her job even when assaulted many times.
A gripping plot that moves swiftly, more dark then her usual plots.
The romance and his children, gave a family touch to the story
Given ARC by Net Galley and Revell for my voluntary review and my
honest opinion

Thank you for the opportunity to read this newest story early. As expected, it did not disappoint! Just enough mystery to keep me guessing, with enough faith to keep it uplifting.

"Critical Threat" is a romantic suspense. This is the 3rd novel in a series, but it works as a stand alone novel. Grace went through a rebellious period as a teenager and introduced her brother to weed. Now he's a drug addict. She and her parents blame her for his getting started with drugs. She had to deal with this issue while she worked on the serial killer case by viewing the crime scenes and interviewing people to create a profile. Sam was brought in because of similarities to the killings his father committed; is his father somehow involved despite being in prison?

The main characters were engaging, complex, capable, and reacted realistically to events. They had personal issues to deal with in addition to helping narrow down who was the killer. The suspense was high throughout as not only were more women potentially in danger from the killer but Grace was repeatedly assaulted by the killer. He was obsessed with what she said to him (too quietly for him to hear) when she found a recording device at a crime scene. I always appreciate when the female main characters actively contribute toward their own rescue or the rescue of others, and Grace was good at this while still appreciative of help from Sam and her teammates. Grace and Sam enjoyed spending time together and respected each other.

The Christian element was about forgiveness. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this exciting story.

Grace Billingsly is a behavior analyst for the FBI working a serial killer case that has some eerie similarities to a case that ties back closely to Sam Monroe, a prison psychiatrist. Together, Grace and Sam have to track down the killer before he can take any more lives. While solving several murders is the main plot of the story, there is a the theme that we aren't responsible for other people's actions. It's a lesson that both Grace and Sam have to learn.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. The pacing was quick enough to keep your attention, but it didn't move at such a breakneck speed that you couldn't keep up with it. The plot was intriguing and not as disturbing as I would have thought it would have been considering it's about...well...ya know, a serial killer.

Grace and Sam's relationship may probably be my favorite in the series. It definitely wasn't quite as insta-lovey as I feel like Julianna and Clay's was. It was understated and didn't completely overshadow the rest of the story.

Overall, a solid showing by Lynette Eason.

I enjoy the premise of this series. 4 girls who met in juvie, cleaned up their act with the help of the help of an amazing lady (her story should be a prequel to this series!), I really like Lynette Eason's books and recommend all the previous ones I have read. I found this one a little darker (which I do not like!) and I had trouble connecting with the characters. I still plan to read the 4th in the series.

If you enjoy an action filled fast paced read, this one hit that mark! From beginning to end this book had me page turning as fast as I could read!

Now this is the third book in this series, and yes, they are all as great as this one, but this can be read alone!

As we get into the case where a serial killer is targeting older women, we are with these FBI Specialists Grace and Peter, and really end up spending a lot of time together!

This read will keep you up late, and you won't know how it is all going to end until the last page is turned! Loved that there is an epilogue!

Teaser that there could be a fourth book coming! Yes!

Suspense at its best!

I received this book through the Publisher Bethany House, and was not required to give a positive review.

Grace Billingsley is after a serial killer. Sam Monroe is the son of one of the most notorious serial killers known. Now this new serial killer has Grace in his sight. Sam is worried that this killer may be a copycat of his father. Will they find the killer before he strikes again? Or before he gets to Grace?

Critical Threat was extremely suspenseful and had me biting my nails as I read! I found book 3 to be a bit different than the first two in the series. I don't know if it was because it was more suspenseful to me or if it was written differently. It seemed a bit darker as well. I liked both Grace and Sam's back stories. I don't know if their romance worked for me, but I did like how Grace cared for Sam's kids. An exciting addition to the series and I definitely will be reading the next one in the series when it comes out!

This is book three in the Extreme Measures series. Each one can be read as a standalone, although I highly recommend reading them all, so you don’t miss anything. Book 3, kept me on the edge of my seat as did the first two.

This is a riveting, compelling suspense thriller right from the beginning to the very end. It has some familiar characters, such as FBI Agent, Grace Billingsley, along with some new ones – all so very well developed, it is easy to get so engrossed in their story, it’s easy to forget they aren’t real.

There is a serial killer that is targeting older women, and apparently keeping them alive for a few days and then places their bodies in a park to be found easily. There are distinct similarities in each case, so Grace who is a trained profiler, has been recruited, along with Sam Monroe, a psychiatrist who works at the prison. Sam joins the team to add his expertise since his own father was a serial killer, serving a life sentence.

This is a well-written, captivating story, with an intriguing cast of characters. When the last page was turned, I continued to think about it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Revell for a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed and comments are my own.

Loved this third book in the 'Extreme Measures' series. I kept reading until I'd reached the end because this book kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next and sort out the mystery of the series. The murderer wasn't obvious and in many ways, this was a plus because you could figure out the story with the characters.

I liked the main characters and I think that most people can understand their guilt for things in the past. This was a main theme throughout the book, dealing with guilt. It was interesting seeing how it played out in their lives and hearing their discussions about it.

I receive complimentary books for various sources including, Netgalley, Authors, and other such sources. I am not required to write a positive review and have not received compensation.

The third book in the Extreme Measures series brings Grace and Sam together as they race to find a serial killer. As a psychologist with a serial killer father, will Sam be able to help Grace analyze the killer's mind to help. With many similarities between Sam's father's victims and the recent killings the mystery deepens. How can Sam's father be part of the murders since he's locked in prison? Many twists and turns will keep readers guessing. Recommended!

Lynette Eason knows suspense. In this third book in her Extreme Measures series, she takes her readers on a wild, action-packed ride that twists and turns like crazy. Getting a glimpse inside the mind of a serial killer is a rough thing to see. Then there are all the surprises that keep popping up along the way. Totally riveting and attention grabbing, this one is for the keeper shelf.

My thanks to Revell Publishing for a copy of this book via Net Galley. The opinion here is my own.
