This was a fun read that I am glad I picked up. Jess Ryder is a new author to me, and I will definitely be on the lookout for future books from her. Would recommend to others!

The premise of My Husband's Lover was good, the setting was very well done and the book had a lot of potential for some great suspense. But the plot meandered around without much direction after the first half and the momentum started to wane, along with my interest in the story.. this was mostly due to the characters, nnone of which I particularly geled with.

I was so lucky to be given an advance copy of My Husband's Lover by Jess Ryder from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. Holy cow there were so many secrets and twists, and turns through out this book! This book sucked me in from page 1 and kept me engrossed until the very end. This was a page turner.

Sophie is a member of a small group of women who have formed a wild water swimming club, Sophie is still coming to terms with the fact that her husband Ryan has had an affair. They decide to stay together for the sake of the children and the swimming club has helped Sophie. The group decide to go away and travel for a break in a secluded cottage in Scotland with no electricity or running water. Sophie shows Ryan and picture of the group and he tells her that the woman he had the affair with is a member of the group but he refuses to name her. So Sophie’s break is far from relaxing as she tries to work out which of the women it is. The story is told from Sophie’s perspective and from the mysterious ‘swimmer’. This is a tense thriller as there are so many secrets and to be revealed but the author conceals her identity as the tension builds. The book has a few great twists and a surprise ending. A highly enjoyable read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Another domestic thriller with a cheating husband. It was OK. Not really that appealing but not too bad. Thanks Netgalley for the ARC!

I wasn't a great fan of this one. Though the premise was quite interesting, and a mystery set in Switzerland promised to be engaging, I found that the plot dragged quite a bit and failed to hold my interest.

Set in the stunning Scottish countryside, you are in for a treat with this twisty who is it thriller! It gets you hooked from the first few pages for sure!

The main character Sophie is going on a holiday with her friends to Scotland. They are looking forward to chilling out and relaxing. What her friends don’t know is that Sophie is watching all of them and trying to figure out which one of them is her husband’s lover!

Full of secrets, lies and lots of suspense! Highly recommended if you have a few hours to spare!

Now on paper this should tick all the boxes for me and the first half of the book I absolutely loved. So my rating is 3.5. Towards the end I had so many questions and felt that I didnt know enough re the reasons why things happened and the ending felt rushed.

I normally love a book by a Jess Ryder.

What I did love was the the descriptions of wild swimming, I am about to join my friends in this and from reading their facebook posts Jess has summarised it really well.

I was given a free copy by the publishers and netgalley but the review is entirely my own.

This wasn't one for me, I had a hard time with the writing and didn't even want to finish it. I found it to be predictable and wouldn't class as a thriller. This was a no thank you from me.

Having read and loved a fair few of this authors books, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I would want to read her latest book Her Husband’s Lover.

The story plot was so well written that it had me sitting on the edge of my seat in eager anticipation as to what would happen next and I was forever guessing throughout as to how it would all end. I never did guess correctly thanks to the little twists and turns that were cleverly woven into the story. And that ending, pretty brilliant and completely unexpected.

I found majority of the characters highly engaging and well developed throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each of the characters that were members of the swimmers club, I spent majority of the story trying to figure out which of the members could be trusted, who were lying and who was there under false pretence. I liked how their were a couple of sub backing stories in addition to the main story, which is where the little twists and turns come into play and leave you guessing even more.

It was full on entertaining with a fair few intense moments throughout.

This is a good book, good plot, great characters and a solid mystery. I found the situation a bit far fetched but it’s good escapism.

I found this book engaged me from the start as I was constantly wondering who the ‘swimmer’ was and I found the concept very interesting. I found that it was a little bit far fetched that a group of individuals would go away with eachother, and the situation that they were in.

Despite that it was easy to read and I remained interesting because of the different chapters changing perspective which was good. I’d be interested to read another book by this author in the future.

This is a domestic thriller with a lot of twists and turns. The basic plot is about a woman whose husband has an affair and she starts a swimming club to clear her thoughts and try to make sense of her new life. The group swims all year round and has about six members who become friends and decide to take their swim group on the road to a remote area of Scotland to swim in lochs. It's an intriguing premise and I don't want to spoil any of the twists but, believe me, there are plenty. And for the most part, they are believable and the reader is along for the ride. Nice setting, nice plot, good characters, decent writing--recommended for sure!

Thank you Bookouture, NetGalley, and Jess Ryder for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely loved this book! It is well-written and moves a a good pace.

The setting of this book was beautiful - I loved all the strong imagery and beautiful descriptions of the landscape. I felt like I had been transported right into the setting. Jess Ryder filled this book with a lot of great twists and turns. Remote getaway thrillers are often over-done and redundant, but Jess delivered a book with a very fresh take!

I am excited to read more from Jess Ryder!

British Mysteries are quickly becoming my new favorite book. Overall, I enjoyed this book. It was predictable in the beginning and there was a bit of a twist towards the end. I had to keep in mind that this is a work of fiction because there were some things that I was like that would never have acted that way if that was me. I can't really say much without giving away some spoilers but if you like some twisty mysteries, then I would recommend this book

My Husband's Lover by Jess Ryder is a look at deception from so many points of view. This takes a tragic event where many have been touched by the person of this event and how it impacts all of them.

The author creates a guessing game of who is who and why it all is happening. We also have the guessing game of who is hiding what and for how long.

Interesting.
