WoW! Nail-bitting and suspenseful in the best way possible!

I've read and loved Ryder's last two books. When I seen her newest novel I knew it was bound to be a spectacular story.

A group of friends escape to a remote Scottish hideaway.
A swimming trip in Scotland is just what they all so desperately need!
Sophie is married to Ryan and from the outside looking in they seem to have it all!
But here lately they've been having some problems!
The girls go away on a much needed break, where they can swim all morning, walk on the beaches and drink wine every night by a fire and share stories.
On the outside Sophie is all smiles, but deep inside she is fuming.
One of her friends is having an affair with her husband.
Which one is it? It's only a matter of time before she uncovers the truth as to which friend is her husband's lover. The mistress thinks she has fooled Sophie, but she's not the only one who's keeping secrets!
And this remote trip away is just what Sophie needs to make someone pay for their lies!

A wife. A mistress. A week away with no escape…

Woah!
My Husband's Lover by Jess Ryder was twisty, juicy, and an addictive page turner.
Ryder has done a superb job with this mystery/thriller.
The characters are believable, if not all likable. But very intriguing.
They were flawed but likable.
With tension amping up each chapter I was flipping like a crazy person!
And I couldn't read fast enough. Like it's that damn good.
I was immediately hooked to the story, excited and ready to see what transpired next.
Secrets and betrayals coming from everywhere.
This book was fast paced and kept me engaged
The plot smartly twists, then turns and ends amazingly.
A truly gripping psychological thriller of secrets, lies, manipulation and betrayal!
My Husband's Lover will have you hooked until the very end.

If you want a gripping thriller that will keep you guessing almost until the very end look no further that My Husbands Lover - out soon! October 14th :) This was a new to me author, and I am always so happy when I take a chance and it works out so lovely 🙂

Sophie is a mid to late thirty something with a cheating husband and two kids. She sets up a local swimming group that takes dips in freezing cold water once a week. Things are fine until they decided to venture to a freezing isolated area of the Scottish hills for a holiday. Before they leave Sophie learns that her husband's mistress is one of the women in her group. Shaken, Sophie is still determined to have a good holiday. However, there is a strange man stalking them, then Sophie has a near death experience, and a dead body is found in the loc. Scared and isolated Sophie begins to wonder if she will make it out of this remote location alive.

This book was fun because while I love swimming, I don't think submerging myself in ice cold water is for me. I thought it was a fun premise for the book though! I enjoyed the characters, and this book kept me guessing until the end. I particularly enjoyed the "swimmers" POV chapters, and I do with there were more of those. I gave this one a solid 4 out of 5 stars and would definitely recommend it to others!

I’d like to extend my thanks to @netgalley and the publisher, bookouture, @bookouture, an advanced e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, this book was a page turner!

Sophie started a wild swimming group to help with her peace of mind after learning that her husband had cheated on her. The group decides to go on a getaway to a remote cabin in Scotland to swim in the lochs and enjoy a digital detox. On the way to the cabin Sophie’s husband calls and tells her that the woman he had an affair with is in her swim group and could be dangerous. Sophie is left reeling and has to figure out who the woman is and why she is now stalking her.

This tale of deception has plenty of action, realistic dialogue, and intriguing characters. It was gripping and kept me hooked until the ending, with plenty of twists that I didn’t see coming.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest feedback!

On the inside title page, My Husband’s Lover is described as an “unputdownable psychological thriller with a breathtaking twist”. That’s pretty accurate. Just when I thought I’d figured it out there was another “whoa!! moment”. I loved the original storyline and the short, fast paced chapters. I was up into the wee hours of the morning to finish it…….unputdownable!
Thank You to Bookouture, NetGalley and Jess Ryder for the opportunity to devour this ARC

What a fun wee spin on the traditional domestic noir! This was such a breath if fresh air from the start and I loved every second. I was absolutely hooked. It keeps up the lace throughout n I loved the charters, even if they were incredibly frustrating at time. A really easy and enjoyable read

I enjoyed reading this book. I thought the premise of Sophie going on a trip away with her husband's mistress was really intriguing and I was looking forward to seeing how it would all play out.

Sophie's husband Ryan was a very frustrating character to read about - a sign that he was written well! A couple of the women in the swimming group could have been fleshed out a bit more in my opinion, they were devoid of any personality.

The pacing of the book was good and I found the ending satisfying.

This was a good read for me. Sophie starts a swimming group to deal with her own personal problems. Little does she know, there is danger lurking within her group. Overall, I thought this was an engaging story with a domestic slant. Recommended.

This is an awesome page turner that sucks you in from the beginning. It's a thrilling mystery with so many twists and unexpected turns I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride. This is the first book I have read from this author and it definitely won't be the last. The plot is every women's worst nightmare.

I big fan of this author and she never disapoints as always twisty and addictive read. Sophie is married to Ryan they have two children. but Ryan had an affair he says meant nothing. Sophie has a swimming club where they go cold swimming in lakes they all get on very well so they decide to go to Scotland to a cottage no wifi no heating no electricity. but Sophie and Ryan have there own secrets. Sophie shows Ryan a group photo and he goes white and storms out. what Sophie does not know is that she going on a break with Ryans lover who is she and why is she targeting Sophie a very good gripping read

Oh I loved this book from the very first page. Well lets be honest I loved this book well before the very first page. I was drawn in by the synopsis. And boy did this story deliver!

What is not to love about this book:
The setting is amazing! Such an atmospheric setting in the Scottish wilderness. I as a reader wanted to be there and at the same time I wanted to run away from it as fast as possible.

The set up of the story was also new and refreshing. I have never read a book about wild water swimming and the bonding of woman over this activity. It was very clear that Jess Ryder did the necessary research on the topic and I really like that!

The plot was very well constructed and as a reader you were kept in the dark most of the time. This helped to really feel for the main character Sophie, because you really felt her confusion and the mood-swings while you were reading. I will admit that some of the twists and turns were very predictable, but the ultimate villain in the story was a huge surprise for me.

I loved the chapters that were written from the swimmers perspective. And I still cant believe that I didn't figure out who she was.

Absolutely loved the story and cant wait to read more of Jess Ryder!

My Husband’s Lover by Jess Ryder
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
📖 Sophie and Ryan have a rocky marriage after Ryan admits to cheating. Sophie soon finds out that he’s been cheating with one of 5 women that are in her swim group. And when they go on a girls’ trip together, she has to figure out who has been sleeping with her husband!
This is an awesome suspense novel with a lot of jaw dropping secrets and reveals. It kept me engaged and I sped through reading it as I wanted to know the whole story. Nothing is at it seems and isn’t that always the best plot? I definitely recommend this one!

My husband cheated on me. It still hurts, but I'm trying to forgive him for the sake of our kids. I need this break, away from it all, with my girlfriends from the wild swimming group. They've been my lifeline there last few months. But on the way up to Scotland my husband calls me with a shocking confession. His mistress is on the trip. He won't tell me which of my friends it is, just begs me to come home. But I ignore him. And as the candlelight flickers on the walls of our remote hideaway, I watch my friends closely as they sip their wine and laugh. Someone is hiding something; I need to know who.

Set in Scotland, this gripping thriller had me hooked from the first page and held my attention throughout. It's descriptively written with lots of twists and turns. to keep us guessing. We get the points of view from two characters - the first being Sophie, the second person we only know as "the swimmer," the person who is having an affair with Sophie's husband. The pace is steady throughout. This is a story of deception and revenge, and it has a shocking ending. I would like to thank #NetGalley #Bookouture and the author #JessRyder for my ARC of #MyHusbandsLover in exchange for an honest review.

Exciting thriller;
I hadn't read anything by this author before and was pleasantly surprised. The story is told from the perspective of Sophie and the lover of her husband. Thanks to these changes of perspective the story is told very well and the tension is skillfully built up. Sophie suspects the danger, but hasn't been able to pin down this feeling to facts for a long time. Her husband is a weak personality and this is what makes the lover a real danger as a stalker. The setting on a lonely lake in the middle of natu-re is well chosen and believable. The characters are psychologically sophisticated and complex. They always seemed credible to me. Despite surprising twists and turns, I still missed a little more action for five stars. But even so, the book was easy to read and very exciting.

I've read "The Second Marriage" by Jess Ryder and thought it was an engrossing and twisty book. Thanks to its blurb, I was expecting a fast-paced tale of scheming women but this book didn't live up to my expectations.

While there was plenty of mystery and some twists towards the end, the pace put me off and I almost DNF-ed it. I felt it was somewhat of a hot mess with the writing being drawn out and erratic.

Nonetheless, it had me reading for hours together. Overall, an okay thriller that could have been much better.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the e-copy.
