Confusing and chaotic. While it can be great to throw a reader directly into the story from the very start, it can also be overwhelming. I felt like I could never really connect with any of the characters or care about the plot because I was so battered about by the narrative style. Just not for me
I struggle with believability with this one. The narrative style, while not my favorite, is understandable given the age of the protagonist. And the plot is mostly sensible - a mystery at school and at home. It's the final resolution that really stretches my willingness to believe.
This book is a wild ride! Told from the point of view of Cym, a middle school soccer player with a unique view of the world. Somehow this unlikely narrator finds himself in the middle of several mysteries. And because he cares so much about his best friends and their families (more than he cares about FOOTBALL ⚽️ if you can believe it), he finds a way to discover the truth.
Is it believable? Cym would say it is! Kids are absolutely going to love it.
