I am not usually a fan of Gothic stories, but Kathryn kept my attention with this story! It was well written, some very intersting characters, unusual title, and some historical facts about the superstitions of that time.
This is Paris's son, Hermes de Norville's and Catrine de la Pare's love story! I am constantly amazed by the facts and ideas Kathryn includes in her stories! You don't want to miss this one.

What a remarkable tale of one man's search for redemption that leads to the love of a lifetime.
Hermes de Norville dwells in a deep depression after the death of his wife in childbirth. His family is not only the House of de Norville, but also the House of de Wolfe. Strange happenings are going on in the village where he passes the time drunk. He keeps having a recurring dream of a women he is never able to save from death. To save the woman of his dreams and her brother, he will face the evil and destroy it. A knight returns to the living and finds love. Wonderful.

A Medieval Gothic Romance
This is a delightful tale about two people who desperately needed each other. Catrine was trapped in a castle, haunted by evil. Hermes was trapped in a nightmare of his own making, haunted by a painful past. Could they save one another from the hell in which they find themselves? She needed his strength, and he needed her love. Their path would not be an easy one. It would take much courage, strength, and love. The evil they were facing was monstrous, indeed. I thoroughly enjoyed this haunting, Gothic, and romantic tale. I would recommend it to those who like medieval Gothic romance, full of mystery, secrets, and legends. The story kept me turning the pages, from beginning to end.

I love gothic stories and this one pulls all the wonderful mystery, intrigue and romance that you will ever want! Perfect for this time of year when fall is slowly creeping in!
A wounded soul, Hermes is drowning his misery in drink when a lady needs his help and the story begins!!
Named "The Angel of Death", Lady Catrine has a spooky castle, where evil hovers and she and her brother need Hermes help. Luckily it gives him a purpose, but you will just have to read and see what happens!!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Hermes de Norville rides into the village at the base of the Castle Draygon, a castle layered with mystery, secrets and danger. I love that Hermes is a healer, who tries to save lives, but he was unable to save his wife in childbirth and the young woman in his nightmares he couldn’t save either. Catrine de la Pare has lived in fear most of her life, the villagers as the Angel of Death and right now she needs a knight in shiny armor. Her life has been nothing, but curses and superstition and she will not anyone to get too close to her or come to care for them. Hermes seem drawn to her, her plight, her presence, there’s just something about her that continues to bring him back again and again to get to know her better. This is an emotional story of with superstitions centered at the castle and its inhabitants. Will their new relationship survive all the curses and superstitions surrounding them? Will their love be strong enough to pull them through this mysterious and romantic gothic story just in time for All Hallows Eve? I voluntarily read and reviewed the book.

An exciting gothic novella that I really wish had been a full length novel, however I do understand why it isn't.
Castle of Bones is a great story and a fast read just in time for All Hallows Eve. I found myself truly rooting for all 4 main characters. I loved the twist, I didn't see that coming.
I was sorry to see the story end and look forward to seeing them in my future reads.

In this suspenseful but sad romance, Hermes de Norville is driven by grief after the death of his wife, losing himself in tankards of ale without finding the solution he needs. That is until Lady Catrine is dragged into the tavern, with her life obviously in peril. Stepping into the fray Hermes negotiates a deal with the villagers. Braving Castle Draygon and its gruesome facade, Hermes discovers that there is much more at play than he could ever have anticipated. Nevertheless, the fear in the young woman's eyes drives him on. Discovering that he has allies that will give him the answers he needs, Hermes not only wins the young lady's heart but brings hope and healing to her family. If only they can conquer the evil within. I received a copy of this enthralling Gothic romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

A dream, a woman in his dream and he is never able to save her from death. Hermes de Norville could never quite understand the dream or why it kept repeating. He had been running from life since the death of his wife after the birth of their children. When he rescues a damsel in distress, he unwittingly releases the evil in the castle. A castle with walls of bones. While Lady Ana Paloma Catrine de la Pare is grateful for his timely rescue, she also knows that now her life can never return to what was her normal and that Hermes is to be a part of her new one. But the Dragon in the castle refuses to release his grip on her and her brother. Is there a fight to the death? If so, whose?
This fast paced fun spooky read ended a little too soon for me!

Creepy title, spooky story, brilliant characters, very well written, excellent.
So good to read about Paris’s sons at last.
Hermes has had lots to contend with, pain, loss, his wife died in childbirth, though a healer he couldn’t save her.
Now his journey takes him to Castle Draygon.
The name would keep me away, but not our hero.
Here he meets the woman who he both needs to save and saves him in return, Catrine .
A brilliant story to tickle those parts entertained by the spooky side of you.
Loved it
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

A cautionary tale of superstition and mind-control
Hermes travels through a small town just as the villagers have captured a young woman they call the "Angel of Death." Catrine needs rescuing, but she absolutely cannot allow anyone to get close enough to her to start asking questions. Of course, Hermes has nothing but questions.
Catrine's family story is fraught with terror, curses, and superstition. She and her brother have a very long journey ahead of them to come out of the darkness they've lived in for so long and into the light of truth. Hermes feels a connection to Catrine and is determined to drag her and her brother out of their situation, despite their very adamant objections. And once all the secrets come out, it's a very good thing he's so single-minded.
This is a short story, but it's packed with action, drama, and two beautiful love stories. It's a harrowing story, but one with a stunning HEA by the time we get through all the obstacles. As always, this author writes an engaging, captivating story that packed a solid emotional punch and I highly recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I enjoyed this well-written novella. It was fascinating, romantic, mysterious and a little creepy. I really needed to find out what was going on. This was an entertaining novella and I can't wait to read the next book from this author.

Wow this was an intriguing book. Superstitions abound around Castle Draygon. All the dreams Hermes were having were centered around this castle. So when he was drowing his sorrows as usual in this small village, he realised quickly what his purpose is. Catrine had come to the village to get help for her brother and that's how she met Hermes. There is evil in the castle, but not what the townsfold thought. A great HEA.

Hermes de Norville is a healer as well as a mighty Knight, just as his grandfather had been. However since being unable to safe his wife from dying in childbirth he has been lost to depression. His aimless wandering takes him to a cursed village and the castle that terrifies everyone.
Catrine de la Pare has lived in fear most of her life. She desperately needs a Knight in shining armour.
Castle Draygon is a dark and terrible place, under a cloud of the evil that controls it.
This is a wonderful Gothic tale with so many of the characters suffering mental and physical pain. Superstition and crowd hysteria was rife in the days that people didn't understand why things happened. It takes someone with worldly knowledge, strength and hope to heal many lives.
I loved every page.

A Haunting Romance Story:
The wandering warrior Hermes is on an emotional journey to recapture
his former stalwart self. He crosses path with Catrine otherwise known as
the Angel of Death as she has just been captured by the villagers.
Helping her escape he finds himself at the front door of Castle Draygon.
This is where the story takes off and we find a deep secret, a disturbing, ritual,
scary inhabitants, maybe a curse of not, some tender confessions, and we
discover more than one romance.
An exciting and fairly scary plot with a large dose of mystery that was a treat to read.
A cast of interesting characters especially the Lord Marmion from the closet.
Adult Advisory:
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy for my honest opinion.
All thoughts are my own.
