I loved these Austen inspired romances. It managed to balances the romance with a dose of real-life complications, making sure the story was realistic!

Charlie is such a cute character. I think any women who has read Pride and Prejudice worries they will end up a spinster like Charlotte Lucas. What if I end up with a Mr. Collins? Charlie is no different. She wants to be an Elizabeth or Jane Bennet, but can she really be that person? When her neighbor talks her into a date with her grandson Liam, Charlie accepts. So starts her crazy journey.
I actually really like Charlotte Lucas, so I didn't feel like some of the decisions Charlie makes reflects her character. She acts like 27 is 47! A cute and easy read but not my favorite P&P nod.

I loved this story. The cover is beautiful and captures the eye when browsing the shelves. Charlie (Charlotte) and Liam are so cute together, and it was really nice to read a story that didn't follow the story of Pride and Prejudice for Charlotte Lucas. I am not a fan of love triangles and can do without that part to be honest. But overall this was a fast easy read and a lot of fun.

I think this book would have greatly benefitted a second perspective--I could not understand why Liam was so interested in Charlie. In fact, Liam didn't have much a personality either and I found myself not much caring about either character in this book. I feel like I wasted my time reading this book as it definitely was not my cup of tea.

This book is SO GOOD! Every time I picked up "I'm Not Charlotte Lucas",

I love anything relating to Jane Austen, and as soon as I heard about this book, I knew I wanted to read it! This is not a retelling, variation, or sequel, but, it is a contemporary romance where the main character shares the same name with Charlotte Lucas from the novel, and "Pride and Prejudice" is one of her favorite things.

Kasey Stockton is a wonderful author, and her writing is witty and full of heart.

OH MY GOSH! Charlie and Liam are so sweet together. They bring out the best in one another, and they grow together as well. They encourage one another to be the best version of themselves, and I hope to see them again in future books!

There are many references to "Pride and Prejudice" throughout this novel!

If you enjoy Contemporary Romance and / or anything related to Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice", I highly recommend this book! I look forward to reading what Ms. Stockton writes next.

I requested this book mainly for the P&P reference. It was not a re-imagining of P&P but the reference comes in the form of the FMC name and her interest in the book.

This book was a quick and easy read for me. Though I did enjoy the book, I wish I would've seen more from the MMC. If you're looking fire a light, quick and easy read, I definitely recommend.

There are many references of Pride and Prejudice, but it doesn’t hurt the story much for someone who has not read the book yet. I thought it was cute that she’s referencing her life to the character in the book initially, but soon got a little frustrated that she’s comparing everything in her life and all her decision-making to the novel.

The writing is light and easy to follow, the plot moves forward clean and fast. But I thought it might be better if Liam’s POV is included, because I felt like there isn’t much depth to his character; like he isn’t developed properly and many of his feelings and emotions are not included, except that he craves Charlie and loves her very much.

Overall, it’s a fast and easy read. The story is entertaining enough, but lack of details to give Charlie and Liam’s love story the wow factor.

I was so looking forward to this book, since I love just about everything Jane Austen. This book was not love though. While Charlie Lucas is charming, she could have used more depth. She focuses on the negative side of Charlotte Lucas while all she does is watch P & P and take back a boyfriend who treats her like dirt until it appears there is competition. This book was promising at the beginning, but was just missing something.

Thank you for the chance to read and review but after further consideration, I don’t think this is the right book for me.

This was a fun book. Any Janeite will love the nods to Austen’s classic, Pride and Prejudice. Both main characters were charming, Charlie in particular. I loved seeing her transform over the course of the book into someone more confident and willing to take risks to find her own happiness. Fans of sweet rom coms will be delighted with this book!

1. Charlie is actually worse than Charlotte Lucas. At the end of P&P Charlotte actually grows into herself. At the end of this book all of Charlie’s problems are “fixed” by the perfect man
2. Kevin or whatever his name is never sticks up for himself. The poor man is too perfect of a love interest. Why does he never challenge Charlie and her insults!!? Like damn dude
3. I was willing to give this book’s writing and plot leniency because I thought it was a debut author. IT IS NOT. This woman published many books previously. Based off this book, HOW!? The writing is watt pad level. And that’s an insult to watt pad. Dialogue is cringy. I think multiple sentences/descriptions repeated. Sloppy.
4. WHAT HAPPENED TO BETH’S PLOT!!? This poor woman deserves Justice. I will chug through another novel by this author just for Beth RIP

I’m not usually a contemporary novel reader, but Kasey Stockton is one of my favorite authors and I knew I needed to read this. Throw in a Jane Austen connection and I’m hooked! This book was simply delightful. It was really easy to see the Charlotte Lucas characteristics in Charlie, but she also had some Elizabeth Bennett in her too. Her growth as a character was fantastic. She just seemed so real. There were times when I thought maybe Liam was a little too perfect, but it honestly didn’t bother me that much. We all need that paragon from time to time. Super cute book and one I think people should pick up.

This was my first read by the author.

The FMC of this novel shares the same name as Elizabeth Bennet's best friend in P&P - Charlotte Lucas. She feels the same as well - she considers herself plain but secretly longs for a Mr. Darcy instead of settling for a Mr. Collins. The MMC, Liam seemed too sweet to me. I wanted him to be a little more developed. Overall, the novel progressed at a decent pace and came to a sweet conclusion.

This is a sweet story - despite the title and character names, the story is not a re-imagining of P&P. The Austen inspiration comes through in the characters' interest in her novel.
For the romance fans: this is a clean, insta-love-y story. The main character kept putting off the relationship, which was frustrating for me. The MMC is all-in and leans more towards golden-retriever energy than bad boy.
Although not my favorite tropes, I had fun reading. I would have liked to see more personality in the love interest: his main function seemed to be loving Charlotte. I was also intrigued by the B-story between the main couple's siblings, but it had no conclusion. Maybe the author is planning spinoffs? I would read one for Beth and Rhett - that's a love interest who seems more my type (morally gray).

Cute book! I loved the references to Jane Austen and <i>Pride and Prejudice</i>, although there's not really a direct tie-in/retelling of the story, though the focus is less on Darcy and Elizabeth's relationship and the peripheral character of Charlotte Lucas and how the modern-day Charlie desperately wishes to not end up like her namesake in the famous book. The main characters are both a little older (late 20s) and have had their own struggles with finding romance. I loved spunky neighbor/grandma Vera and Charlie's younger sister Mariah and would have even loved to see a bit more of both of them than what was featured. I enjoyed the humor and how all the characters come together in different ways/situations throughout the book. There's nothing surprising or any twists to the plot, but it's a very enjoyable, clean, fun, light read!

A charming romance with wonderful dollops of Jane Austen inspiration throughout in this fresh read about love and believing in yourself. A clean romance, with a likable heroine, and a wonderful cast of characters. I adored Vera and her matchmaking ways!

Overall, a quick enjoyable read for fans of clean romance and Austen-inspiration. Full of heart, and sure to bring a smile to your face.

This story, loosely based on characters from Pride and Prejudice, was a fun read. It was fun to have the twist where the main character shared a name with Charlotte Lucas instead of Elizabeth Bennet. I think this allowed the author to have more leeway in her story, so it was much more original than many other Pride and Prejudice retellings.

Liam was everything you want in a MMC. I had a harder time relating to Charlie, the FMC, and choices she made that I didn’t think weren’t fair to Liam. However, the author did use these choices to help her grow by the end of the story, so despite my frustration with her, they probably needed to happen.
