I wanted this because I have to have a low sugar diet. I can eat sugar just not much. This is an amazing book full of information for anyone trying to stay on a Keto diet. From desserts to dinner and breakfast foods it has a whole list. The recipes use coconut and almond flour. There also a lot of keto diet information. This great for anyone trying to maintain the diet. However for me it didn’t work so well perhaps I’ll try a low-carb or low-sugar diet.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is an interesting recipe book. Because it's keto baking the book breaks down different kinds of keto-friendly baking options. The recipes are in both cups and grams and list information like macros for planning. I was disappointed there aren't a lot of pictures in this book, I like my recipe books to have photos of the finished products to help me choose what to make. There's a variety of baked goods included in this book. While some of the recipes seem more complicated than traditional baking, I can see why others may enjoy this.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review the ARC for Small-Batch Keto Baking Cookbook! I was greatly intrigued when I first saw this cookbook, I love to bake, but there isn't a lot of weight loss friendly recipes in traditional baking. Small batch recipes is an amazing idea, usually due to recipes having a large amount for a singular person. When I think of keto I usually think of high fat like butter and bacon and absolutely no carbs like bread, but this cookbook changed my thinking of what eating keto is like. There is a great introduction that contains what ketosis is, ingredients, and trouble shooting. It is very encouraging that you can bake muffins, biscuits, cookies, and even cake. I would give this book 5 stars, but there are hardly any images of the recipes. There is only pictures after each chapter of the book. When I cook or bake I want to know what it is supposed to look like.
Small-batch Keto Baking has a good collection of baking recipes that give you options if you are on a Keto diet. I am not on a Keto diet, but have tried many different food elimination diets as I’ve tried to remedy stomach issues. Anyway, I haven’t tried any of these recipes yet, but found many that I would love to try! I am also a huge fan of the small batch recipes because then I don’t have to worry about anything going to waste when I’m the only one who would eat them in the house. I am glad to see a cookbook like this out there and I look forward to trying some of these recipes!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book!
While Keto isn’t for me, I have quite a few friends are crushing it and whenever they come over I try to cook something for them, but keto baking has been my downfall. That changes today! Now I can make cookies and other baked items for my friends and not worry about having to send the leftovers home with them or having them in the house. Perfect size batches that allow you to get your bake on and enjoy keto and gluten free treats! MARVELOUS!
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of Small Batch Keto Baking Cookbook.
I love sweets, especially baked goods but I don't like baking large portions so I'm always on the lookout for small batch recipes.
That's why I was so excited my request was approved.
I'm not on the keto diet but I strive to eat low-carb when I can, though it's hard when so many treats are full of regular carbs. And who doesn't love carbs!
Th author offers popular and easy to follow recipes of popular favorites but with a low carb, keto twist.
I think it's easy to alter most of the recipes if you're not on a keto diet (like myself) but want to maintain its low carb appeal as well as keep portions small and manageable.
My biggest caveat: where are the photos?
I eat with my eyes, and the lack of photos was a deep disappointment..
I look forward to trying some of these recipes but I wouldn't purchase a cookbook with no photos.
I loved the variety of recipes in this book as well as how clear the instructions were. I am a total novice when it comes to baking so I need things to be simple and not too intimidating. I would have preferred every meal to have a picture to go with it because I'm also very visual but that's just a me thing. Overall, I'm sure readers will get a lot out of this book.
For health reasons I needed to begin following a low carb lifestyle and for anybody else who has been down this journey like me realizes everything you have to give up especially things like cookies, cakes, and breads so it was a wonderful delight to find this book on how to be able to have my cake and eat it to!
There are some yummy goodies like the Lemon Sour Cream Muffins with Lemon Glaze and the Simple to make Dinner Rolls in here and a lot of them are any only around 4 net carbs or less. I like the fact that this is small batch baking so I wont be tempted to pig out or have to put them up for later because most baked goods like these are better fresh than reheated I have found.
I also liked the fact that all your dietary lists come with each recipe letting you know how many calories, carbs, and so forth so you don't have to figure it out on your own. That means a lot to me!
My biggest regret is that it didn't have very many photo's. I would have loved to have seen the end product on a lot of the recipes!
Thanks to NetGalley and Callisto Media for this copy in exchange for my honest review.
With sixty sweet and savory recipes, my biggest issue with the Small-Batch Keto Baking Cookbook is what to cook first. Should it be naan, red velvet cake, or brownie cheesecake bars? I chose Peanut Butter Cookies because I had all the ingredients (peanut butter, sweetener, and an egg) on hand. They were delicious! It only made a dozen cookies, which saved me and my husband from overeating a bit too much and still save some for lunch tomorrow. The next recipe I plan to try is English Muffins that are cooked in a microwave.
The book includes only keto recipes, which means all are gluten-free! Most of the recipes have only a few ingredients with most not hard to find in any supermarket. The only items I will have to buy are almond and coconut flour (because I usually use a 1-1 flour substitute). They are both relatively cheap at Walmart. Each recipe includes full nutritional information. My only complaint is the lack of photos of most of the finished recipes. But that is a minor gripe.
If you follow a keto or gluten-free diet, the Small-Batch Keto Baking Cookbook promises reasonably priced treats that you thought you would never get to eat again. Don’t miss it! 5 stars and a favorite!
Thanks to Callisto Media and NetGalley for a digital review copy of the book.
I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. This was a very interesting cookbook. I got some great ideas for healthier sweets ideas! Can't wait to try some. The pictures were very nice also.
Small-Batch Keto Baking Cookbook is a Low Carb recipe book with smaller size portions of cakes, cookies, breads and other baked goodies. After a beautiful mouth watering picture on the cover I was expecting to be seduced by the rest of the book. However there were very few pictures inside which was very disappointing. I would never buy a baking book that didn't have plenty of pictures. Not for me but plenty of other people might not mind the lack of pictures.
I totally enjoyed this book. The small batch recipes are perfect for my lifestyle and I look forward to using many of them. The recipes use simple ingredients and appear to be pretty easy. I recommend this book to all.
