I’m not a fan of stories that base the whole plot around an object that has power. I think the plot is dry. I also found it hard to relate to the kids considering they are so young.
A thoroughly enjoyable time travelling fantasy with solid characters at the forefront that readers will root for. The prose felt somewhat inconsistent in some areas, but it did not heavily detract from the story.
I'm American. This book was very enjoyable and I feel like The Amulet's Curse integrated a lot of British history into this book. I'm really quite rusty with British history, but this seems like a very fun way to get middle age students interested in history. (Rounding up to 5 stars for the history aspect.)
I had not read book one and I wasn't previously familiar with the author. So once again, I thank NetGalley for introducing me to a new-to-me author.
Thank you for the opportunity to read the advance review copy of The Amulet's Curse (Book #2) in exchange for an honest review. I didn't read Book #1 and I didn't feel too lost. I really try to avoid "series books"
