This is beautifully photographed and very detailed book about bread, making it and using it. I like that there are a few bread baking recipes which are full of information and advice.
What I really like is the ideas and recipes for using everything from breadcrumbs to sandwiches.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes bread, making it and/or eating it!
For a cookbook called "Bread and How to Eat It," there weren't many bread recipes. This book focuses more on the "how to eat it" part of the equation, with recipes for bread-as-ingredient foods like toast, sandwiches, and meatballs. There are 2 sourdough bread recipes followed by all the non-bread items including croutons, bread pudding, bread crumbs, and more.
I don't really consider sandwiches something that needs to be included in a cookbook. Not recommended for my fellow bread enthusiasts unless you're wondering what to do with the bread once you've made it.
I have read hundreds of cookbooks and found this one full of wonderful photography along with a few unique techniques of using bread for more than just sandwiches (though a few sandwich suggestions are included). The recipes sound delicious but nothing I haven’t come across before or would compel me to purchase a book. It’s a good book but doubt it will stand out amongst others.
I received an advanced reader copy for free from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
