I have followed Amy for years and years, and I absolutely love her stuff. I'm proud of her for writing this book, but I have to admit that as an online business owner, this just didn't hit with me. I'm not looking to give anyone my two weeks' notice. Some of the content was helpful in terms of setting up a business, but I felt it was information I had seen before from her. I think the book is a fabulous introduction to Amy for women who are looking to leave their day jobs, though.

So thrilled to get to read a book written by one of my favorite podcasters. I’ve learned so much about business from Amy over the years, and am so glad that she’s now packaged all her goodness up in an easy-to-digest format for newbies navigating out of the typical 9 to 5 world and into starting a business on their own. I often feel the “other people are already doing what I want to do” pain but Amy walks us through it with such vulnerability and champions us to take the steps to get through it because someone out there needs our help. I so appreciate the wide variety of business owners she has worked with and examples of how they too have created courses or coaching or done-for-you services to become their own bosses and serve those they are called to serve. I can’t wait to share this book with all my friends!

Online marketing expert Amy Porterfield knows just how scary it is to leave a 9-5 corporate job to step out on your own. Now the owner of a successful business and host of the Online Marketing Made Easy podcast, Porterfield gives you a detailed blueprint to show you just what it takes to build your own business.

I've listened to Porterfield's podcast for years, and have found that she gives great marketing advice applicable to all kinds of online businesses. However, Two Weeks Notice has a very focused target audience: corporate girls ready to leave their 9-5 jobs. If that's you, you'll find great advice on how to start your own online company - how and when to transition, how to find your niche and target audience, and how to earn money (with an emphasis on creating courses). Else, I'd pass on this one in favor of a book that will speak more to your situation.

I had very high expectations for Two Weeks Notice. Amy met every one of them! I have read this book three times now and it is full of highlights and post it notes, so make sure you grab your notebook. Every process she creates is step-by-step which I need because I have a corporate 9-5, a small business, work on a farm, and a new health coaching business in the making which will replace the 9-5. I am organized with laid out plans because of Amy and her processes!

She provides insight on the things that you should not focus on, and those that you should. I wish I had that information before I wasted a lot of money on a business years ago that did not make it. Her example templates save you time, the stories of her students are inspiring, and the vulnerability she shares lets you know you are not alone.

Once you read this book you will be inspired to get that business started with confidence and very little money, well you do have to buy the book. So set your date for giving your notice! This is my Entrepreneurial Bible.

Although I quit my 9-5 years ago, I wish I would have had this step-by-step book on how to become an entrepreneur at that time! The author has taken a lot of time to map out exactly what to do if you're interested in quitting your full-time job and starting your own business. She even provides checklists to make sure you have all your bases covered, along with candid stories of what she had done wrong herself. If you’re considering, starting a business, I highly recommend this book.
