The finale to the series, I definitely recommend reading them in order. I grew up loving the Cutting Edge, so this series was a must read. I love that there is no slow start to this book. It takes off running. The threat of KGB and prison are incentive enough for the characters to lose sleep at night. Since defecting Katrina hasn't seen her family. The chance to possibly be reunited made for a gripping story I didn't want to put down!
This author is one of my favorites!
Hopes and dreams collide in this beautifully tender tale of two Olympic hopefuls. This is a series that must be read in order to fully understand and enjoy it.
Diving back into the figure skating world, with all the drama and competition, was so exciting and the gamut of emotions are felt throughout the entire book.
Tyler and Amaliya are not only partners in pairs figure skating, but they're now engaged and have to hide it, since her father has all but forbidden them to be together. I loved revisiting these characters that I've come to love, and it was hard to watch their desires clash. With a final performance looming, hard decisions must be made about the future. Abramson writes in a way that brings these characters to life. I feel that I know them and want what's best for them, but only they can decide their path. I guess I almost feel like their parents, hah!
An added element with this book is a potential meeting between Amaliya's mother and her family from Russia. Danger results from this and took me by surprise, leaving me breathless.
Beautifully written, full of moving feelings, and glimmers of hope from where it all began permeate these pages and I was fully immersed from start to finish.
Content: mild romance; skating injury; moments of peril and danger

I have enjoyed this series by Traci Hunter Abramson and sad to see it be over. I loved how in this book there were a lot of decisions that Tyler and Amaliya have to make and that they need to decide what is important to them. I also like the side story is about Amaliya helping her mother to meet with her brother after not seeing him for years and the struggle that is. I thought this story gave a good depiction of what life would have been like for those behind the iron curtain. I thought the story was well told and I really enjoyed it.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
Worlds Collide is book 3 in Traci Hunter Abramson’s sports romance series Dreams Edge.
I have really enjoyed this series! I like the figure skating, the relationships including both family and friends that are like family, the relatable challenges, and the healthy dose of suspense.
I really love that each of the books in this series includes a unique set of challenges for the characters to face. Although it is centered around figure skating, it’s not entirely about figure skating. I really liked seeing Amalia and Tyler work through the challenges that come after the Olympics. Figuring out what to do with your life, what career to pursue, where to live, how to make ends meet are real stresses we all face eventually and it felt relatable. I like that they had to communicate and compromise to reach a decision together.
I also loved the family dynamic. Majority of the story focuses on reuniting Amalia’s mom with the family she left behind when she defected from the Soviet Union. I loved getting to know Amalia’s uncle Victor and his family. I love that even Victor’s family got a happily ever after and were better off than they were before, and I love that the way it came about was not at all how I thought it would happen.
Lastly I love that this story is told from multiple perspectives! It’s not just Amalia and Tyler telling the story, we get to see things from the point of view of Amalia’s parents, uncle, and other important characters in this story. I love how including these different perspectives makes the story more complex and allows me as the reader to see everything that’s going on, even the things the main characters are unaware of. It’s a unique writing style that I absolutely love!
Overall this was a great story and a wonderful series! I loved the characters and the intertwined stories. I loved that it had a little bit of everything, romance, figure skating, suspense, family, every day stresses, it was all there. If you enjoy sports romance or romantic suspense, I definitely recommend the Dreams Edge series!
Fabulous continuation of the story of Tyler and Amaliya and their ice skating expertise. The still get to contend with the Russians but come out ahead of course.
The third volume of this series does not disappoint. After winning their gold medals, Amalyia and Tyler have a new challenge at the Worlds in Canada, especially if there is any hope of reuniting her mother with her brother. The Soviets are still determined to have their ballerina back.
This is an adventure with cold war danger that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Both for the repeat performance in winning Gold and trying to reunite a family separated because of government suspicions.
This is a spy novel under the guise of a sports novel and it is completely wonderful, The danger feels real and the characters are complex. This is narrative written by a master storyteller. I highly recommend this,
I received an early copy from the publishe through netgalley and this is my honest review.
Are you a fan of sweet sports romances? Figure skating? Books set in the 80’s? If so, check out the Dream Edge series by Traci.
I’ve truly enjoyed this series and am sad it has come to an end.
Thankfully it was a very satisfying and exciting conclusion for these characters we’ve come to love so much.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me a copy. All opinions expressed are my own.
I have been waiting in great anticipation for the final book of the Dreams Edge series and it did not disappoint! Abramson is a master story crafter and finished off the series in a way I wasn’t sure would be possible with the Russian government in the way of the characters’ happy ending. I’d love to see the stories of the Russian side of the family in a future series!
I loved the way Amaliya and Tyler’s story ended in the book. nNot only did we get to see what they were thinking after becoming gold medalist but what would be next and all the decisions they had to make going forward. I also loved the perspective of the other characters throughout the story. I loved the complex family dynamic that was included and the struggles everyone faced just to be able to see each other.
What a way to end the Dream's Edge trilogy! I couldn't wait for this book to release but I also didn't want the series to end. That being said, I started it one night and finished it the next day, it was so good! It deserves more than 5 stars!!
There were several storylines in this book and I didn't know how they would all be resolved, but of course Traci Abramson did a fantastic job packing them together and tying every single storyline up with a beautiful bow. First up, gold medal winners Tyler and Amaliya are preparing to compete in the World's competition but also need to decide if they want to accept an offer to become pro-skaters or continue training to compete in the 1988 Olympics. They also need to figure out how to approach her slightly over-protective father about them getting married--Tyler asked and Amaliya said yes but he hasn't talked to her father yet. Then there's matter of Katerina's brother, Viktor coming to Canada with his daughter Sonya for the World's competition. Will Katerina be able to see him? Would the Soviet government even consider it because of her defection even though it was 20 years ago?
There are so many things to love about this book! Getting viewpoints from multiple characters; the suspense that had me worried for a bit, wonderful characters I've come to love, the strong theme of family that encompassed not only this book but the entire series and multiple happy endings for our characters. That being said, I'm still sad to see this series end.
I was married with 2 small children at the time this book takes place; reading this story brought to mind the tension that existed between the Soviet Union and the United States during the Olympics and World competitions in the 70's and 80's.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Picking up right after the Olympics, Tyler and Amaliya are contemplating the future of their careers as well their future together, but first they have Worlds to conquer.
This book delves more into the life of Amaliya's extended family living in The Soviet Union. The book does a great job of showing the realities that people living under that regime faced. A heartwarming story of love, family, and sacrifice. A wonderful read for figure skating fans.
Overall, an enjoyable, quick read, with likable characters and a moving plot. A beautiful conclusion to this wonderful series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
What a whirlwind!!
This was such a great conclusion to this series. Once again Traci produces a story that has adventure, romance, real life relationship problems and solutions, and some thrilling events.
After the Olympic gold win, Tyler and Amaliya have to make some big choices. Do they keep competing at the ameteur level and go for another Olympic run? Go professional and join a show? And the most important of all, when to get married, and how to get a blessing from Amaliya's father, Robert. Hoping to win another gold at Worlds in Toronto to prove that their win wasn't just a fluke, they continue to train. But all the choices decisions start becoming distractions. On top of all that the whole gang, Tyler, Amalyia, their coach, family, and friends, try and come up with a plan (or two or three) on how to get to Katerina's brother.
After defecting from the Soviet Union more than 20 years earlier, the chance at seeing her brother is too much a temptation. Can her brother, Victor, even get the papers to travel with his daughter to Worlds? And will they get caught? What will the KGB so if they see her?
With all the uncertainty in the air, Tyler and Amaliya have to work at knowing what they want for their future. They discover happiness together on the ice, like always.
Traci did a great job including so many side stories. Any other author would probably get me a little confused with all the characters. But Traci makes them so distinct that I never really have to question one name and their identity to another. I also love how well she brought in real relationship and marital decisions into Tyler and Amaliya's story. The first two books were building up to this one with Katerina's brother, but were very focused on Tyler and Amalyia. This one was fairly spread out with everything involved. So to have the two of them have such a significant thing anchoring us to the original book, was really nice.
Overall, I loved this series. This book was a winner, much like Traci's characters. It gets a gold from me.
4.5 Stars
What a fantastic series finale!! Political intrigue, sports competitions, and sweet romance all intertwine in a intriguing story that kept me on the edge of my seat!
This book follows Tyler and Amaliya as they compete in pairs figure skating at the World Championships in 1984, but Amaliya's family ties to Soviet Union also brings danger and suspense to the competition. Add in such very big decisions that the two are forced to make about their relationship and the direction their journey goes after Worlds adds even more tension and stress to the story. I adore Tyler and Amaliya and their romance is so very sweet!
The story is told from multiple POVs which I LOVED! It really helped immerse me in the story and understand the characters. After three novellas and three books I am so sad to see this series come to an end - I am in love with all of these characters!
I highly recommend you pick up the books in order to avoid spoilers and get the full connection to the characters and their stories. This series is perfect for fans of sweet sports romances with a splash of suspense! Definitely a 5 stars from me!
I received a complimentary copy but a positive review was not required.
I've always wondered what went into pair's figure skating now I have some idea! Wow!
A lot of work and a lot of compromising between two people.
I enjoyed learning more about ice skating. In my opinion, I think it's the most beautiful of sports ever! There's just something about it that takes your breath away and feeling satisfied at the same time.
I completely understood how Tyler and Amalyia felt. Happy and on top of the moon. It's how I feel after a performance with the orchestra I'm in.
Performing in front of people well.... it's exciting and that's how I felt about reading this book.
Lots of excellent writing and wonderful characters that I very much enjoyed in getting to know.
I loved "visualizing " Tyler and Amalyia during their performance. I felt like I was there right in the crowd cheering them on!
I am still thinking about these characters because their story was so good that I didn't want it to end.
5 stars for a job well done! I highly recommend!
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Oh my goodness! This has been an amazing series full of history, loss, redemption, and sweet, tender romance. This series is a must read! (Make sure to start with book 1). Ms Abramson has once again out done herself in emotional storytelling. This is a winner!

I enjoyed this final installment in the Dream's Edge series! This series is definitely best enjoyed when read in order.
I received an ARC through Netgalley and all opinions are my own.
I was so excited for Amaliya and Tyler’s story to continue. They’re sweet romance is so touching even with their young ages they are able to make wise decisions. I enjoyed their connection on and off the ice. It was a sweet sports romance, but so much more. The political intrigue, the excitement of competition, the international tension, and the love of family makes this story, entertaining and gripping. The author is so talented at writing suspense/political books. She did a wonderful job of incorporating all of the stories in the series into this adventurous conclusion. I am reminded of the joys and privileges I have for living in a free country. I remember many challenges that surrounded the Olympics during the 1980s. I have always been a fan of figure skating, and she was able to describe the scenes to make me feel as if I was rink side. A truly remarkable book and series, I highly encourage you to read all of the books in the series.

Worlds Collide was one of the most anticipated books on my To-Read list for 2023. I have loved this series and adored the characters and I couldn't wait to see what happened to Tyler and Amaliya in the World's Championship. Now if that wasn't enough to make me want to read this book, readers knew that Amaliya's Russian-born mother who defected from her country was now threatened by her home country. In 1984 the KGB was still such a huge threat to the world.
So once again, I made the mistake of picking this book up in the early evening and losing track of time because of the phenomenon of "just one more chapter" rattling through my brain. The angst in the book is real and you will never find that stopping place. There is so much going on between Tyler and Amaliya that I had not anticipated. Also, Katerina's life and freedom are at risk with the KGB on the move. This last book nicely weaves all of the previous books and novellas in the series into a perfect package of really great reading. Make sure to read the books in the correct order. Go to Traci's website to find the best and most enjoyable way to read the Dream's Edge series.
Worlds Collide by Traci Hunter Abramson
This book was such a great wrap up to this series. I enjoyed every minute of it. It has love, it has action, it has it all. Give it (and the whole series) a read!

This is a great ending to this series! I really enjoyed reading about Tyler and Amaliya and their journey to achieve their goal of receiving a gold medal in pairs figure skating at the Olympics and the World Championships. Their love story was sweet but also realistic as they struggled to overcome differences in goals and ideas for their future.
What I really loved about this book was the continuation of the story of Katerina. I loved the first book in this series, Dancing for Freedom, and it was so much fun to get to revisit that story and see Katarina’s story come full circle.
This is such a great book! Full of suspense and intrigue. I couldn’t put it down!
