This is a very cute and well-illustrated book! I love how this could help elder siblings adjust to their new younger sibling/s. I also loved the diversity and inclusive representation of this book.
A very cute an colorful book about siblings. A new baby brings all and of emotions in the elder child how to share your mummy's lap, how to accept that someone is there who needs more attention. This book can be very helpful for the parents to show how much fun it can be with little baby .Lovely book.
I just love kid's books which rhymes. And I also loved the representation of different cultures. It's not anymore only white families. I loved that. Also, I think it's difficult for a child to accept his/hers baby brother/sister, so it was really nice.
The perfect book for when your little one becomes a big brother or sister. This one sets the tone and celebrates what it means to be an older sibling and shows the many ways these older siblings can love, play with, and interact with their new baby brother or sister.
I loved the diverse and inclusive representation this book portrayed! It shows how while families look different.. having a little brother or sister will certainly have predictable similarities!
This is the type of book I would have read my son before his sister came along. I love the rhyming and also the diversity of siblings in the book is wonderful! It has wonderful illustrations and lots of fun colors. This is the perfect book to read to a child who will soon become a sibling.
I love this book! This is about to be my new go-to book to give older siblings that are about to have a younger sibling. I do agree with another reviewer that the last page seems a little forced. The rhyming pattern is not the same as the rest of the book.
I appreciate the diverse cultural representation. The cover is beautiful, the illustrations are beautiful and the message is beautiful. Will definitely recommend and by purchasing when the physical copy is released.
5/5 Stars.
I thought this was a great story that perfectly describes what happens when a new baby is added to the family! I love that the story is told from the point of view of the older sibling!
This is a sweet, inclusive book.. I love the illustrations. The text flowed well when I read aloud. I think the font choice was somewhat jarring. I imagine very young toddlers will like this book, and older kids may like reading it to their younger siblings.
'The Baby and Me' by Christianne Jones is just a beautiful book. We have had a baby this past year, after 9 years old having one child and this text is just ideal for my eldest to read to my youngest. I love how the illustrations represent a diverse array of people and families. I love also how the sibling seems to be a fair bit older. Many other 'sibling' books I have found, there is a closer age gap and it doesn't feel fitting for my family.
This is a brilliant book that we will be purchasing when there is a hard copy and I can't wait for my eldest to read it to her little sister. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for gifting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I thought that this was a lovely book!
The book would be ideal for any expectant parents to explain the changes that will come when their new brother or sister arrives, it shows that it might be a bit scary and daunting at first but it will end up being lots of fun!
The illustrations were lovely and really brought the story to life.
It is well written and well laid out, and easy to follow.
It is 5 stars from me for this one, very highly recommended!
This book is absolutely adorable. The author describes all the way a big sibling can help and bond with their new younger sibling(s). They show the joy of siblings and welcoming a new baby into the family.
I love the illustrations. They are very diverse in multiple ways. Different skin colours and tones, cultures and religions. This book even shows adoption and having multiples. The vast representation in the book will help so many children feel included when they see a child that looks like them, or a family that looks like theirs.
Cute book for a big brother or sister! I love that it shows the ways that a toddler can interact with a new baby sibling. I also loved the diversity in the illustrations! Cute, short, simple book but with rhymes to help keep the child’s attention!
Ok, so this book was super, super cute! I found it odd that families of color interacted with white babies, but only families of color interacted with brown babies...I loved the representation though! The family diversity, and the safety images like the baby's bath seat!
I found the last line to be a bit forced, however, if you are reading it out loud to a kid, it all rhymes, so they will like the singsong nature regardless!
my heart!!!!!!! 🥺
beautiful book with a beautiful message. good for children who are elder siblings to show them the beauty of having a younger one ♥️
Thanks to Publisher for the copy!
