This is a great read for anyone interested in improving progress toward goals while simultaneously reducing stress and exhaustion. The author demonstrates that small adjustments in how we manage our own attention can lead to greater productivity with less stress and burnout. The message is very timely, as recent changes in work and media make the need to take back control of our attention more important every day. Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for an advance e-reader copy of this book.

I haven't had time to finish this one, but love the new perspectives brought up. I love learning new things about my brain and there is so much to explore here. Will definitely be buying this for our library and patrons.

This was a well-researched, fascinating look at focus and productivity. I thought it would be about ADHD and how to manage, but instead it really looked at the phenomenon of attention spans in the 21st century. I was surprised to see that this isn't a problem limited to people with neurodivergence. However it is important to be aware of ways we are distracted within our workplace, and why we need to set up boundaries and rules for follow-through. I highly recommend this book for all libraries!

Gloria Mark gives all the background information you need about the psychology of attention. It'll help you make better decisions about attention, and recognize when your attention is in jeopardy and how to recover. Mark provides research-backed assessments of how our attention is affected by modern technology. It's not the fear-mongering you normally hear; it's not fear-mongering, but based on facts.

The most common questions my creative writing students ask are about focus: how to stick with one project when they keep getting new ideas; how to keep writing a story when they "get bored;" and other variations of this. Gloria Mark's ATTENTION SPAN is now part of my classes for writers. It offers such helpful information and actionable items that I know it's going to be a huge help for my students. It has already helped me!

This book hit a little too close to home for me. I appreciated the research and the overall tone of the book.
