There were so many twists and turns throughout this story. I will say that I think it was borderline too many twists that it started to feel so unrealistic. However, the overall storyline was unique and kept my interest!
Another brilliant twisty offering from K L Slater.
I love her books, I get into them so quickly and once I've started I don't want to put them down.
The Girlfriend had a really intriguing plot that kept me guessing the whole way through and I liked how it all fell into place right at the end.
As usual the twists and turns were first class and the story definitely didn't go how I thought it would.
Would definitely recommend for an easy reading psychological thriller.
I enjoyed this but it was not my favourite by this author. It did lose my attention a bit at times. All in all a good read though
*Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this arc in exchange for my honest review*
A great thriller - I would recommend it!
5 Stars! Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.
I absolutely loved it. I couldn't put it down.
So many twists and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
I love K.L. Slater's books.
This was so readable and fast paced. The characters are well developed. There are many twists and turns. Brilliantly written
This was a pretty inventive thriller. I listened to the audiobook in the end, and I did enjoy it. I didn't guess the twists and turns, and really enjoyed the experience. There was a lot of intensity in the character emotions, and my heart was racing repeatedly as I tried to read faster and faster so I could find out what would happen next.
I always enjoy books by K.L.Slater. This one did not disappoint. I did not see the ending at all. Great characters, would have liked a bit more from our loveable coppers! Overall though, another great, easy to read novel.
This was a wild ride of a read but also kinda triggering for me b/c of the abuse/cheating. This was my 2nd book by K.L. Slater and I loved the 1st book. So I think this is a me problem and not an author/writing problem. I will definitely be giving her another read!

Thank you Bookoutre and Netgalley and sorry I didn't read this sooner.
Wow, couldn't put this one down.
This was a good read, with a great plot and characters, but for him the ending was a bit quick so would have liked to have a bit more oomph to it.
As usual though K L Slater does it again!
Definitely recommended
Wow! What a book!
This book was brilliant, full of twists and turns and a shocking twist at the end that you don't see coming!
Wow, this story starts off with nightmare upon nightmare upon nightmare for our poor FMC Jennifer!
A quick and entertaining read!
This was definitely a great read but I was just a little disappointed with the ending. It was a bit quick so would have enjoyed a more in depth finale! Always a good read from K L Slater though.
Thank you Netgalley
This took a few chapters to really get into but once the speed kicked in it didn't put the brakes on until the very end.
An amazing marriage, two wonderful children, a lavish home...Jennifer and Cole have the perfect life or do they?
Jennifer is left devastated when her husband is killed in a car crash. A few days later there is a knock at the door. Standing there is a much younger woman Sara holding a baby, a baby that she supposedly fathered with Cole and to add further insult to injury, Cole had signed over their lavish home to her also.
Jennifer and her children are now homeless. Without realising, fully trusting her husband Jennifer has signed all the papers, blindly, giving Sara everything they owned.
Now whilst the whole secret girlfriend storyline has been done time and time again, it's never been done in the way K.L Slater has portrayed it.
Brilliantly executed, clever twists and expertly written.
Huge thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC.
A very interesting read with some great characters and twists. I'm a big fan of the author and while this one didn't initially grip me as much as previous books, it turned into a compelling read.
I read and love a lot of domestic thrillers, but what I liked most about this was it was totally different to others I've read before. It was a new take on domestic thrillers with a fresh storyline. There were lots of added twists along the way and it was fun to watch it all unfold. Can't wait to read another by the same author.
I loved this book! It really kept me captivated from start to finish and is definitely one of the best psychological thrillers that I’ve read this year.
The drama for this one started from the get-go and it was with the death of the FMC husband who just left the house and didn't tell her... Where did he go? What happened to him?
I had so many questions throughout the book. KL Slater kept me waiting and wanting more. To add more drama and tension, a random woman arrives at Jennifer's house claiming she is Cole's girlfriend and this is his baby. I mean, really!? Could Jennifer's world be more torn.
The story leads from there, the rollercoaster of a ride you're taken on, the reader is thrown into utter chaos, a mistress and a murder.
This was a great thriller and it definitely gripped the reader from start to finish.
Thank you @netgalley, KL Slater and Bookouture for allowing me access to this ARC.
Thank you to #NetGalley and #Bookouture for letting me read this book.I really enjoyed this book. So many twists and turns.
What a GRIPPING book! Addictive, chilling and twisty, I was gripped from the first few pages and as soon as you think you've worked out the plot.. it twists again! Super fun read.
