I was gifted an Advanced Reader's copy (ARC) by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest unbiased opinion.

Declan is known for being a dangerous risk taking bachlor who in his adopted father's eyes makes him unsuitable to take over the family production company. When JJ (his father) gives him an ultimatum to clean up his image or lose his inheirtance and volunteers him to partner in a charity boat race with Charlotte who is from "old money" to help improve his reputation.
Charlotte has her own reasons for particpating in the race, her ex-fiance cleaned out the bank accounts for her and the charity she worked for and took off for places unknown. Charlotte hopes to win the race and have the million dollar prize cover the loss to her charity.
This story is a quick read, the characters were enjoyable and engaging. I enjoyed the book

Good book about two people who pair up to win a sailing race. Declan and Charlotte each have reasons they need to win this race. Charlotte needs the prize money to replace the funds that her rat of an ex-fiancé stole from her charity. Declan must prove to his father that he's ready to take over the family business. But can two very different people find a way to work together?

I liked both Charlotte and Declan. Charlotte's charity, Martha's Kids, is very important to her, and she's devastated and ashamed when she discovers what her ex did. Though she's turned over all information to the authorities, the details aren't public knowledge, and she hopes to replace the missing money before it is. Entering the sailing race is her chance to get that money. It doesn't help that her father constantly puts her down. Charlotte spends a lot of effort doing everything she can to avoid notice and blend into the background.

Declan and his brother Nash were adopted by Hollywood producer JJ Masterson when they were children. JJ is a control freak, but Declan did things his way, from becoming a stuntman and actor to extreme sports and playboy shenanigans. He's recently given up some of his antics to concentrate on being part of the family business. He's furious when JJ tells him to clean up his act or lose his chance to inherit the business. He agrees to his father's demand that he partner with Charlotte to win the race. If he can avoid scandal, he'll get the company.

I enjoyed watching the relationship develop between Charlotte and Declan. Things get off to a rough start because Declan's good looks and charming ways remind Charlotte of her ex, and she doesn't trust him. Charlotte's need for control triggers Declan's contrariness, and he has too much fun yanking her chain. This leads to a bargain between them - he'll support picking Martha's Kids as their team's charity if she consents to a makeover. With a truce called to concentrate on preparing for the race, neither expects the sparks of attraction that flare between them.

I liked seeing Declan and Charlotte get to know each other. Charlotte learns that there is more to Declan than his playboy image. His protectiveness when the paparazzi show up is sweet. Declan is intrigued by Charlotte's intelligence and big heart and finds that she makes him want to be a better man. There are some terrific scenes between them during the events leading up to the race. I especially enjoyed the ball and seeing Declan and Charlotte work together to promote Martha's Kids. When a storm ends their race and shipwrecks them on an uninhabited island, the attraction between them becomes too much to resist. But when scandal erupts after their rescue, will the publicity draw them together or pull them apart? And what about the secrets neither of them had shared with the other?

Declan and Charlotte had to deal with their insecurities before they could have a shot at a life together. Charlotte had to decide if she could trust Declan, and he had to decide if giving in to his father's demands was worth the cost. I loved Declan's confrontation with JJ and his eye-opening conversation with his brother afterward. I also liked seeing Charlotte's strength as she dealt with the fallout at her charity and her father's attitude. The ending was terrific, and Declan won my heart with his emotional reunion with Charlotte.

I wish there had been an epilogue because I'd love to see how their future plays out. After checking out the author's upcoming releases, I'm excited to see that Declan's brother Nash features in the next book. Maybe Declan and Charlotte will make a guest appearance there.

A Delightful story of two who need something from each other. Of course things don’t always go the way we plan and Declan and Charlotte are no exception. A race to the finish and if they win, they both get what they want - he, his family’s production company, her a million dollars to save her beloved foundation. But as one well knows, nothing ever turns out the way we want.
Very enjoyable and captured my attention from page one.

A true opposites-attract romance

Charlotte certainly isn't the typical kind of woman that Hollywood heartthrob Declan usually finds attractive, but there's something much deeper in her character that just calls out to him. They're paired up for a charity yacht race, one that Charlotte needs to win to rescue the charity she inadvertently put in jeopardy and Declan needs to win in order to prove to his father he's ready to take over the family film business.

I really enjoyed the way these two challenged each other's preconceived notions about their character and ambitions. Their slow-burn romance had to develop a strong and sturdy foundation long before their romance could take root. There was one part where I thought he killed any chance of winning her heart, but then I really loved the way Declan's brother called him out on it and Declan realized what a mess he'd made and set about to fix it. In the end, love conquers all and these two get a very satisfying, if not entirely as planned, HEA.

Anne Marsh has long been one of my favorite authors, and this book is a fine example of why I'll never pass up a chance to read her romances. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I won’t lie - I solely decided to read this book because of the cover. I often judge books by their covers. But if there’s a book with a sailboat or yacht on the cover, you can guarantee it will immediately be added to my TBR.

I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers story between a rich, playboy who needs to fix his image and save his inheritance - and an average woman who wants nothing more than give back to charity. Two complete opposites who have been forced into a situation where they have to learn to compromise and work together.

This book had so much to love. And I absolutely love the growing connection between Declan and Charlotte as the story progressed. Declan is absolutely someone who gets what he wants, and what he wanted was Charlotte.

This was without a doubt worthy of five stars from me. If you love stories set on sailboats as much as I do, this is a book you won’t want to miss!

Winning a yacht race will earn Charlotte’s favorite charity a cool million and replace the cash her nefarious ex-fiancé embezzled. Her partner, Hollywood darling Declan, has his own reasons for wanting to win—gaining his father’s respect as well as the reins of the family production company. But Charlotte’s fear of drowning and her need for control create tension as does their red hot chemistry and the pararazzi who are anxious to document another chapter in Declan’s scandalous relationship history.

The story contains plenty of great elements including the state of Charlotte’s charity due to the antics of her horrible ex, Declan’s dad’s inheritance test, a muffin-making bestie, a brother who happens to be an expert in chemistry, the details of Declan’s previous ill-planned proposal, a group of generous Guinea pigs, and the way Declan’s team of stylists make Charlotte feel like Cinderella. I would have loved an epilogue, but the story includes a lovely resolution. I’m hoping that this ends up being a series because Declan’s brothers and Charolette’s friends would make great leads.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
