Lady Featherstone gets her chance to launch a young lady in her first season. Prudence Landry is being harrassed by an unknown gentleman at her home in the country. A connection through marriage, her father writes to Lady Featherstone for help. She and Lady Heathway arrive to take Prudence back to London, escorted by the Marquess of Ryland. Prudence isn't sure she likes Ryland's demeanor, but has to admire his no nonsense attitude. Thieves, a years old murder and a diamond will keep Ryland and the members of SACK racking their brains to solve what ties these things together with Prudence in the middle. At the same time Ryland seeks to win the lady's heart. The antics of many of the book's characters will keep you laughing in this clean romance with a mystery to solve.

This series has been such fun! The female characters all deviate from the norm in one way or another, some more so than others. While the males are an eclectic array of (sometimes) likable, though (somewhat) broken characters. Prudence and Ambrose being no exceptions. So glad Lord Ryland finally found his match, he sure waded through enough possibilities.

Six highly placed matrons mourn their lack of daughters until they devise a scheme to launch eligible girls in need of assistance, and so The Society of Sponsoring Ladies is born.
Lady Prudence Landry is the only daughter of the Earl of Copeland, has been besieged by Lord Luckstone, who has told the neighbourhood that they are engaged but they most certainly are not. The earl sends an urgent message to his cousin, Lady Featherstone, who sets off for Kent with the redoubtable Lady Heathway, determined to bring Lady Prudence to London. It is finally her turn to act as mama to a charming young lady. Ambrose Thorpe, Marquis of Ryland, is larger than life and the founder of the Society for Advancing Criminal Knowledge. The ton believes the lord merely wishes to assist the crown, but he has another reason for involving himself in England’s underbelly - long ago, someone murdered his father for the famed Lisbon Diamond but the lord never had in his possession. Lady Featherstone is one of his longstanding members and when she summons him to the earl’s estate, he promptly answers the call.
Pru is the fifth young lady to be taken under the wing of one of the daughterless ladies. It was an easy to read entertaining romance with a mystery about the diamond. I really liked both Ambrose & Pru & liked the growing chemistry between them. Thomas was a delight & always made me smile. The older ladies are wonderful with all their quirks but all with hearts of gold. I'm glad Ambrose had his HEA as he's been a secondary character throughout the series. Only one more to go & it’s the Duchess who will sponsor her

The Jilter is a great addition to this series. I liked that Prudence was cautious, but not stubborn when it came to falling for Ambrose. She had cause to be nervous after what happened with Lucknell, but at least she was open minded enough to see how perfect Ambrose was for her. I loved watching the romance bloom between these two. The mystery around Lucknell and the Diamond of Lisbon added a bit of drama. Thomas added some much appreciated comic relief to the story and I loved the moments between him and the Earl. The final chapter offers all of the closure you could possibly want and then some.

The Society of Sponsoring Ladies strikes again! Ryland met his other half. Lots of amusing incidents and witticisms in this book and adorable, eccentric characters. I specially love Thomas. Not to mention a murder mystery is solved! Utterly satisfying epilogue as well!

I received an ARC from Netgalley and leaving my review voluntarily.

In this witty romance, Viscountess Featherstone did not even have to look for a candidate to bring out for the season. Lady Prudence more or less fell into her lap when she was being besieged by a despicable lord who insisted they were betrothed. Lady Featherstone calls on the Marques of Ryland, Ambrose Thorpe, to investigate the rogue, and when it would appear that there is some skulduggery involved, Ambrose decides that he needs to involve himself further in the case. As he discovers there is more to the matter than meets the eye, there is nothing that will distract Ambrose from his purpose. Having had one male trying to dominate her, Prudence is reluctant to get too close to Ambrose, fearing that he may swamp her with his sheer strength and leave her with no voice to express herself. However, as she comes to compare Ambrose against the other young men of the ton, Prudence learns that he may in fact be everything she needs in a man. The six matrons bring their own humor to the plot but it is young Thomas and his hilarious antics that really capture the heart. Despite his lack of education, nothing escapes his notice and when it comes to learning to read, it is his fresh young eyes that cause the truth to emerge. The novel comes to an exciting close and justice is served, but perhaps not in a way that one would have liked. I received a copy of this well-written book as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

It’s Lord Ryland’s Turn.

It’s Lady Featherstone’s turn from The Society of Sponsoring Ladies to launch her cousin’s daughter into society and find her a suitable match. Her cousin, The Earl of Copeland and Prudence his daughter are caught in a mystery, a certain Lord Luckstone is claiming that she is his fiancée and both the Earl and his daughter have denied what he’s said and they have had to lock themselves into their home as he is making a nuisance of himself.

Lady Featherstone rushes to bring her to London with Lord Ryland at her heels, she had also asked the Marquess of Ryland for his help in finding out who this Lord was. Ambrose was the founder of the Society for Advancing Criminal Knowledge which is why Lady Featherstone had approached him and it was his ongoing mission in life to find out who had murdered his father.

Ambrose knew he was attracted to Prudence when he first set eyes on but he was trying to help to solve the mystery of Lord Luckstone and his own father’s murder. He wasn’t happy that she was attracting other men when he realised he loved her but how to get her to believe that she would be better with him than what she had in her mind was an ideal man was proving to be hard.

Another great story, I sat reading and had to keep laughing at the antics of the society of sponsoring ladies. Their brilliant characters shine through and bring so much to this series. I also love how the author always brings in any loose ends at the end to let you know what happened to some of the secondary characters within the story. The book has romance with a HEA but it’s a clean written adventure which in its self is perfect for this story.

If you haven’t read any of the books within this series, you’re really missing out! All the books are just so witty with their own individual secondary characters which make you laugh out loud and are entertaining. I cannot compliment them enough!

Prudence Landry, besieged by a strange man who claims they are engaged, makes her escape with the help of Lady Featherstone and Lord Ryland , but the conspiracy follows her to London.

I was very excited for this book, because I love a good mystery, and I’ve been interested in the character of Lord Ryland since the first book. He’s a fellow true crime aficionado after all! And besides, it’s funny to see him as the hero after he’s been put forward as a match for previous heroines so often.

This book did not disappoint. The romance between Prudence and Ambrose was cute, and I liked that the author went with unexpected option of making Prudence very uninterested in true crime. I also found the B-plot of the diamond hunters quite engaging, and enjoyed how it intertwined closer with the romance in this book than the B-plots generally have in this series.

However, I did wish that the resolution of Prudence’s anxiety about men was handled differently. I appreciated how the impact of being besieged by Lord Luckstone was depicted, but the resolution being witnessing a man making a fool of himself felt a little anti-climactic.

Another great book in this series as usual it's well written and fairly clean and sweet with a low steam level. There was more adventure in this one with Ryland trying to find the people who murdered his father and Pru being pursued by the same people it was nice to see Ryland get his happy ending as he has appeared in all the other books. The story did seem to come to an abrupt end though which was a little disappointing but the reason for this is explained. This book was a delight. Like the others in the series, it was very humorous entwined with a serious story. The characters are all well-written and their stories very thorough. I was excited for Lady Featherstone to get her young lady to present to society. Prudence was a perfect match for her and Lord Ryland. Ryland has always been interesting and I was intrigued by him in previous books. I am glad he got his happy ever after. Now I am ready for the girl the Duchess will sponsor and Mr. Vance's book.
