29 books in and this series is still a blast to read.
Stephanie and company are up to their usual high jinks, this time with a couple of kidnappings, some comic book nerds, and a mobile office in the mix.
All of the usual supporting cast is here, along with a few new villains and a few new pals. This one is a little slow getting started but worth it when the story picks up a little before the midpoint. It doesn’t have quite as much absurdity as some of the Stephanie Plum books (remember the giraffe sightings?!), but there are of course exploding cars hilariously disastrous FTA pickups.
I think this series is great in audiobook format, though I’m still not thrilled with the way the narrator voices several of the main characters (Connie and Lula, primarily).
As always, I’m impressed that this series still feels fun and not too repetitive with 29 books published.
