WE ARE THE LIGHT is a powerfully moving novel from Matthew Quick, made even better by the fantastic narration of Luke Kirby. The story plays out exclusively in the voice of Lucas Goodgame, through letters he writes to his former therapist (specifically Jungian analyst) after a horrific tragedy. Lucas is the voice of what happens to the survivors struggling to find hope and love and faith in humanity after another human shows us the worst that can lurk within, by taking the lives of many moviegoers in the small town Majestic movie theater. At moments gut wrenching, others poignant and full of hope, I think this is an important book. One of the most layered explorations of grief I've read in some time.
Highly recommend!
