I was intrigued for the first 80% or so and then it went off the rails for me and then I just didn’t care.
I’m a bit sad over this fact. I was really captivated by this trilogy but it just didn’t end up that way.
To be honest I kind of hated Maxen, aka Ash in the other two books, he had all the decisions and had the characters on hold, but it's the same with King Arthur, only in this third book he is totally vindicated by the pen of Sierra Simone
.
In this book we not only see everything from his point of view, his first steps and how he became a soldier, leader and a man with an enormous capacity of love
.
Ash's life was not easy and he found his soul mates at the right times, even if it was not their time to be together
.
Here all my hatred towards King Arthur disappears in this reversal, Ash is just as fair and impressive as Greer and Embry and every other character mention in the previous books
.
plot twist after plot twist this last book loaded with suspense gave me the perfect ending for this legend and from now on I will imagine the characters of this story like the true ones of King Arthur
.
Five stars and if I could, I would give it a thousand for each precious sentence that I marked. Sierra Simone became a writer to watch out and must read her back list for me
.
Thanks to Sierra Simone and Source Books bloom for give me a copy of this beautiful book in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion
Honestly holy shit. For the last week I have been immersed in this series and my goodness did American King deliver. It was everything the finale of this series deserved and then some. My husband couldn’t stop laughing at my face - the tears, the gasps, the swoon - while reading the last ten percent.
This book completely changed my opinion of Ash. It’s introspective and honest to hear things from his perspective, particularly parts of the story we’ve already heard in the previous books. I loved that this book gave us chapters from all three POVs (and even a fourth!) The suspense had me on the edge of my seat and even though this is the longest of the series, I read it the quickest because I couldn’t put it down. Every chapter felt like it’s own cliffhanger. I especially loved the epilogue and the afterword from Sierra which gave a lot of insight into the series!
I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy. All opinions are my own.
Oh my goodness I just could not believe that this series could still be this good three books into the series. Bravo for the well done writing and it kept me on my toes waiting to finish the whole time so I could see where the story would lead us. Thank you to NetGalley for the free copies of this series in exchange for an honest review.
Ash is President of the United-States. He is in a relationship with his Vice-President and best friend, Embry, and his own wife, Greer. His is now facing pain, betrayal and regret.
This is book 3 in the New Camelot Trilogy, and it was not my favorite. There was too much drama, it was too "soap-opera-y", and it got a bit weird. It's mostly told in Ash's POV, and there were lost of twists (that last one?!?! IYKYK). Once again, great spice and chemistry, but there was maybe too much? Book 1 is still my favorite of this series.
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book mostly repeats what we’ve known but mostly from Ash’s point of view. I don’t like that Greer was lost in this book -as in forgetting she is there…again! I feel with Ash and Embry’s years of history, it’s likely he loves Embry more than the love of these two men with Greer, which feels more like insta love and prolonged obsession. What I appreciate from this book is that I can get into Ash’s mind and what makes him the way he is. Also, the end twist and the ending is somehow a better love story than the tragic king Arthur legends. I mean, when you retell a story, and it’s fiction, you want to make it better right. "you can’t get everything you want... unless it’s fiction" 😉

President Ash Colchester has just lost his best friend and Vice President Emory Moore to his enemy. Now he and Greer will be facing off against him in the run for the presidency. Wow did Emory drop a bomb shell on Ashe at the end of American Prince he had a son. A child with the sister he had an affair with before he knew Morgan was his half-sister. Emory has been keeping so many secrets, secrets to keep them safe especially Greer the one woman they both love and he vows to protect her at all costs. Ash soon finds out his sins are no longer secret; his friend and lover Emory is being blackmailed. I love epic love stories and this triangle between Ash, Emory and Greer is heart wrenching to see them suffer so much. They all three have a strong bond, they're fighting for their country, their lives and the love they all share. A great conclusion to Ash, Emory and Greer's story. I have voluntarily read and reviews this excellent book.
3.5 🌟
Thank you Sourcebooks Bloom and Author Sierra Simone for the e-ARC in exchange for a honest review!
Woah this is spicy spicy! This book was drama packed as well as very well written plot! I cried a bit more than I thought I would and I could definitely imagine a movie in my head.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
Oh man- I knew I should never doubt queen author Sierra Simone. Miss girl knew exactly what she was doing when she created the order of the POVs. You get Greer's sweet start to bond them as a throuple, then you get Embry's to cause conflict and deepen all the emotions, then boom! You get Ash who like the daddy dom he is wraps it all up, resolves the conflict even at the risk of his life and takes care of his family.
When you start American Price you are left at another cliff hanger a bit different than the transition from Queen to prince but still gut wrenching. You see Embry's actions from Ash's POV and I have never wanted to take care of a fully grown, very powerful man so badly.
This is the sweet aftercare that I needed after this series and the epilogue had me sobbing all the way through. I'm so happy for my little poly couple and Sierra Simone's ability to emotionally invest the reader in a fantasy is un-freaking-matched.
Long Live the King
What an amazing conclusion to this story.
Hearing Ash's story just wraps up this group and makes this whole trilogy one of my absolute favorites and a comfort read.
This book broke me, ripped me apart, and then put me back together in the best way.
There are some books you read and enjoy but do not remember them and then there are some books you inhale, devour and BREATHE. American King is one of these books.
This series completely wrecked me. It was absolutely insane to watch these three people so in love with each other have to fight so much to be together. I was happy to get some answers to questions that have been plaguing me, and once again this book kept me on the edge of my seat right up until the end.
Ash, Greer and Embry are amazing MCs, and I am well and fully obsessed with them and their relationship. Their chemistry and tension throughout the entire series was absolutely palpable and I just wanted everything for them.
I will say, that this book definitely crossed the line from dramatic into over the top on more than one occasion. I’m not sure the whole Camelot/King Arthur stuff was necessary and I feel like the story would’ve been fine without it.
I was given an ARC by NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books. All opinions are my own.
This HEA was a long time coming; too long actually I didn’t expect that ending but I knew Merlin was hiding something or I was missing something and boy did that “something” blow me away!! Overall ok story, I put it down several times because of all the back story but I pushed on and I cried happy & sad tears but it was worth it.

CW: BDSM, consensual kink, discussions of past reproductive rape, terrorist attack, war/battle recounted, homophobia, suicide by drowning (on-page), gender essentialism, discussions of infertility, unintentional incest, death of spouse (past)
The third book in the series you must read the prior two before diving into this one
I would recommend if you're looking for (SPOILERS)
-MFM kinky Arthur retelling
-love triangle with a happy ending
-angst
-political intrigue
Definitely the angstiest of the three books, Ash's POV is finally introduced and the weight of the world and those he loves is on his shoulders. His life has not been easy (hello secret love child with his half sister) and you know (also being a secret love child for a past president). Feeling betrayed by his best friend/the man he loves this book is just an angst fest as these three try to fight their feelings and try to figure out if there's a way they can all be together.

WOW WOW WOW. Sierra Simone really does it AGAIN! This series was an absolute roller coaster ride in the best possible way. Each book got better and gave me everything I was hoping for in the big finale. I loved the characters' intricacy and seeing how their legendary pasts still came into play. Overall, an excellent series that I can't wait for many others to read!
OMG this series, y’all. It wrecked me, remade me, and has obsessed me. I loved finally getting Ash’s POV. The mix of love and power and kink is so immaculately done. I love every single part of this triad. I was definitely crying during all of the last chapters, but the ending was so beautiful and worth it.
Look, was the mysticism part a little over the top? Yeah maybe, but somehow it all worked. And I loved the author’s note at the end explaining why she wrote the story this way. It was what we needed and I loved it so much.
Yes read this for the spice (top notch) but also read it for this epic love story. Highly recommended.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a requested copy for review. All opinions are my own.
An absolute triumph of a conclusion to this series! I loved the parallels and the beautifully intricate characters. This series is absolutely amazing and well written!
A terrific ending the trilogy. A roller coaster emotional ride.... The plot and the characters are top-notched. The characters are all complicated people and not black and white. Love the ending and how everything ties together at the end.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
I am truly unwell. But wow, what a conclusion to this trilogy! I'm going to have a massive hangover from this. Sierra Simone is a fantastic storyteller; the characters and emotions all felt so real! I bawled so hard towards the end but I couldn't be happier with the ending! Sierra through us for a loop with the late twist, but thank god they all got their HEA. I would give this 100 stars if I could!
Thanks so much, NetGalley and Bloom Books, for the eARC in exchange for my honest review!
