For the last book in the Lords of the Armory series, I was hoping for a little bit more, I'll admit. I really liked the interplay between Cordelia and Clayton, but it always felt a bit like it was missing something. There's a bit of instant love between the two of them, though there's a really great scene where Cordelia and Clayton both commiserate over their respective fathers and how scandals from both of them have shaped their lives. That was a real highlight for me.
But the Scepter of it all just felt a little convoluted, to be honest. In previous installments, it's felt a lot more tied into the plot and ever-threatening, but in this, there's a large chunk of the book where Scepter sort of fades away. I'm not sure what else I would have wanted but there's just a little more in some other books that I preferred over this one.

This is the last book in the Lords of the Armory series. Our hero in this book is General Clayton Elliot, who is a rather unwilling favourite of the Prince Regent's and through his work for the home office has been hunting Sceptor - who is (or are?!) back.
Princess Cordelia is visiting with her Uncle and entourage from the Kingdom of Monrovia, a small, European principality. The idea seems to be to marry her off to a Royal Duke, but before this can happen there is an attempt on her life, which is stopped by Clayton. He takes on the job of keeping her safe which proves to be rather difficult as it transpires that Sceptor is not in fact dead either as a person or a movement, and there is a plot afoot.
I quite enjoyed this book, though at times did find it slightly hard going. It was also a real stretch of the imagination in terms of feasiblity.
But, the main characters are fairly likeable, the baddies a little one dimensional, and the series now tied up neatly enough.
Received an ARC from Netgalley.

This is the last in the Lords of Armory series. It was a wonderful way to finish the series and put an end to Sceptor. As usual, it was wonderfully written with great characters and a storyline that keeps you turning the page. I found it hard to put down. There was adventure, suspense and of course lots of romance and sex which this reviewer skipped as usual but it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the story. Anything that Ms Harrington writes is well worth the read and I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next. I received this as an ARC and freely gives my review.

This is the 6th book in the Lords of the Armory series. We met General Clayton Elliot who has been on the search for an organized crime group called Scepter, but London has been too quiet. When attending a royal party he sees a woman being attacked and helps her. She turns out to be Princess Cordelia of Monrovia. Clayton becomes her bodyguard to find out answer about the person who was hired to kill her and that might be part of Scepter. They both are bound to a duty they don't want and start to connect with each other.
I liked the relationship of Clayton and Cordelia. Even though they are not meant to be together because of their status they get closer because of the similar backgrounds they have with their parents. They are both bound by duties to make up for their fathers mistakes. I really enjoyed the pining for each other and chapter 23 is my favorite.

When Clayton sees Cordelia he is instantly intrigued. After saving Cordelia from being attacked, he assigns himself to protect her. Cordelia doesn’t know who to trust when she finds out that someone wants her dead. She just knows she trusts General Clayton. After spending much time together, they realize they can not deny the desire they feel for each other. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for my honest review.

A Problem Princess was a thrill ride from beginning to end!
I have been loving this series so far and I think this one is my favorite yet. I am a sucker for bodyguard romances, add a princess in the mix and I'm going to love it. I thought the spy/mystery plot was interesting too. It kept an almost 500 page book fast paced and intriguing.
The romance is superb. Again, bodyguard romances are my catnip so this was perfect for me. I love a protective, grumpy hero and Clayton was that am more. He's book boyfriend material for sure. Cordelia was a princess but she was capable and a force to be reckoned with. These two were a perfect match for each other. Plus this was steamier than expected!
Would recommend for those who enjoy: bodyguard romances, alpha heroes, protective heroes, grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract, royal romances, Regency romance, historical romance and steamy romances.

Clear your schedule and dive into the latest installment in Anna Harrington’s marvelous Lords of the Armory series. A Problem Princess takes us on a thrilling adventure with Home Office Undersecretary General Clayton Elliott and Her Serene Highness Princess Cordelia of Monrovia. Brimming with the palace intrigue of two countries, Clayton and Cordelia must face their differences - in rank, their personal duty to their respective countries, and the anarchist group Scepter - if they are to achieve their happily ever after. Highly recommended, as is the whole Lords of the Armory series. Can’t wait to see what Anna Harrington has in store for us next.

Each book in this series is better than the last. The hero and heroine in this book are special. The heroine has to overcome a lot and the hero has issues too. This story is both laugh out loud funny at times and also tear inducing.

So, Anna Harrington has done it again. If you’re looking for adventure and mystery, some intrigue, some spicy and steamy, plus characters you’ll really like, look no further. I’ve been following Clayton since the first book in the Lords of the Armory series. He’s actually one of my very favorite characters and I’ve waited to learn more about him. All we know to this point is he is an undersecretary for the Home Office, one of Marcus‘s soldiers, and always there to put things right. He is beyond reproach and, frankly, gorgeous but we never hear anything about him going from bed to bed or causing any sort of ruckus that’s not for King & Country.
So of course, I was really happy to hear that he was finally getting his own story. His own happily ever after, right? But his story is one of the most complicated ones and you’re going to wonder if that happily ever after can actually happen because overachiever he is, he can’t just fall in love with a normal woman. Oh no, Clayton has to fall in love with an actual princess. He may be a general now, but he’s still a commoner ex soldier so it’s not going to be easy.
And what a princess, Cordelia is from a small country and clearly, they feel that her only worth is whether she can find a British duke to marry. But she is young and beautiful and intelligent and principled . . . and someone is trying to kill her. And and when someone is trying to kill you in Britain, the only one who can save you is Clayton Elliot. Fate brought them together. But, is fate strong enough, because he really is absolutely unsuitable for any princess. He’s got his own demons and skeletons in the closet. But the thing is, so does the princess.
I want to say this is a fitting end to the series, but you never know if this is the actual end. And there are a couple other Lords of the Armory who have been mentioned but we have not seen more of. Perhaps they will have novellas? But Clayton and Cordelia’s story does wrap everything up beautifully. It might be one of my favorite books in the series. Clayton is definitely one of my favorite people. For fans of the series, we do see our favorites from time to time, even Pearce who we haven’t seen much of since his novel (I love him).
This definitely is a 4 1/2 star read that will be rounded up to five for netgalley. I am warning you that there is a lot of mystery and intrigue so if you are looking for pure romance, just be patient. But the mystery and intrigue is important throughout the series because, if it weren’t for that, there would be no need for the Lords!
If the author should read this, I would love to read more about Madame Noir! There’s a lot going on at her past and so many questions in her present that make me want to know more about her. She is such a fun character. And she’s got secrets!

What a satisfying addition to the Lords of the Armory series. Or is it the end? Either way, there was intrigue and spying, political intrigue and royal lines of succession, mutual pining and bravery, spice and so much love. Clayton has been a mysterious character throughout the series, and Cordelia is his perfect match.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.

Such a thrilling book, murder, mystery, spy masters, conspiracy, regency manners and romance. I loved it!

A continuation of the series about the eveil group Scepter that threatens England. This time the story is about General Clayton Elliot, new viscount and Home office undersecretary. Princess Cordelia was supposed to make a match with one of the royal duke but was attacked at a party. Clayton becomes her bodyguard and they fall in love....
Love this series... It's steamy and romantic. Love Clayton and Cordelia together. They are perfect together. A terrific plot with a intriguing mystery.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
