Her Father's Daughter by T.M. Dunn is a fast-paced thriller that immediately drew me in and kept me turning pages late into the night. Populated with complex and well-developed characters, the story held my interest and kept me guessing. I enjoyed the way the author vascillated between past and present. Fascinating and disturbing, this one may haunt my thoughts for awhile!
Thank you NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is a psychological tale with family drama, plenty of twists, suspense and the mystery, as a serial killer is on the loose.
Linda helps her dad with their exterminator business. Her dad is depressed over the suicide of her mother right after Linda was born. On the anniversary of her mother's death, Linda goes to their most influential client's property to exterminate the mice to keep the family business up and running. What she finds is more than a pest to be removed!
This is a dark tale that will make you question how well you know your loved ones . With twists, red flags, and mystery, I found myself on edge to the very end.
Highly recommend!!
i mean this so genuinely when i say that this is by far one of the best, most interesting, most captivating, insane, crazy, unique, and fan-fucking-tastic books i have EVER read. no exaggeration!!
this book consumed me and spat me out, over and over and over again. i cant explain it.
the MIND of this author blows MY mind! everything about this book and its plot and characters and twists are so precise, so perfectly planned, so complex. being inside of the mind of linda's father felt like pure insanity - in the most rational way possible!
i could go on forever about this book, but at the same time i am speechless! so im gonna shut up now!!
PLEASE read this book. prepare to have your mind fucking blown!!!!!!
1000000000000/5 stars. please read.

I was really excited about this book, the plot seemed great. There are 2 separate timelines telling the story of Linda’s parents love story and actions of her father in the past and the current one of Linda at 25 years old and a murder investigation. Unfortunately I really struggled through reading about the father’s past, the pace was so slow and not holding my interest. From reading the description I expected more of a fast-paced serial killer murder investigation. The present day timeline is a lot more fast paced and I truly did enjoy reading those chapters.
I did find the character development brilliant and the characters were realistic - their actions and motivations made sense for how they were written. The writing made me sympathize with Linda and even Anthony despite everything.
3.5 stars rounded down simply because of my enjoyment level. If the chapters from the past were a little faster paced this would be a big winner for me.

This was a really interesting book, glad I read it.
Well I'm not to sure about this book?! Geez it was a crazy morbid kind of gross story! Not sure how the author came up with this one?! It had suspense, intrigue, gruesome murder, a serial killer, and a few crazy twists! The storyline was very interesting but as I said it was gruesome! It did flow nicely! But reader beware its a little rough on the stomach lol I will recommend reading it because its definitely worth reading its just a little rough reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
Thank you NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for access to the ARC.
Her Father's Daughter literally punched me in the face with some really intense stuff right from the very start.
Our main character Linda is faced with a lot of very heavy events all in a row, causing her extreme stress. Not only does she need to lean on her ex for support during a serious time of need, but her and father feel they may lose their entire livelihood. Turns out, that is the smaller of the challenges they are facing.
The dark kept getting darker as I read further into this story. It made me question how well people ever really know each other. With twists, red flags, and mystery, I found myself on edge to the very end.
I enjoyed this highly, thank you.
Wow! Finally I’m out of my patience! My main motto is giving enough chance to authors’ brilliant way of thinking and reflecting their opinions into fictional worlds! I always try my best to pass: dnf option! But this time : I couldn’t finish it! I stopped reading around first half and decide to waste my energy for other painful chores (folding entire year’s laundry, waxing my eyebrows , trying to cook fancy French meals I’ve seen on Instagram and getting failed after seventh attempt)
Okay, I wanted to put a smile on your face with my blabbering so I could get rid of my negative energy about my unsatisfied reading experience.
The extra detailed and mostly a little weird descriptions, dislikable characters and a little odd, unusual but not in a good way writing style gave me hard time to get into the story and so gave up and decided to give a pass!
I’m rounding up 2.5 stars to 3 for promising blurb and interesting plot line but unfortunately execution of the story failed me!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest opinions.
I was hobbling through this book because it had an interesting premise and I was intrigued. However the author was overly descriptive. I ultimately gave this one up about the 30% mark where the term fat rat was used in three sentences in a row. That was my tipping point. The writing style was also odd and I didn’t “get it”. The author used a mix of overly descriptive sentences, then short sloppy sentences. I have so many books I’m looking forward to, that reading one like this just doesn’t make sense. I feel bad DNFing a book, but in this case it was necessary.
I struggled with this book. It had a good premise, A great plot, and I was so intrigued, but the writing was so hard to read. I just couldn't get into the story unfortunately.

Suspense, anxiety inducing, you’ll be creeped out from the moment you start reading.
This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. I could not get into this book at all. Perhaps others might.
