I had not read any of the other books in this series before reading this and I did not feel lost at all. This can definitely be read as stand-alone. While the plot of a husband lost at sea for seven years returning on the wedding day of the presumed widow is a bit unbelievable, but I don't usually read books for believability. I want to get immersed in the characters, the romance, and the strife, and that is exactly what happened with this book. Lori Wilde is a great writer and I have enjoyed everything I have read of hers. You can't go wrong!
In "Presidential" Lola Keeley delivers a compelling political romance filled with passion and intrigue. Though at times the political backdrop may overshadow the romance, Keeley's nuanced characters and sharp dialogue make for an engaging read that offers both escapism and food for thought.
This is a unique love story, certainly not a simple one. There’s a wedding but not an easy happily ever after. If you are fans of virgin river and small town complications this book is for you.
Thank you #avon and #NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review I’m
This is a sweet romance. The only issue I had was when the husband came back home after being stranded on a desert island and no one notified the family. It just did not seem right. I understand that is a better “wow” factor but it just is not how it is done. But, it is a pretty good tale with a great setting and good characters.
I was lucky to receive an advance copy of The Wedding at Moonglow Bay by Lori Wilde from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. This is the 4th book in the Moonglow Bay series and I loved it just as much as the first three books. Quick, easy, fun read that will leave you smiling when it ends.
Lori Wilde pens a love story that will grab your attention and heart. You’ll be feeling all the feels with Samantha’s story. Lots of twists and turns will leave you wanting to read the next book. Great read!
Traveling With T’s Thoughts:
I thought The Wedding at Moonglow Bay sounded completely cute, but one other reason I requested it was because I was getting married in 2023 🙂
Lori Wilde creates settings and characters that I really do enjoy.
What I Liked:
This cover is so gorgeous
Samantha was a strong character. She recognized that there was no easy choice and yet- she wanted to make the best choice for her family.
The contrast between Luca and Nick. They both had great qualities and yet they both weren’t without flaws.
What I didn’t love:
The lightning strike. I did get a wee bit tired of that angle.
Bottom line: This book had some sweet moments. It was a bit slow at times, but I liked where the story ended up.
*This book was sent to Traveling With T for review consideration. All thoughts and opinions are mine alone.*
I've read a few Christmas themed books by Lori Wilde previously, so I was quite eager to pick up The Wedding At Moonglow Bay. As it turns out, this book was quite different from the others I've read by Wilde. First, The Wedding At Moonglow Bay is the fourth in the Moonglow Cove series. So, I walked into this book without a lot of context. It is about Samantha, whose husband Nick, went missing seven years ago when he went out for a sail. Now, Samantha is about to say I do to Luca, Nick's brother. Only, her happily ever after is about to be interrupted by a man who claims he is Samantha's missing husband, Nick. Samantha must pick which man to spend her future with.
The Wedding At Moonglow Bay is quite dramatic. I mean, you've got Samantha who is about to get married again when all these wild events start happening on her wedding day -- including a youtuber who specializes in wedding scandals showing up at the rehearsal dinner and other wedding festivities. The choice between Luca and Nick is clear. Luca is patient, kind and mature. Meanwhile, Nick has engaged in some questionable, selfish behaviors, I thought. Samantha, by the way, is a wonderful thoughtful character. The narration was satisfactory. The audiobook narrator is Teri Schnaubelt who was totally new to me. I had no issues with the narration whatsoever and would listen to another book with the same reader. It is 9 hours unabridged and a decent listen. You do not need to read any other book from this series to be able to understand what is going on.
Wow. This one was complex. A story that started so happily took quite the turn when Samantha's presumed dead husband returns on the eve of her wedding to his brother. Although there is some romance, and a happily ever after, the heart of this story is relationships and family. And the need to discover who you are as your own person, which is what Samantha ultimately had to do.
This one really gave me all of the feelings, with a great beach setting. I really enjoyed it!
I love Lori Wilde - this one wasn't my favorite. It took a minute to get through and I wasn't that excited to read it. I definitely skimmed.
The Wedding at Moonglow Bay is a contemporary women’s fiction story about the different types of love one can experience. The author explores romantic love versus mature love and how the main characters finally see the difference. Samantha Riley’s first marriage was love at first sight, like a lightning strike. Her marriage to Nick was young love and it crushed under the demands of life and parenthood. Soon after, Nick was lost at sea and declared dead after 7 years. Now she is about to marry his older brother Luca and things go terribly wrong when Nick shows up out of the blue to declare he wants his wife back. How does one deal with the aftermath and the confused feelings she has for both men?
Samantha goes on an emotional journey to figure out her feelings and how the notion of limerence plays a big part of her love for Nick. The obsessive and encompassing love isn’t a real love to base a marriage and a lasting relationship. Samantha’s loss of her parents and the many foster homes she was raised in played a big part of wanting to be loved, and to be part of a family. The added twist of betrayal and secrets push Samantha to making major changes in her life and her daughter’s life too, in order to get some clarity and a chance to stand on her own.
I’m a fan of Lori Wilde and her romance series but I have to say that this story was a departure from her typical stories. It was a book about romance and not a romance. It explored the many faces of love and how it evolves over time and can be painful and messy and hard to deal with. Storylines were tidied up too neatly and too soon for my taste, but I presume, with time and perspective, there would be forgiveness and time to build trust again. I liked the story for what she was trying to explore but hope that it doesn’t become the norm.
I enjoyed this book. It was an interesting read . I found that I was able to read quickly and enjoyed the pacing and premise of the book. I would recommend to others.
The Wedding at Moonglow Bay by Lori Wilde is the fourth book in the widely popular Moonglow Cove series, that can be enjoyed as a stand alone. In this love triangle between Samantha, and Nick and Luca. My heart was torn and Lori Wilde took us through a journey of what it means to love and follow your heart.
When Samantha's presumed dead husband shows up the day of the wedding to see his wife is marrying his brother! things get complicated quickly. . Seven years ago Luca's brother Nick, to whom she was married, went sailing and never returned. Everyone thought him dead. When Nick returns he thinks that he should take his rightful place as Sam's husband, and Luca needs to step aside. But what is fair? W hat does Sam want? And their child who did not know her father but is now forging a relationship with him? A fun beach or pool read, perfect for larger library collections
In this book the h's husband has been declared dead and she is now planning to marry his brother. Just before the wedding, the supposedly dead husband reappears after being found alive. Drama follows; what should happen. Should the h remain married or continue to plan to marry her fiance?
I received an ARC copy from Net Galley
Love whether it hits like a lightning bolt or sparks embers, it's a powerful elixir. When Sammie first locks eyes with Nick, in high school her world tilts and she knew he would forever be part of her life. Years after Nick is listed as missing, Sam begins to put together the pieces of her life.
A new love fanned its flames and Sam was finally ready for a new start. When the past comes back to haunt her, Sam is forced to examine what she wants out of life. Will she chose a love that rocked her to the core or a steadfast relationship that provides a new destiny?
Thank you to #NetGalley and the publisher for the early edition in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed the book but without giving anything away was disappointed by a character's actions. After a rocky road everything seemed to tie up with a bow to quickly and I would have preferred a slower-paced ending to resolve the issues.
The Wedding at Moonglow Bay is the last book in the series. For me I felt there were too many stories in this book. It became confusing in the middle. I would read other books by this other, however this did not meet my expectations.
Lori Wilde's books are wonderful. The story sucks you in and you don't want the book to end, The Wedding at Moonglow Bay was great as usual. I really wouldn't have wanted to have a problem like they did.
Not at all what I was expecting. Samantha’s husband is found alive after 7 years and returns on her wedding night…to his brother. As Nick learns how to readjust back in civilization, Sam finds herself torn between the two brothers.
This is a poignant and emotional story. I was definitely engrossed in it, but admit I was thinking it would be a lighter, contemporary romance. Nick’s brother, Luca, was my favorite and he has the patience of a saint!
Thanks to the publisher for a review copy via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Even though this is a series it stands alone. It grabs you from the start. How can your husband return from the dead on your Wedding day. The twist and turns will keep you reading all night!
