As both a therapist and a person with ADHD I found this an interesting read. I have struggled with mindfulness as I struggle to sit for long periods but I do use shorter exercises which I find helpful.

This book provides a lot of information and exercises which are helpful. It is a bit wordy and repetitive which can be difficult when you have inattentive ADHD.

I would recommend this book to people who are looking to develop their mindfulness skills.

I love this workbook, especially since it walked through how you can use the ebook fully! The flow of the workbook builds seamlessly and it doesn’t feel too daunting to work through it.

The Mindfulness Workbook for ADHD is a comprehensive guide to mildfulness, introspection and self assessment, targeted particularly at ADHD.

** Caveat: I have not been diagnosed with ADHD, but as I go through this journey with my ADHD child, I recognise some of the traits within myself. **

Honestly - the first couple of chapters were quite dense and intimidating, as they detailed ADHD and Mindfulness. After that, the chapters break out into stepped mindful exercises designed to be tackled sequentially, after completing the previous chapter. There are sections to assess your own feelings and responses to particular events so you are able to keep track of your progress. And there are case studies of people with ADHD , exploring the themes within each chapter.

The workbook chapters explore how to commence mindful activities, how to react in non-judgemental ways, patience, acceptance, relationships, being in the moment, and letting go of baggage.

I did find the book to be very text-heavy and the activities/practices were mixed in with the rest of the content, which made them difficult (for me) to refer back to. The final section - "A Final Word" does list all of the practices, as a handy reference guide, but I would have preferred the text to be broken up into clearer sections, with more visual cues.

This may assist some people - ADHD or not - with building a mindful practice, but it wasn't for me

I got this book because my 13 year old son has ADHA and I was hoping it might help me understand his condition better and maybe pass on some strategies to help him and it did give me a better insight into his condition, but the activities in this book are more suited to an adult that a teen.

This book was written by two doctors, and it shows, it reads more like a university textbook or a pamphlet you might get from a doctors office, which considering the target audience, I think a more informal style would have worked better.

I also would have like to see a bit more focus on the positive aspects of ADHD and how they might be able to use these aspects to aid them and improve their confidence in themselves.

all in all it has some useful information and strategies, but the deliver may not suit everyone.

If you've always wanted to know more about mindfulness but are not sure where to start, this could be a really good resource.

However, the distractibility and inability to maintain routines and organize, that come with ADHD would make it extremely difficult to successfully complete this workbook alone.

I've never been diagnosed, but I have inattentive type ADD characteristics and it runs in my family so I can relate to the struggles.

I'd give it a 2-3* for solo use and a 4-5* for use in a therapeutic context or together with a trusted friend/ loved one that needs help understanding ADHD and could benefit from the mindfulness techniques (aka everyone!).

I've completed MBCT mindfulness-based therapy and translated meditations, so I'm not necessarily the right audience for this workbook, plus I didn't necessarily complete the workbook due to time constraints, but I'm thankful to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review this digital ARC!

Living with a diagnosis of ADHD can be very challenging. There are many different methodologies that can be utilized for treating the symptoms of ADHD. This book by Dr. Lewis and Dr. Foubister presents tools and techniques that can be utilized to combat the symptoms of ADHD. The methodology that was presented in this book centered on the techniques of mindfulness. The book starts with a guide of how to utilize the book. The workbook is designed for ease of use by the reader and it Is recommended that that the reader work through it in the order in which it is written. This workbook has 2 distinct parts with nine chapters. Part one of this workbook provides information about ADHD and the practice of mindfulness. Part two of the workbook educates the reader on the practice of mindfulness to manage ADHD. In each chapter there is so much that is provided: patient stories, exercises to complete, and vital takeaways from the chapter. This book is a good easy read in that each chapter is broken down into small chunks, and is easy for the reader to understand and implement. This book is one that I would recommend to anyone diagnosed with ADHD and interested in using the practice of mindfulness for symptom management. My husband recently discovered he has ADHD and we've been working together to improve on some habits he struggles with as a result (e.g. forgetfulness). This book had heaps of knowledge that has been helpful in understanding my husband and his ADHD. I appreciate that the book was written by two doctors so I know this information is more reliable than a random website found through google. I will still do my due diligence and research more but this was a good summary of information!

I wanted to read this because I have ADHD. I will say, there were many ideas in this book such as the letting goof expectations and mindfulness of feelings that I will be using more often.
I was looking for more information in general but overall it was great workbook.

I found this book very helpful since a family member has been recently diagnosed with ADHD. I wanted to be able to help them at being more mindful to help them live with ADHD better. The more we work together the stronger they are at drawing on the tools that are given in this book.

I enjoy getting books like this that are written by Doctors who are knowledgeable in the field it helps me to feel that it is coming from a very reliable source.

My daughter was diagnosed with ADD when she in elementary school. It was a tough battle with the school system and late nights of crying doing homework. When we decided to take college classes, she called me and told me she still had ADD like she was surprised it had not gone away. She has had to find ways to deal with being an adult without medication on her own. This is a book I wish was around when she was becoming an adult. It could have provided her guidance for dealing with the stress of having a brain that processes the world differently. The exercises are short and easy to follow. If you have ADHD or know someone diagnosed with it, this book will help. I highly recommend this book.

Overall I really enjoyed this workbook, and think it could be helpful for some people with ADHD. It felt a bit overwhelming at the start of the book, because there is so much information and background that has to be given (understandably!). However, once you get a few chapters in and actually get to the workbook part, it was quite nice. I enjoyed the questions/activities, and honestly love the mindfulness tools and practices that can help with ADHD. I will be coming back to this book in the future as well to do some of the activities again!

Really well thought out and mapped out workbook to help start a journey of mindfulness with an ADHD diagnosis. It’s easy to forget to continue on a program and figure out how to set goals and where to start with mindfulness but this workbook has easily broken it down into bite size pieces to work on.

Having recently been diagnosed with ADHD, I jumped at the opportunity to read and review this book. I plan to purchase it, because it is more of a workbook and I'd like to be able to write and highlight as I flip the pages.

This book is a tool, and can be used in conjunction with medication, cognitive behavioral therapy, or both. It discusses the seven pillars of mindfulness, what each means, and how to work with each one. Utilizing this book is the definition of self help; in taking the time to observe and understand your thoughts, you can improve your happiness, functioning, and quality of life.

I don't have ADHD but I was diagnosed at a young age with ADD. As I'm getting older I find sleeping is hard a lot of the time because my mind and body feel chaotic and won't shut off. I find a lot of the time in my daily life, it's hard to focus and organize what I need to do or get done. For instance, I can have a small list of 3 major things I want to get done one day but by the end of the day I started 5 didn't side projects and maybe completed one of the 3 major things.

I thought maybe this could help me. I refuse drugs and like to find alternative ways to self help. I've tried meditation (didn't work) and there was a part where they basically wanted you to do the same thing but with a candle, quiet, and pushing out all thoughts. I started filling out the workbook, which was interesting, I just dont see how it helps.

I also don't need repeated definitions of ADHD and the symptoms. If people are picking up this book, I would think they know what it is so that got annoying and repetitive as well. Maybe others will get something out of this book but I really didn't get a whole lot of anything so I stopped reading it about 50% in.

This resource is somewhat overwhelming (for someone with ADHD), but it is thorough. The key takeaways at the end of each chapter help, but I tend to get very frustrated with mindfulness practices as a treatment for ADHD. Part of the issue is people with ADHD can't be still and focus long enough for mindfulness to help much.

The Mindfulness Workbook for ADHD is a great workbook for those who are trying to find inspiration and focus when it comes to living with ADHD. The workbook lays out strategies to improve focus without overwhelming the mind causing confusion.
This workbook might clean up misconceptions about ADHD along with what works and what might not work and why it won't. ADHD is different for everyone so what might work for one will not work for another. This book gives person a place to start.

A really great workbook for understanding ADHD, understanding the foundations of mindfulness, and how to practice mindfulness with an ADHD mind. I appreciated the acknowledgement that this book is not meant to be a replacement for therapy or medicine, and that you complete it however best works for you (including skipping parts and/or completing things out of order).

I like how this book was structured the chapters were easy to read and the key takeaways in each chapter were great summarizations of the information discussed in the previous section. I also enjoyed the individual descriptions of people with ADHD and how they were able to use mindfulness for their own improvement. This book was really helpful to me and I learned a lot reading it. I think everyone, no matter if they have ADHD or not, could benefit from the exercises and the information in this book.

I was actually quite scared to start this book, because it is nonfiction and I never read nonfiction, and my ADHD makes it nearly impossible for me to read boring things, which is actually ironic considering this is a book for ADHD. I skipped through some parts but I definitely would purchase this as my guide for when things get hard. This book is nice. I liked that there was a Key Takeaway part that summarised things. I also liked that there were parts that divided between myth and fact. It was interesting to be able to ‘interact’ with it. It’s definitely a helpful book to get things done.
