Cute, cute, cute! This is a stand-alone book. I have not read any of the other books in this series. It’s a fast read, interesting, cute storyline. The main characters are fairly well developed and easy to keep up with. It’s true life with hardships, love, loss and family. Blue Moon Haven is an old dilapidated, shuttered drive-in movie establishment. I will not tell any more of the story but who doesn’t love a drive-in movie with popcorn and cotton candy? I will recommend to family and friends. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an advance copy for my honest review.
3.5/5. Short and sweet. Kelly is in way over her head. After becoming the guardian of her late best friend's two children, she uproots them all to make a new start in a new town in order to take on the daunting responsibility of reviving and managing the town's run-down drive-through cinema. While battling new parental duties against antagonism from the older child, she is also fighting another front butting heads with the cantankerous neighbour, Seth. All this while trying to achieve the impossible of breathing life back into an old lady's dream.
The romance progressed a bit too quickly, but I enjoyed Kelly's gradual winning over of the kids, who were quite cute and winsome.
Thank you Kensington Books and Netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Wooo how I love the single parent trope in a small town romance! Everything was perfectly executed, with Kelly starting from scratch and all.
Seth was a wonderful man, his character development was amazing to read. How he let the past go and let the present in, how sweet he was to accepting Kelly, Todd and Daisy.
And I adore Kelly— she was strong, patient, loving and everything we would ever want in a mother.
The drive-in plot was done perfectly, too.
Couldn’t have been happier to get my hands on this book before its publication on 25 April 2023, but I am!
Need an epilogue please :)
This book takes you back to another time and place. The drive inn helps the people relax I love the storyline about the drive inn movie theater. I have a movie theater close by so I can relate to this story.. I like to go there to watch movies too. This book was approved by netgalley and the publisher for me to read and review.
Getting over the past…living in the present…looking forward to the future. This cozy romance is a quick fun read. The characters are likable and realistic. Love and romance…friendship..children and senior citizens…the main character is trying to keep a job and help an elderly woman. She has taken over the guardianship of two children. Can they accomplish their huge task? Working together helps.. enter the love interest, and he helps…oops…there comes the dad…what will he do? This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. I liked this book.
