I thought this was brilliant. I adored Miel Moreland's debut and had high hopes for SLP. I thought it tackled issues honestly without the just glossing over issues unrealistically. I identified with the main character's little over-achieving heart and it made it easy to root for her as she navigated life. Miel Moreland is easily becoming an auto-buy author for me.

This is the kind of book I wish I had when I was in middle school and high school. Having a young bisexual character that was strong and navigating high school is so important. The representation in this book is wonderful as well. This is a book that you'll want to sit down and take time to read, it holds such great lessons for young people and even those older than the characters. I may not still be in high school, but reading this book brought me back to then and I loved that.

A piece that I really enjoyed was that Maddie's love life was not entirely the main focus. You get bits and pieces but it's well balanced with the plot of the campaign.

SPOILER STARTS The more intense parts that deal with the assault and the group of students standing together against their teacher were such a wonderful piece to the story. The way it was handled by the students gives me hope for younger people reading this in knowing that they are not alone and that there are others that can be there for them. SPOILER ENDS

Thank you to Fierce Reads and Netgalley for an arc of this book.

When Madison's girlfriend dumps her and fires her as campaign manager on the same day, she knows she needs a new plan--and a new candidate to back. Enter Victoria, who is the best candidate for the job of junior class president. But more than just class campaigns are on the line in this novel!

I loved this so much and absolutely devoured it. I stayed up way too late reading and didn't want to put it down. Madison is such an amazing, driven, talented, focused, and passionate person! I loved her so much as a main character and she was so easy to root for. Victoria is also amazing and their besties Amrita and Louis are so great!

I love the campaign storyline and the sexual assault parts had me bawling. This story is so important and handles sensitive topics delicately and with the care they deserve. Madison is so brave and I sincerely love her.

I love everything about this book and know it will be one that holds a special place in my heart for a long long time to come. "No broken hearts."

CW: sexual assault, grooming, outing, lesbophobia, biphobia, slurs

Thank you for arc I really appreciate it. This was very cute. I enjoy it but I feel like the book was kinda slow. But in the end it worth it to keep going.

Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this eARC.

This was definitely a sweet and enjoyable read but I didn't particularly enjoy the writing and some of the storytelling, but I'm also not the target audience. I did love Madison and our other characters.

This was very different than what I expected after reading It Goes Like This. The writing style felt a lot more mainstream and less unique to the author, maybe due to the younger target audience. But regardless, the story was perfectly paced and executed and I had a lot of fun getting to know Madison and the rest of the cast. Miel Moreland proves she is still the master of YA sapphic fiction.

Freshly dumped by her girlfriend, fired from being said girlfriend’s campaign manager, and rear-ending the student government advisor, Madison is having a pretty rough day. Madison is determined to win a spot at a prestigious youth politics summer camp, she is all about managing campaigns, so when her girlfriend dumps her out of the blue and fires her from her campaign, Madison decides it’s time to find new candidates to help. Madison soon finds herself helping the charming and beautiful Victoria. Madison soon is spending more time with a group of queer classmates and then discovers a pattern of harassment within the student government... and Madison will have to face something she wasn’t expecting at all. From making new friends to running a campaign to finding new love and helping speak up against harassment and inappropriate behavior, this was a lovely story about one girl’s journey through some difficult times. This story deals with a lot of heavy stuff too so I would definitely recommend reading the trigger warnings before going into it but I think it tells a really important message and is done really well.

*Thanks Netgalley and Macmillan Children's Publishing Group, Feiwel & Friends for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*

Actual rating 3.5 stars.

For a long time, I thought Something Like Possible would be a three-star read. Cute, very easy to read, but a bit too much high school drama for my taste, and somehow I didn’t care for Madison that much. I even got a bit restless and wanted the story to be finished (which means I started skim-reading at times), so I could pick up another book. And then the last quarter of the book began.

It felt like there were two stories in one. Those stories belonged together, don’t get me wrong, but the tone of the book shifted in the last part. Suddenly I was like, no, this can’t be true, and my chest tightened. A bit later goosebumps danced over my skin. Whereas the first three quarters were the easy-to-read high school drama, the last quarter was intense and far more emotional. As a sucker for darker stories with important topics, I loved the last quarter the most, and that’s why I rounded my 3.5-star rating up in the end. Be aware, though, that this part could be triggering.

I thought this was a sweet story of how important visibility is for younger people! I loved the way that the queer girls supported each other throughout the text and how supporting each other came before the competition. I wasn't expecting the heavy plot line at the end but I think it held an important message.

I really enjoyed this book! The romance part of the book was super cute and executed really well! I liked how the relationship conflicts were handled and that other central themes were explored more rather than prolonging miscommunications between the love interests. I was not expecting the last quarter of the book to be as heavy as it was (not bad heavy, just heavy). I loved the community aspect and resolution to that part of the book. If you identify as a nerd I think you'll identify with the main character so give this a try!
