Does a title of a book ever suck you in immediately? I new nothing about How to Destroy Your Husband but the title alone made me want to read it. I rarely do this, go into a book blind, but it made no difference to the outcome and my opinion of the story. It was a phenomenal, edge of your seat, nail biting intense thriller. I could not put it down, and read it in a day. A definite easy five star read for me. This is the first book I have read by Jess Kitching and I cannot wait to read more of her work. Thank you so much Kingsley Publishers, Netgalley and Jess Kitching for my arc in exchange for my honest review.

I do love a good revenge thriller and that was the reason I requested this book. It's a little tired old plot - woman gets cheated on, goes on revenge spree but Kitching does fairly well with it.

That said, I did think the pace was a little slow for what you'd expect from this genre. One other criticism is that I know that we are supposed to suspend our disbelief a little in these situations but the actions of the main character were a little unrealistic and not completely relatable. Was also disappointed by the ending.

Overall an average thriller read.

As Cassie excitedly gets closer to the wedding day she has been planning for months, a friend at work shows her a photo exposing her fiancé Jamie as a cheat. Completely blindsided by the betrayal of the man she loves and trusts, Cassie cannot believe what she is seeing and a searing rage takes hold of her. As Cassie plots the ultimate revenge against her cheating partner, she starts to uncover more secrets which leave her questioning whether she really knows the man she is living with and if their entire relationship is a lie.
My heart was in my mouth at times, there were twists that completely transformed the direction of the plot and left me completely unsure of where it would end. I found myself anxious for the wellbeing of the characters and rooting for Cassie all the way through. I would have loved to have understood a bit better why the character of Jamie took the twists that it did but I suppose that is one of the frustrations with people like this in real life. Absolutely gripping!

Cassandra Edwards is about to marry the love of her life, fellow schoolteacher, Jamie. Jamie is a kind, loving, thoughtful partner and the two have a happy life together. Cassie is in the thick of planning their perfect, picture book wedding when she gets some very bad news.

When Cassie’s work colleague tells her that Jamie has been spotted kissing another woman, she embarks on a plan to destroy her future husband. She is determined to find out everything she can about Jamie’s affair, so she can use the information against him. Her covert operation has her pretending to friends and family that nothing is amiss, as she spies on her fiancé and plans her revenge.

Cassie’s mission to uncover the truth about her fiancé takes her down a rabbit hole into a dark and dangerous world of online misogyny and narcissism. Like the crazy mirrors in a side-show, Cassie’s world, and the man she thought she knew so well, are reflected back in alarming and distorted shapes. But Cassie’s not about to give up without a fight. In her quest for revenge, she risks her safety, her sanity, and the stability of a life she worked so hard to achieve.

How to Destroy Your Husband is the story of a young woman striking back at the betrayal of the man she was about to pledge her life to. Her rage-fueled mission raises some interesting questions about the efficacy of revenge, and the far-reaching consequences for all in its orbit.

How to Destroy You Husband is a fast-paced and intriguing story that I ripped through in a matter of days. Cassie grows from being a compliant and unsuspecting victim to a strong and self-assured woman. I loved seeing how the story played out, and the ambiguity of the ending, which saw the chips falling in some very unusual ways. A gripping tale of domestic suspense, How to Destroy Your Husband, questions how well we really know the people we are closest to.

Great story, and brilliant story telling.
I utterly hate when men act so disrespectfully towards women, I was 1000% on team Cassie.
The ending was as good as it was unexpected. I totally recommend it

This one fell flat for me. I couldn't get into the characters and absolutely hated the ending. It's not one that I'd recommend to my readers.

I absolutely loved Jess's debut. It was one of my favourite reads last year. So I was excited when she revealed this gem was coming out and I can honestly say it was absolutely worth waiting for!

I loved the build up throughout the story. I was completely gripped, the need to know how it all ends increasing with every chapter. As the story progresses, more secrets and lies are revealed and I found it harder and harder to put down.

My only reason for dropping a star is that one of the big moments in the story felt a bit rushed and not quite how I thought it would go. However I still thoroughly enjoyed the story and cannot wait for her next book!!

I thought that this was really good but the ending let me down SO hard. Besides that I was having a great time, it was extremely fast paced, and my jaw dropped on more than one occasion. Even though this was on the longer side, I didn't feel like I was bored at any points and overall just had a fantastic time.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

WOW! WHAT A STORY!
HOW TO DESTROY YOUR HUSBAND by Jess Kitching is one wild ride.
Cassie is just weeks away from the end of the school term and her wedding to the love of her life, Jamie when someone shows he a picture of Jamie kissing another woman. WHAT? Cassie begins to look into Jamie’s life and goings on. While on the surface and to her face he is THE perfect husband to be, when she begins to dig deeper she finds that he is a slithering snake that needs its head cut off to end the treacherous cycle.
While Cassie keeps what she learns to herself, she gives all outward appearances of going along with all of the final preparations for her big day. All the while, she is learning more and more about what a womanizer he is. She begins to plot her revenge, not only to call him out publicly for his deeds, but to DESTROY him.
This was my first Jess Kitching novel but I found myself buying her other one before I even finished this. Her writing style is clear and concise. I found myself wringing my hands as Cassie learned more and more about Jamie and floating down the aisle with Cassie on her wedding day thinking I knew what to expect. I was shocked with what really happened.
If you want to see how one victim also became a perpetrator, liar and criminal, look no further.

What would you do if the love of your life, the person that you were about to marry, turned out to be the stuff of nightmares? Cassie learns of Jamie's betrayal a month before they are to walk down the aisle. She is shattered, how could she not have seen this side of him before? So, what will she do - walk away pr get her revenge? It wouldn't be a fun story if she walked away would it. But you will have to read it to find out more. She completely captured true heart break in this story, and she shows just how it is to get even. This was a really good read I totally recommend it and give it five for sure i just wish it was longer. I live for books 400+.

Cassie Edwards swore she’d never fall in love… then she met Jamie. He changed everything, and Cassie’s never been happier. But with less than one month to go to her wedding, Cassie discovers Jamie is cheating on her with his colleague. Blinded by rage, Cassie makes it her mission to seek revenge on the pair. When Cassie looks deeper into her fiancé’s life, she soon realises being faithful isn’t the only thing he’s lying about.
As her hunt for the truth takes her to some of the darkest corners of the internet, Cassie learns just how little she knows about the man she shares her life with. It leaves her wondering one thing – is Jamie someone she should destroy, or someone she should fear instead?
How far would you go to destroy your husband?
This was a great story of revenge and how far a woman will go to get back at her cheating partner. It was well-written and kept my attention from start to finish. The ending will surprise you as well, and I highly recommend it. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.

This was my first Kitchling book and definitely won’t be my last. I did this as a buddy read with my usual monthly group and we had a lot of great discussion - several theories being thrown out as we were always kept guessing each day!

When Cassie gets engaged with Jamie, she thought her life couldn’t be any happier until one day she is approached by her coworker with news about her fiancé. With the new information, Cassie can’t stop thinking about it and instead of confronting Jamie, she digs deeper to find out the whole truth. What she finds is beyond what she could imagined! Cassie finds out Jamie truly isn’t the person she thought she knew and decides to make him regret doing this to her by planning to expose him in front of all of his friends and family at their wedding at the end of the month.

I definitely enjoyed this book, I think it was even better with reading with friends. I was hooked right away and was rooting for Cassie to destroy the man she fell in love with. The book has several twists throughout which kept me wanting to read more. I do feel the ending fell a bit flat for me especially since the rest of the book was juicy! I will be recommending this one, solid 3 ⭐️.
