A revenge thriller is the best kind of thriller. This was definitely a page turner with lots of suspense.
What a RIDE! This book was incredible, it was TWISTED, it made me SO angry for Cassie. How far will you go to destroy someone who's hurt you?
It was full of RAGE, HIGH LEVEL OCTANE!
Bravo Bravo and Bravo 5 STARS from me!
I was so excited to receive this e-arc, because I love a good revenge story!
I had a few theories about what was going to happen early on, but none of them were right which I'm always happy to find out! I found the first 40% of the book pretty slow, to be honest. Cass didn't handle things quite like I would have, and I found the revenge Cass had planned to be much simpler than I was led to believe.
Things did pick up after the 40%-mark though, and I was wound up in suspense for the rest of the book (it was stressful! haha).
Overall it was okay. My husband was uncomfortable with the title (maybe thinking it was an instructional guide or something), which entertained me greatly!
Wow! Right from the start this book sucks you in.
Cassie is a month away from marrying Jamie, the love of her life. Then she finds out he has betrayed her in the worst possible way. Will she let him get away with it? Oh no, she plans to destroy him.
It is shocking, but at the same time I found it very relatable. I found this book to be an edge of your seat read and devoured it as quickly as possible.
I loved Jess's first book; The Girl She Was Before. I couldn't wait to read this one once I heard she had written a new book.
Thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for my copy to review.
First of all this is my first book by author Jess Kitching. I'd heard so many great things about her first book but had not gotten around to reading it. When I saw How to Destroy Your Husband on Net Galley, I knew I had to request this book. I was elated to be approved. I couldn't wait to read this. And I was not disappointed. The author sucked me in from the very beginning. I was cheering for Cassie in every chapter. I couldn't wait to see what happened. I went to work extremely tired this morning because I stayed up until 2:00 am trying to finish the book. I got to 83% on my Kindle and decided I needed to wait so I could be refreshed; and enjoy this rollercoaster ride. I counted down the hours to finish work today so that I could hurry home, and pick up my Kindle. I absolutely loved this book, and highly recommend it. The excitement has you turning page after page. You can bet I'll be going back to read Ms. Kitching's debut novel.
"My Synopsis"
The book starts out with Cassie and her three best friends comforting each other over broken relationships and broken hearts. Cassie says no man is worth the hurt they have all felt. She doesn't need a man to make her happy. That is until she meets Jamie. They hit it off from the very beginning. Their relationship flourishes and soon Jamie proposes. Cassie doesn't hesitate to accept, and is soon planning her dream day wedding. She has her three best friends as her bridesmaids of course. Nothing can destroy Cassie's happiness, until a friend shows her something that threatens to destroy her. Instead of cancelling her special day, Cassie decides to get even. She will destroy Jamie if its the last thing she does. How many other lives has he ruined?
If you are looking for a book that's great from beginning to end I hope you will pick up this book when it releases. If I could give this more then 5 stars I would. Thank you to Net Galley for giving me the chance to read and review this book.
My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my e-ARC.
I was really excited to be approved for this because I really liked Kitching’s debut, The Girl She Was Before.
Cassie Edwards has become jaded and cynical about love. Especially after her girlfriend, Lily, got her heart broken by someone who was supposed to be a sure thing. It doesn’t help that she is constantly being reminded that she is nearing her “best by” date.
It’s not for lack of trying. She joins dating sites, chats with potential matches, goes on dates… No luck. Who’d have thought she would meet the perfect guy the old-school way? Handsome and a teacher like herself.
Their relationship is a dream. Until…a month before their wedding…a bombshell. Jamie is cheating on her with a work colleague. Tara is not the only betrayal. Jaime is not the man she thought he was. Nor is Cassie is not the woman she used to be before Jaime came into her life.
Paranoia sets in and Cassie is on a mission. Of destruction. As she formulates her plan, she plays along with the charade of normalcy.
But, unfortunately or fortunately, things don’t go according to plan.
Another enjoyable read. Apt attention-grabbing title. Alluring blurb. Unforeseen end(I had a hunch, but I was wrong). I often read multiple books at a time, but Kitching’s plots are so engrossing and her writing so readable that I put the others aside.
I often don't find a book that grabs my attention right away but Jess Kitching's psychological thriller did just that. It picked me up, threw me onto an emotional roller coaster and ejected me into the air at the very end!
OMG! Andrews is a master at emotional manipulation. She had me all fired up since I wanted to reach into the pages of this book and shake some sense into Cassandra Andrews. How could she possibly stay with her fiancé Jamie knowing that he had cheated on her? How could she sleep in the same bed?? I guess Cassie's revenge was planted really deep in her soul because she planned the perfect solution to Jamie's infidelity......or did she?
You will not regret picking up this fantastic read if you like psychological thrillers. Just get ready to have your emotions tossed around as you follow Cassie and her friends as they wait for Jamie to get his due.
Kudos to Jess Kitching's on a great read!
My thanks to #NetGalley and Kingsley Publishers for this amazing ARC. This opinion/review is my own.
Great book if you like revenge. All about cheating and what could be done to be vindictive instead of walking away..wasn't totally invested in it myself as so far vetched from.how I would react in this situation. Overall a solid read.
Thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an early release of this book.
This was quite the revenge story, and after reading that first page I knew I would race to get to the end.
When Cassie finds out that her fiance is cheating on her she makes the completely sensible decision to uncover every last skeleton in his closet and implode his life. I mean who doesn't dream of enacting this kind of revenge when betrayed?
As Cassie begins to uncover all these deep dark secrets that her fiance is hiding she has no idea how much she doesn't know about who he really is, and with each secret, her desire for revenge just grows, and I was completely behind her decision,
While I understand why Cassie did what she did, I had a hard time connecting to her, or any of the characters. With that being said I did enjoy reading this until we got to the very end, which I hated lol. So I'm just going to pretend that the last page doesn't exist.
How To Destroy Your Husband
by Jess Kitching
I thought it was a light read. Not well-paced in getting anywhere, She shoulda/coulda/woulda just left. So, when the wedding was paid for, there was no real character development in most of the folks. I would say, in the end, I did finish.
A fun revenge thriller with a feel-good vibe; best to be used as a relaxing, cushiony read between two serious books.
I knew I had to have my hands on this book as soon as I put my eyes on it because this kind of knowledge never hurts, you know what I mean.
Cassie Edwards is marrying the love of her life, Jamie Patrick, in a month, and she still can’t believe her luck landing her the best man there is until the day she discovers that he is cheating on her. Determined not to victimise herself, she decides to uncover Jamie’s truth and plan the nastiest revenge to destroy him. However, as she follows the trail of his deception, she realises that this man is trouble.
I enjoyed the plot, but I never found myself seriously immersed in it. The characters weren’t fleshed out too well for me to believe them. The things that Cass did were too far drawn from what I would do. Also, Patrick’s journey from being the good guy to the worst kind of villain wasn’t organic, and I yearned to hear his side of the story. Nevertheless, it was still entertaining.
Overall, a quick, fun read!
Thanks to Kingsley Publishers and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

3.25/5🌟(rounding down).
TW: Infidelity and lots of drinking 🍷 (not alcoholism).
4 stars- I knew when I saw the title and cover of this book that I needed to read it. It exceeded my expectations and enjoyed the book. I was literally in shock and sick to stomach as the truth unveiled getting worse and worse. While Jamie is a total scum...you can't expect to like him at all.
The only thing I didn't like was how Cassie wasn't a character I found myself liking. I wish there was more character development from her...I just needed more to feel invested in her. She wasn't bad but just felt meh.
I actually liked Lily and Alisha because they showed their personality way more than Cassie and I enjoyed that.
The ending was great and the plot twist...I did not see that coming. This was definitely a great read!

Thank you Netgalley and Kingsley Publishers for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
Umm, wow. Just...... wow. No words.... and yet, all the words.
First, let me start with: Thank you to the author! I was provided a widget for this novel by a reader in a Netgalley group whom said the author approved the sharing of the widget with the group. The title grabbed me and I thought "why the heck not? I'm already struggling to get to 80%" LOL So thank you to Jess Kitching & Kingsley Publishers via Netgalley for this read.
Next: that first chapter immediately drew me in! It is, cleverly, titled 'The End' and made the whole book feel like a volcano building pressure to this eruption. If you want to hear the author read the first chapter you can find that on Instagram.
But, conversely: the very LAST chapter (really the last couple paragraphs) was one of those that made me shout "WHAT THE FUCK!" I immediately threw down my Kindle and told my husband "I need to talk about that" (so if you need a bookish friend to discuss with, I'm your girl because he just doesn't understand).
I can see some reviewers wondering why Cass didn't just leave Jamie and say her decisions were reckless; and while some of them were, I think her mindset of not wanting him to be able to hurt other women is clear. She gets into some real shit and I wondered if she was going to make it out alive. The thrill was real.
I don't think I've read anything in quite some time with a character at this level of absolute human garbage. Jamie is the worst of the worst. He is so well-written as the largest asshole, that I found my heartrate elevated when I thought about the shit he was up to. A misogynistic, narcissistic, womanizing abuser; he is just straight up terrible, horrible, no good.
Short, tension-filled chapters, the apprehension of not knowing how this will play out for Cass...all great aspects. I thoroughly 'enjoyed' this (lol, maybe not the right word as I spent half the novel pissed off) and found myself invested in the outcome. 4+ stars from me.
Best revenge thriller of the year! I loved Jess Kitching's debut thriller about bullies leaving lasting scars but this book is in another stratosphere in terms of chills, tension and heart palpitations! It was a one sitting read for me. As soon as we discover that Cass has a plan for her cheating Fiancé Jamie, it's like a ticking time bomb page after page, waiting for something to go awry, you won't be able to go to sleep! The final page plot twist is absolutely genius. Now I'll definitely not be able to sleep! I wonder if we'll follow Cass's future story? 5 stars
Get Your Witchy On! 😳😯🤯😳🤯
The absolute best revenge thriller novel I've read! Cass is literally who I wanted to be after a few long-term relationship break ups! She's like my alter spirit animal ego! I already adored and loved Kitching's debut novel, but this? Oh lordie love a duck, this one is even better & more sumptuous! I'm not kidding - I completely emerged myself & indulged on this divine novel like I did on this past Thanksgiving weekend with Turkey & all the fixin's. That ending? For the love of Halloween chocolate & spooky costumes! I mean... fireworks folks! Fireworks!! The absolute ugliness, the unbelievable insanity! I mean talk about taking the breath right out of you with a sucker punch. Believe me when I say this is a book you want to sink your teeth into! Kitching is turning into a literary genius and I am all for it!
Mყ 𝐒ყɴ𝐨ρѕιѕ: All is fair in love & revenge... right? Cassie is getting married just a month away to an incredible man, Jamie. Ironically, Cassie was against love. And now she is again, after seeing evidence of Jaime cheating. Most would break it off then and there. But Cassie? She embarks on a determined, rage-fuelled expedition of finding out the truth and uncovering every lie to make him pay.

Good reads: The title of this book caught my attention and I just had to read it! I’m not a huge fan of revenge stories but THIS ONE definitely is on my list of books to recommend. I finished it in less than 24 hours and could not put it down.
The beginning was a tad slow but once the secrets were revealed little by little, I had to know how this ended. Cassie annoyed me for staying in this relationship but then of course we would not have this clever story if she walked away immediately. I also enjoyed how the ending wasn’t wrapped up into a neat happily ever after bow which gave it a more realistic element. But then again how can any story filled with cheating, lies, and deceit end happily?
My review can also be found on my instagram @barkfurbooks.
"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned". You can say that again. I loved the beginning of this as the protagonist is describing her views on the world and relationships in general. I also loved how she refused to be a victim. For a second novel, I am very impressed. This held my interest, made me think about the world around us and had my emotions all over the place. However, what I was expecting her plan to be wasn't as big as it could of been. I expected it to blow everything and everyone out of the water and when she described it and how it's supposed to "destroy" him, I'm like "that's it?". Still, it was a good read and highly entertaining. Three and a half Stars rounded up.
Thank you to Netgalley and Kingsley Publishers for this ARC.
3.5-4 stars
This was an entertaining domestic thriller. Cheating partner with a revenge storyline that should have the reader asking themselves a few questions about cheating, forgiveness, and how far one would go to "right a wrong."
I wouldn't say any of the characters were particularly likable but there are a number of distracting character traits of side characters thrown in to add to the secrecy surrounding some of the plot points. Truthfulness and honesty seem to be big themes and not a lot of it is exhibited as there are many secrets on both sides. The old phrase "a picture is worth a thousand words" could also describe much of the story but context matters and that's an important thing to remember in a social media driven world and the author hints at this. I also found it interesting what a character felt was too much to forgive initially for herself she tried to get someone else to forgive for the same indiscretion later on...once again context matters.
Overall I enjoyed it. I wish there was more character dialogue and less internal Cassie dialogue just because I felt like her thoughts started to become repetitive. I know she was working everything out in her head but it drug the story out some. The pacing was good overall except for Cassie's internal thoughts running away at times. I would definitely read this author again.
3.5 Stars
Ah, revenge is a dish best served cold, and our protagonist Cassandra Edwards is the queen of revenge. This is basically an anatomy of the revenge trope and I loved it, especially how Cassie refused to be a victim of her misogynist fiancé. I sped through this read because I couldn't wait to see it all unfold.
This was so deliciously different and excitingly evil in the best way possible. This is something every hurt woman dreams of but Cassie doesn't just dream it, she plans it out in meticulous detail in the most spectacular way. But I did learn from this that maybe revenge isn't always the best way, does it take a little of your soul, or is it satisfying when the male chauvinist pig gets his due??
I did like that this seemed possible but the only thing I didn't buy was Cassie and Tara's relationship developed so quickly and how fast Tara jumped at the chance to help so fast and so much. I also figured out one of the big surprises at the end, the other I had no idea of, so that was a great surprise. I adored Cassie's friends, they really had her back and were the perfect side characters as they were so different from each other.
This is a psychological thriller in the truest sense of the word as Cassie goes nuts after finding out about Jamie and even crazier trying to exact her revenge. It is well-written, very engaging, written from the first-person perspective I like and the dramarama is very entertaining. This was such a satisfying domestic drama and I would read more of this author's work.
Jess Kitching has written a fantastic psychotic thriller in; How To Destroy Your Husband.
Everything about the book is top notch, from the beginning of the love story of Cassie and Jamie, to the planning and take down of Jamie.
Only the unfortunate damage to others haunts Cassie, but is the break up the end? Or is it the beginning of something worse?
