Romance, spice, suspense and action. This was a whirlwind and I loved it! The romance is a slow burn, Liam is very calm and not easily riled while Carmen is a force to be reckoned with. I really enjoyed their dynamic and how they worked together on their case as well.

A great story, as long as I kept my mind away from “ex-junkie nurse.” As soon as my mind went there, my mind asked if this person could be trusted with unrestricted access to medication. Then it broke me from the story. No one jump down my throat- but having known someone who was “ex” who didn’t stay “ex” - well, I know I’m not the only one who has been through that struggle.

Other than that, Kincaid is an author I enjoy reading and the characters were well-developed. I liked the book.

this is book 5 in The Intelligence Unit series but can absolutely be read as a standalone (as I did) with no confusion to the story. i'm sure you get more out of the background characters that are likely featured in other books in the series but nothing is lost

this is a slow burn romance but a fast paced read with 3rd person POV for the FMC, MMC, and the criminal they're trying to catch

MMC Liam is a Detective who has a fiery relationship with his partner's CI Carmen who is the FMC. She's a nurse who is an ex-felon, ex-drug addict who is central to finding a murder and bringing down a set of criminals.

this was such a good read with lots of tension and drama that isn't super centered around the relationship but more so their jobs
the romance is sprinkled throughout, has a few open door scenes, and has a guaranteed (and realistic) HEA

Great read, who doesn’t like a good romance with lots of action and suspense. Carmen is an ex junkie that has become a nurse and a CI for the intelligence agency. She also has a secret job that might be a bit illegal but does so much good! When she gets a phone call from an unknown caller she becomes embroiled in something that could cost her everything

My first book in this series...I need to go back and read the others! Liam and Carmen are so good together!

Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley and Victory Editing. Liam and Carmen are fire and ice. They have a strong connection but love trying to cut each other down. The storyline and suspense mixed with romance creates a great book from the hands of Kincaid.

Kincaid has a way of quickly of sucking you into the plot and this novel kept me wanting to read until the end. Luam and Carmwn are such strong well-writtwn characters. Kincaid is an auto buy for me and this novel did not disappoint!

I have read some of the other books in this series and I have been waiting for this one. These two characters have always been after each other like they did not like the other one when really they each liked each other. Each one tells the other their back story which adds to the story and as you get more into the story you find just how much each one cares for one other. Yet still, Carmen does not feel that she is worthy of any type of good or happiness in her life even after all of the pain she has been through. Liam has his own past and she is surprised when he opens up about it to her. Each has taken a chance now will they take a chance with each other? Read this good story to find out.

I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it! The story was well written and I loved the characters too. The romance and suspense were just amazing. I really enjoyed the banter with Liam and Carmen.

Liam and Carmen kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The suspense, the thrill, the chemistry and everything in between kept my attention. I really enjoyed their journey. Although it wasn't easy especially for Carmen.

So, it's not that this is/was a bad book but I feel like I was more intrigued by the story before I read it, especially the ''gotten under the skin'' and ''driven him crazy'' part. Maybe that's why I expected steamy scenes to be there every chapter or so.
Up until 26 %, the book more or less focuses on the suspense part which wouldn't be bad if I was a suspense reader but since I am a romance reader I looked for the romantic parts of the book. Sadly, they just weren't there and I lost interest and went to look for steam elsewhere.

The book also at least for me ruins the suspense part because it reveals who the killer is from the beginning of the book. So it's kind of knowing the ending but at the same time not because you're waiting for characters to get to the killer but since you already know, there's just no mystery.

I really enjoyed the personal and romantic development between Liam and Carmen. I liked how both main characters were flawed yet strong and independent individuals. The mystery/intrigue was interesting to follow. I just felt the ending was somewhat abrupt.

This was the 5th book in a series and I did not read the others 4 prior to this one but I enjoyed it. I didn’t even really need to read the others to enjoy this one I felt.

Fast paced and kept me entertained through out.

The Saint is part of a series by Kimberly Kincaid but can be read as a stand-alone novel. The story is very easy to follow and very much your typical romantic suspense. Readers will know all the players right away the good, the bad and the not to be trusted.

The story moves quickly as readers get to know Liam and Carmen and the lust\love they have for each other. If you like this story, I suggest you pick up the first 4 book in The Intelligence Unit series.

Absolutely loved this ! The story line is actually believable and not something you’ll be scratching your head out trying to figure out if that’s even possible. Liam was very likable as a character, I found Carmen likable as well.

Wow, talk about complete opposites attracting each other! Liam is the Saint from the title and is the good guy cop whose father was a con artist. Carmen is a former drug addict and has a rap sheet but has straightened her life out and is now a CI for Liam's partner, Isabelle.

They are thrown together on a case when Carmen is blackmailed into providing the database for the clinic that she works at - so the database can be used in an insurance fraud scam.

I don't want to give away any spoilers so will just say that it was hard to put this book down, as there is smoldering attraction that Liam and Carmen are resisting and lots of drama and action. Then, throw in Liam's estranged father to the mix and there is trouble brewing!

Great ending and loved that Carmen could show Liam that even though it is not expected or deserved - second chances can happen as it happened to her.

So while this may be book 5 in The Intelligence Unit series, it can absolutely be read as a standalone and understand everything happening. Liam is a detective who is investigating a murder when his investigation brings him into contact with Carmen. Carmen is not only a nurse but a confidential informant. They have to go undercover together, but in doing so they both have an attraction to each other that they may not be able to deny. And when the past comes calling, can they be what each other needs?

I really enjoyed this one! Carmen has been through things that no woman wants to go through. She is sweet and kind but with this spine of steel that just won't let her quit. Liam is this man who seems like he is the life of the party and just happy go lucky, but there is so much more to him than meets the eye. These two are definitely not what I pictured together, but they just fit together like puzzle pieces. The story drew me in and kept my involved and it is most definitely a slow burn, but honestly I think that was better for these two characters. My only issue-it was a little slow in spots, but not horribly so. Just enough for me to notice. All in all, another great read in this series!

The Saint by Kimberly Kincaid is book five in the series but it read well as a stand alone. I felt the book had a great suspense and the plot twist was very well done.
Liam and Isabella are detectives and partners. Carmen is a confidential informant for Isabella. She and Liam have chemistry and have been ignoring it.

I don’t want to share too many details about the story line because so many things surprised me like Carmen’s volunteer work, Liam’s family issues, and how the undercover work played out. I enjoyed the story and a new twist on medical fraud. There is a little bit of forced proximity and enemies to lovers storyline playing out.
