‘Mezo Vol. 2: Battle at Coban Rock’ by Tyler Chin-Tanner with art by Val Rodrigues is a graphic novel that continues the story that takes place in Mezo-America.

The solar eclipse is approaching and the Tzalekuhl Empire seems intent on conquering everything. When a young leader named Kyra forms an alliance with her estranged mother’s warriors, the battle still seems one sided. The battle is filled with strange creatures and brave fighters with a lot on the line.

I liked this volume more than the first one, and I liked that one quite a bit. The art is outstanding and I loved the creature designs.

Mezo has hit a home run again with this fantastic retelling of Mesoamerican lore. This isn't an area of mythology I've ever known much about, but I always feel like I learn something from these comics.
