This book is an exhilarating and adventurous tale filled with intriguing twists and turns. I found myself rapidly flipping through the pages, perched on the edge of my seat in anticipation as the characters navigated their next moves.

In the year 1927, Will embarks on his college journey, only to receive devastating news of his family's demise due to smallpox. His world crumbles, and to his astonishment, he awakens to the realization that he has been inexplicably propelled three years into the future. In this temporal leap, he loses his home and many of his possessions.

It's in this unfamiliar future that he crosses paths with Abbi, who reveals herself as a time traveller from the year 2022. She shares her ability to journey only into the past. Both plagued by fear, they make a pact to stay awake each night to prevent involuntary time travel. Despite their efforts, Will finds himself propelled further into the future, leaving Abbi stranded in the past. Their quest to reunite is fueled by the cryptic clues they've left for each other.

Stanton's storytelling prowess shines, as she thoughtfully incorporates period-specific elements to immerse readers in the era where Will finds himself. One detail that piqued my curiosity was Will's financial situation, which I wished had been explored further.

The narrative is enriched by meticulous research and attention to detail, evident in the wealth of historical and factual knowledge woven into the storyline. As you delve deeper into the narrative, you become inexorably absorbed, connecting with the characters and the world that surrounds them. Their emotions become your own.

In summation, this book is a treasure trove of captivating historical details, well-rounded characters, a dash of humour, and a compelling love story. It's a read that's truly worth your while—a captivating journey from start to finish.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to Angie Stanton, the publishers at Xpresso Book Tours, and the NetGalley team for granting me the privilege of reading an advanced copy. This opportunity allowed me to relish the book in exchange for an honest review, an experience I hold dear.

I loved it .. from beginning to end.. the middle was even better!
That’s all I’m going to say. I won’t give anything away. I was intrigued and entertained…couldn’t put it down!

I admire this author ..because as we know, a time travel story can go forward and backwards, but in the end..all the dots must connect, and it must all make sense! And Ms Stanton ..did it in spades!

A fun adventure in time travel romance, which is not my normal genre. But this is nicely done. I stayed mostly engaged, and I look forward to the author's future work.

Thanks very much for the free review copy for review!!

Such a sweet story of grief, commitment, friendship, and love while traveling through time. I really liked this book and am pretty interested in reading Abbi’s POV. This story is from Will’s POV and follows his travels as he jumps forward through time (Will travels to a future timeline while Abbi travels to the past). It can be read as a standalone, which is what I did as it’s my first from this author. I just love time travel romances and this one was so sweetly written. There are some plot holes, but I’m okay with them… such as why it only happened to Will & Abbi and how each time when Will was in a new time his information/credentials magically updated with him. This was relied heavily on the string theory and implied as such, plus fate; but with so much based off of science I think there should be a bit more to the explanation in the writing. How does each new roommate already have an established connection with the current Will; yet the few people Will knew personally remembered the “real” Will who was missing during the time jumps? Even so, LOVE the story & characters and I’m super satisfied that the coincidences tied all the characters together the way it did, and the story was an entertaining and memorable read.

Confusing. Amazing. Exciting.

I love time travel stuff. But I am always weary of how it is handled. This book gives just enough explanation to make it interesting without going overboard and losing the reader with paradox talk.

The characters are awesome. Really enjoyed the adventure through Will’s perspective. I did not know this was a follow-up to Abbi’s adventure “Waking In Time”. I’m intrigued and may read that version eventually. Though I loved the characters, I’m not sure the romance aspect of this book was top notch.

One other thing though: I wished there was more ‘reveals’?! I went back through after finishing it looking for potential things that could be different after knowing some of the information from later in the book but couldn’t find anything. I love that about time travel stuff normally but didn’t really get any surprises this time.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Angie Stanton, the publishers Xpresso Book Tours and the NetGalley team for providing me with an Advanced copy. I cherished this opportunity to read it in exchange for an honest review.

Will, a college student in the late 1920s, falls asleep one night and wakes up two years in the future. Unable to control his sporadic leaps forward in time, he meets Abbi, who is in a similar situation. Except she’s travelling the other way.

This is a counterpart to the author’s previous book, Waking In Time, with many of the same events told from Will’s point of view. It probably helps to read that one first to get the full picture, but even without that, this book takes you on a rollicking ride through time as Will attempts to adjust to his changed circumstances and work out why it’s happening. Full of interesting historical detail, rounded characters, a touch of humour and a love story underpinning it all, this is a captivating read.

I admit I didn’t read the first in this series, and perhaps that why I didn’t enjoy this as much as others. I’ve enjoyed other Angie Stanton books so I was excited to read this, but I found the writing style a bit clunky and very “stream of consciousness” in style, and the story was rather hard to follow. The concept is really interesting, but it just wasn’t for me.

I was given an ARC by NetGalley and XPresso Book Tours. All opinions are my own.
