Wanda and Sophie were my favorites. I loved Wanda's mothering Cassie. Someone needed to poor girl had both mommy and daddy issues.
Iris made me so sad. My heart broke for her and I understood her pain. I need her to get an HEA!!!!
I love that she was Never judged for her SW by anyone!!!!
I overall enjoyed the book!
And honestly as a parent someone walking out of my kids life would be it for me. Like 0 chance to come back! I understand it but thisn3rd act break up wasn't fun.
I hated that I couldn't read the text messages that were chapter headings. Seems like a formatting problem.
The romantic tropes like forced proximity, single dad, etc that were in The Nanny by Lana Ferguson were new to me, so I did not know how I was going to like the novel. I felt that it had strong character development especially with Wanda and Sophie, and plot pacing was well done. I did find it unrealisitic that Cassie took forever to realize why "A" ghosted her so suddenly and how she was so quick to lose focus on her academic goals and schoolwork. Overall, it was an enjoyable read but I am not sure that I am a fan of these particular tropes.
I could NOTTTTT get enough of this one! I knew this one was going to be on the spicier side but WOW. I really loved how Cassie and Aiden’s relationship developed and progressed. Their chemistry was top notch and the mouth that Aiden has in him… whew! The side characters were hilarious - MVP of course is Wanda who had me laughing out loud. Cassie and Sophie’s relationship was so special and I loved that Cassie was always Sophie’s advocate from the start. The third act conflict felt a little predictable but overall I adored this book. If you’re a fan of forced proximity and the single dad trope, you will love this book!
I had high hopes for this but dare I say, it was mostly boring? The conversations felt forced, the "issue" they have as to why they don't speak is so obvious and to make the actually smart heroine blatantly pretend not to know why is a disservice. It was also semi icky how she immediately focused on the dad rather than the child she was nannying. She obviously gets better and I did like how she made good progress for the family but it felt like she was just fixing issues and had no chemistry.
I loved the sweet characters in The Nanny. Both Cassie and Aiden were likeable and believable characters and they have great chemistry. Sophie definitely stole the show here, too! I felt like the steamy scenes could have been cut a little -- shortened or edited a bit. They seemed redundant. But overall a cute and enjoyable read.
Not only am I obsessed, I will now read everything Lana Ferguson puts out. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Plot: the plot followed your basic "we've met before but I can't tell him because he'll hate me if he knows" structure. Normally I don't like this plot style, but in this instance I didn't mind because I'd probably hide my OnlyFans past from my employer as well. In the end, I'm not too critical of the plot in a standalone romance because I'm here for the relationship first and foremost.
Characters/Relationships: I enjoyed the characters! Cassie was quirky and fun without being childish, Aiden was a loving albeit clueless dad, Sophie was so spunky and loveable, Wanda was such a fantastic addition. Every character was fantastic, imo.
But the relationship between Cassie and Aiden wasn't my favorite. There was a TON of physical chemistry, but I didn't feel like there was much chemistry anywhere else. The only think I felt they bonded over was their love for Sophie and I need more to really buy the relationship.
Writing Style: this was a quick and easy to read story. I love a dual POV, but I did wish there was more to differentiate between Cassie's POV and Aiden's POV (as in, their "narration style" was too similar and I wanted a more distinct voice for each of them.) But that's just me being picky and it didn't affect my enjoyment in a significant way.
Overall: a cute romance! Not my favorite, but it will be a good choice for spice-lovers and people that want a sweet and quick romance between heavier books.
Thank you to PRHAudio for my complimentary audio book, and to Berkley for my eArc. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I enjoyed listening to this one on my flight to and from Brazil, and boy I am glad no one else could hear. So much steam! The narrators for both characters did a wonderful job. I must admit, I wish Andrew Eiden was narrating Aiden's character.
I enjoyed the story and fell in love with all the characters, even Iris. The chemistry between Cassie and Aiden, aka CiCi and A, is out of this world! My only complaint is how dense Cassie was at not figuring out why A left OnlyFans so suddenly. I mean, come on, she knew A was Aiden, and she knew what happened to Aiden......so why did she not connect the dots?

This book is a definitely a spicy one, and ohhh la la I definitely enjoyed it!
One of my favorite characters in this book was Wanda the 70 year old former neighbor and bff to Cassie! She was such a dang hoot at made me miss my old neighbors because Wanda reminds me of one of them specifically with her spunk (minus the sexual chats 😂). I know this isn’t Wanda’s story but dang if I wouldn’t read her story, too!
I truly loved the chemistry between Cassie and her boss, Aiden, who also turned out to be Cassie’s previous crush as client from her Only Fans days. These two had amazing jump off the page chemistry and the tension before they gave into their lust was so well written!
I loved the relationship between Cassie and his daughter Sophie as it was just so pure and sweet.
I love that the fact that Cassie was Sophie’s nanny wasn’t lost once Cassie and Aiden started hooking up and that we still got a great plot along with all the steamy goodness!
Thank you to Berkley Romance for my ARC of this one in exchange for my honest review! If you are needing some steamy alone time with a book, make sure to check this one out! 😉
This book could have been so good! Who doesn't want to read about a hot, single chef and his new nanny who make sparks fly whenever they're alone? And better yet, who don't realize their past OnlyFans connection?
This started strong. I loved Cassie and Aiden's chemistry and the steamy (and I do mean steamy) relationship they developed. Casey's relationship with Aiden's daughter, Sophie, gave this story heart and warmth. Cassie's older friend Wanda was also a hoot to read.
Unfortunately, as the story went on, it only started and continued to fall apart for me. The conflict was predictable and incredibly avoidable. I don't always mind a consensual relationship with an unequal power dynamic (listen, real life is messy). Still, Cassie and Aiden don't even acknowledge it, and if they do it's to make inappropriate jokes about the whole situation.
But ultimately, it was the ending that turned this from a good or okay read to a befuddling one. I wondered if the author made Cassie 25 to make sense of her immature choices. Regardless, I found Cassie's behavior toward the end incredibly selfish and harmful. I decided to call it quits at 90% of the story because I couldn't buy into the "happy ending" I knew was to come. It simply was not earned.
A sexy, funny, romantic comedy featuring a former Fans Only model and one of her best clients accidently meet in real life when she needs a job and he needs a nanny. Only, they have no idea who each other is until they fall in love and the truth begins to slowly reveals itself.. But can this couple move beyond their shared past, nosy realitives, and their own misconceptions to find their happily ever after.
This book was so unique! Going into the book I was curious about what was going to happen. I loved the way the author set this book up. And the main characters were so cute and I loved them so much. This is my first book by this author and it definitely won’t be my last!
oh my goodness, this was really really great! i love the single dad/second chance romance writing style. I could have lived without the message/chat flashbacks and just more of the pictures of the chats because that makes you read in between the lines and speculate more than listening to their feelings and etc. I love the relationship between Sophie and her dad individually and then the relationship between her and Cassie individually as well. I am definitely planning on reading more by this author! I have so many quotes I loved from this book! solid 4.5!
I liked this book. Cassie lost her job, and she needs to find a new one or reactivate her OnlyFans account. She finds a great job as a nanny, only to discover that her employer is chef Aiden Reid, her biggest user on OnlyFans and the reason she deactivated her account.
He doesn’t recognize her (she always wore a mask) and she loves Aiden’s daughter Sophie. Cassie and Aiden have explosive chemistry and eventually they give in and become a couple.
They have extremely steamy sex, all the time, to the point where it doesn’t serve the plot anymore. I never thought there could be too many sex scenes before! Cassie is extremely worried about Aiden’s reaction to the fact that his nanny used to be the naked girl on his computer screen. Will she have a job and her relationship? 3.5 stars.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed as in this review are completely my own.
This is a spicy twist on your traditional employer/employee romance. You see, Cassie might look like your average college student, but she used to be pretty well known as Cici on OnlyFans where she did some late night activities for money. A, well, he was her biggest fan and top subscriber. I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this. Neither knew what the other looked like. Which is how Cassie ends up being the nanny for Aiden, an executive chef at a well known restaurant.
I really liked the twist that the author created in this story. Between each chapter is a text conversation between Cici and A on OnlyFans. So you know right away who "A" is. The only question was wondering when they'd figure it out. There's some instant sexual tension between the two that makes for some interesting and awkward encounters before Cassie soon puts two and two together. One thing that I will say is that I was not expecting all the explicit sex scenes in this story. There were times where I felt like it overshadowed the actually story because it was just pages and pages of sex. Which is to expected when reading erotic romance or even erotica, but I honestly thought this would be just a cute romance. So I was not expecting it.
The characters in the story were easy to like. Sohpie (the daughter) was adorable and wasn't easily won over by people. Wanda (Cassie's neighbor who's like a grandma to her) was a riot and kept things lively. I also liked the main characters who were struggling and just trying to navigate their new lives.
One thing that I do wish would have been different was the conflict, and the climax of the story. You see it coming a mile away and you just pray that you're wrong. It followed the age old recipe of "I want to make things right, so I'm going to leave so I don't cause any more problems". The whole thing would have been non-existent if they just talked to each other, but alas, that's not how it played out.
The Nanny was an enjoyable read. I enjoyed the new twist the author put on the usual trope. I do think that there needs to be a warning or something stating that it's not just a normal romance but more of an erotic romance.
The Nanny by Lana Ferguson takes the single dad x nanny trope and turns things up a few notches! The book started off strong, but I'll be honest because I was dreading the conflict that I expected. Anyone who reads this will be anticipating at least one or two of the "details" to blow up in the main characters' faces. In reality, the situations I was apprehensive of were handled pretty quickly.
This is the second time I've read a book that involves a character who is a celebrity of the OnlyFans variety. Sadly, this is also the second time I haven't enjoyed it. (Side bar: Maybe I'm just jealous of those paychecks?). The entire plot point fell flat for me. It's interspersed throughout the story and seems to play a heavy role at times but at the end of the day it just didn't work for me personally.
The side characters really steal the show here. I loved young Sophie and elderly Wanda, even if neither one of them acted their age. Also, The Nanny is a spicy one!.
My biggest complaint is the miscommunication between Cassie and Aiden. Some of their conversations were so repetitive but they still didn't talk about important things. If they aren't talking about schedules or awkwardly apologizing for immaterial things, they are having sex.
Not an overall win for me but not a bust either! I think many readers will enjoy this and if it hadn't been 400 pages, I might have been a bigger fan!
Oh what a fun premise that I’ve never seen in a book before from Berkley Romance!
Cassie is a grad student by day and an anonymous woman on OnlyFans at night. Or, at least she was until after she falls for one of her paying customers and she shuts down the account. Now, Cassie is broke and on the brink of eviction. She’s desperate for a job.
That’s how she meets the handsome Aiden and his beautiful little girl Sophie, who has managed to chase off all the other nannies.
Listen, the book is sooo intriguing. Told in small blurbs of old exchanges on OnlyFans and in real time as Cassie grows fonder and fonder of this healing family.
Everyone knows I am not into the super spicy reads. This is a super spicy read that I highly recommend to all my romance lovers. I enjoyed it even though I’ll admit I did a lot of page skipping during some scenes.
Highly highly recommend! Thank you Berkley Romance and PRHAudio for granting me access to this title.
Oh and just FYI, this is definitely a listen with headphones audiobook!
To me, this one started off pretty strong and as the story continues on, it grows more and more frustrating. This follows Cassie and Aiden through a dual POV styling. Cassie was on OnlyFans but dipped when the guy she fell for disappeared. Their identities were completely a secret so she couldn’t just track him down when he ghosted. Now, she’s a nanny to help her through graduate school - and she works for a single father.
What happens when her boss is the many she used to go on camera for? The frustrating part? She doesn’t grow or learn. The last 25% had me pissed the whole time because she literally is the exact same as she was in the beginning. No character growth. A 10 year old had to fix her mistakes.
Wanda, Cassie’s best friend who’s in her 60s/70s is just fantastic. Between her and the child that Cassie is a nanny for, Sophie, they truly run the show.
Tropes we see? Forced proximity, second chance, forbidden, workplace romance, and single father.
OMG, THE NANNY was super fun! Love me the single dad trope, especially when it includes a nanny! I knew once I read the synopsis, I just HAD to read it! And let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
Cassie Evans, an Occupational Therapy student in her mid-20s, loses her job a children’s hospital and needs to find something quick! She ends up finding a job as a live-in nanny for a hot executive chef, named Aiden Reid. Aiden is a DILF extraordinaire and is a single dad to sassy 9 year old girl, Sophie.
Right off the bat Cassie and Aiden are insanely attracted to each other. They both know it would be inappropriate to start something between them, but their chemistry is off the charts, so it’s only a matter of time.
Cassie soon discovers that Aiden isn’t a stranger at all; he is actually her top OnlyFans subscriber when she used to have an account in a past life That’s not all though - she was beginning to have feelings for him and then totally vanished without a trace.
Cassie struggles with telling Aiden the truth as she doesn’t want to ruin what they have — and her chance at a happily ever after.
The book was so hilarious and I adored all of the characters, especially the side characters! Sophie was cute and tenacious, and I loved that Cassie’s bff was a septuagenerian named Wanda! How cute is that? There was a good amount of steam in the book, too! I mean, a guy that can cook AND talks dirty in between the sheets? Need I say more?
Thank you so much, @berkleyromance, for the complementary copy and to @prhaudio for the complementary audiobook! THE NANNY pubs on April 11, so make sure you add it to your TBR!💕
The Nanny is about a former camgirl who ends up getting hired as the nanny for one of her former clients. If you are reading The Nanny for the spice, it delivers. If you are reading it for a love story, it falls flat.
