First of all, I’d read another book by this author with a different trope. I like a sweet nanny/boss story and not one that is sexy from the get go. This is your job! Put on a bra!! Feels inappropriate from a working stand point.
Cassie needs a job desperately, so when she sees the offer to be a live-in nanny she jumps at the opportunity. After a few weeks of taking care of Sophie, Cassie starts to realize she knows Aiden, the extremely attractive single father, who happens to be her new boss. He was her number one customer when she had an Only Fans account. She begins to wonder how long before he recognizes her, and how long she can keep her attraction to him a secret.
Woo this book was STEAMY in the best possible way. But prepare yourself (and maybe don’t be me and listen to the audiobook in public). Outside of the off the charts chemistry, I adored Cassie’s sweet relationship with Sophie as well as her friendship with Wanda, a sassy elderly lady. Both relationships were so special and sweet and made up for the hot mess communication that was Cassie and Aiden’s relationship. Overall, this was such a fun read and I can’t wait to see what is next from Lana Ferguson.
Thanks to Berkley Publishing for the advance copy and to @berittalksbooks and @dg_reads for the buddy read!
The Nanny follows Cassie an occupational therapy student who starts working as a nanny for Aiden and his 9 year old daughter Sophie.
Cassie soon discover she and Aiden already have history but when will she tell Aiden?
This is a very steamy book. Cassie and Aiden are great main characters. I also really love Sophie and Wanda. Iris is a character I did not like at the beginning but as Cassie got to know her better, I enjoyed her character more. It has a good place as i read through it rather quickly.
It also had some heavy subjects. These were not on the foreground but still a good addition to the book
Love this! Was one of my favorite books this year! The tension and Chemistry between Cassie and Aiden was everything! It had me in a chokehold. I was not able to put this book down. Even the elderly best friend was great. I couldn’t get enough of this book.
When I say that I LOVED this book, it can’t possibly capture just how much.
Cassie stole my heart pretty early on in this story with how determination to make ends meet so as to follow her dream – even if it meant being a cam girl on OF. But even those dedicated to their dreams can have their heart broken, sending their plans awry.
Cassie left OF about a year ago after forming a bond with one of her followers, who promptly ghosted her. Now she’s trying to make ends meet by answering an ad in the paper to be a nanny – only to discover the single father of the child she’s nannying might be the hottest and nicest man she’s ever met … and she has possibly met him before, too.
This book was funny, steamy, heartwarming, and all around incredible. I loved Cassie’s personality and her ability to be both herself and incredibly awkward. I loved the bond she quickly forms with Aiden’s daughter Sophie, and I honestly LOVED getting Aiden’s POV throughout the story too!
The only question is… can the bond they form withstand the knowledge that they might have met previously – and other under circumstances? Will they still want each other?

I LOVED this book.
Tha Nanny features Cassie, a grad student that is laid off from her job at the children’s hospital. Desperate for work, she answers an add for a live in nanny position for a very attractive single dad to the cutest 9 year old girl. She wasn’t expecting him to be the man she started to fall for from her old only fans account.
I seriously can’t believe this darling is a debut. I adored Lana’s writing. Filled with sharp & witty humor & all the sexual tension fueled by the most delicious forbidden mutual pinning, I was instantly hooked.
If you appreciate an open door romance, this book is for you! The spice is sinfully dirty but when mixed with the strong emotional connection between the MCs (thank you dual POV) it just WORKS! Cassie & Aiden were so relatable & delightfully awkward fighting their attraction to each other until they finally imploded 🔥🔥
The side characters here almost stole the show, in the best way. From Sophie, the cutest 9 year old girl to Wanda, Cassie’s 70 year old best friend. Even Iris, Sophie’s grieving curmudgeon of an aunt.
I enjoyed this one so much that when I saw the audio available, I snuck in a listen. The female narrator gave me Mrs. Maisel vibes, which IMO suited Cassie to a tee.
Do not let this cover fool you. This is not a sweet PG story. Oh no this one is full of so much more. Cassie is working to put herself through school but when she gets let go from her job she is running out of options. Instead of returning to her Only Fans account that she said goodbye to she turns to nannying, but what are the chances that her new boss also happened to be her number one customer?
.
This one is pure fun, lots of steam and Wanda, her elderly best friend is the real MVP. I would LOVE a story about Wanda’s backstory. Huge thank you to @berkleypub @berittalksbooks @thephdivabooks @dg_reads @prhaudio and @netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Spicy, sex positive, and single dad trope? The Nanny brought all the heat, both in and out of the kitchen, and was a sweet love story with some seriously steamy moments. It felt a bit predictable (but what romance isn't) but overall, I enjoyed Cassie and Aiden's story, and loved meeting Wanda, can we get a novel on her love life next!?
I was absolutely delighted by this unique take on a single dad, second chance romance! The Nanny was incredibly steamy and I loved the chemistry between the two MCs. Second chance romance already has so much potential for building up the intimacy that already exists between the characters and I loved the way Ferguson handled this despite the two characters not immediately realizing they had a past. Single dad romance is one of my most beloved tropes and combine that with second chance and I'm in heaven. I think readers who enjoyed The Roommate by Rosie Danan and A Merry Little Meet Cute by Sierra Simone and Julie Murphy will really enjoy this one!
The Nanny will make you blush, make you laugh out loud, and make you touch your heart and say “aww” to these absolutely loveable characters! This is the perfect beach read, plane read, honestly any time read, that I think will be a hit of the spring and summer!
I learned about OnlyFans a few years ago from Tori Deal on MTV’s The Challenge. I love her and love the show and her openness about her experiences with sharing her body with people that are paying for a subscription. When I read this, Cassie reminded me a lot of Tori, in that Cassie is awkward but also bold and honest and does her best to stay true to herself and not apologize for who she is. Cassie is one of my favorite leading ladies to date! She is relatable and the way she was with the rest of the cast of characters in this book made me love her even more.
You get to meet Aiden, father of Sophie, and Wanda, a 72 year old next door neighbor of Cassie. Aiden is a chef and steamy-mic-steamerton. Sophie is a guarded but loveable nine year old and Wanda is a sassy grandma type we all love. There’s also Iris but you’ll learn more about her when you read the story. Together this ensemble is one of my favorites and I cannot wait for you to meet them all!
This is my first read by Lana Ferguson and I absolutely loved her writing style! Most chapters start with OnlyFans conversations that are the perfect touch. Also, the story is told in dual point of view but mainly from Cassie's perspective, so when you finally hear from Aiden, it's at the perfect time. There is a perfect mix of steam and laughs that completely propel you into Cassie’s world and I was here for every minute of it! I cannot wait to read Ferguson’s next read coming out later this year!
Thank you @netgalley and @berkleypub for the opportunity to read a copy in exchange for an honest review
5 stars for the spice, 3 stars for the book as a whole. If I didn’t know ahead of time that the book was explicit, I wouldn’t have read it. If you are easily offended by explicit language and actions, take a pass on this. Otherwise, go for it. Those are the best parts of the book.
The storyline was a bit of a pass for me. The nanny (cliche) and her employer end up having an affair. They do all sorts of things in public spaces in their home while the child is asleep. Anyone with a kid knows that is just not happening. The nanny used to have an Only Fans page and got involved emotionally with this guy who disappeared. She’s got that to deal with, too.
This is a steamy romance- the man characters are a nanny and a single dad. This means there's a forbidden romance and they have another connection (with a little bit of hidden identity trope thrown in) . And here's what I learned in my buddy read of this book- I had no idea that Only Fans is a real thing! I'm not sure how I missed that.
Cassie is in an occupational therapy graduate program and needs a better job because her rent just went up. Aiden needs a nanny. Cassie responds to his ad and they both try so hard to ignore the sparks between them. They are both focused on Aiden's daughter, Sophie (such a great kid!). Of course they don't manage to keep their hands off each other. While there's a lot of steam, there is also some great character development. I enjoyed getting to know Cassie, Aiden, Sophie, and a few more side characters.
The book ended with a teaser of the authors next book, which looks like a paranormal romance potentially with a fake relationship- I can't wait!!
I switched from audio to digital and back. I thought the narrators did an excellent job capturing the characters and the tone.
Thanks to the publisher for a copy. All opinions are my own.
The Nanny wasn’t really the book for me but I’m sure it will work for others. Interesting premise I had high hopes for but it doesn’t really stick the landing. I found it too predictable. There is a frequent sex, which is fine. I like spicy books. I just found myself wanting to read more of them getting to know each other. Anyway, solid book, just not for me.
Hot single dad + spice = STEAMY!!!
If you want a fun, angsty (oooh, the tension in this book is honestly soooooooo good) steamy read, this book is for you!
* single dad
* forced proximity
* oodles of sexual tension
* found family!
Thank you to Berkley Romance for the free book, it was a heck of a ride, this one. <3
I enjoyed this steamy contemporary romance featuring Cassie, a grad student in need of a job and Aiden, the hot dad looking for a nanny.
The attraction between Aiden and Cassie is instantaneous and culminates into a very spicy romance. Unbeknownst to Cassie and Aiden, it turns out they know each other. I won’t spoil it for you by telling you from where, but it is a spicy plot twist!
Cassie and Aiden are great, but there are also two other supporting characters who steal the show - Aiden’s nine year old daughter Sophie is so cute! Cassie also has a friend called Wanda, her 72 year old next door neighbor who lives her best life hooking up with men from bingo.
If you are looking for a steamy contemporary romance with interesting characters, The Nanny is the one to read.
I love this book! Cassie is such a refreshing character and her sense of humour had me laughing out loud the entire time. I am always hesitant to read romance novels with this trope because I feel like the kids are always neglected and just an afterthought because they have to be there for the story line. Lana took this in a completely different direction however and made Sophie a main priority for both Cassie and Aiden and developed her personality in a way that made her relatable and unforgettable. While it is their love story, it is clear their love for this little girl completes their puzzle and makes them whole. I also love the carefree banter between Cassie and Aiden that make it seem like you are watching a rom com. Their relationship makes me smile at every page and between the sarcastic remarks and spicy comments this book has the perfect ratio of laughs to blushing moments.
Lana Ferguson is a new to me author and I really enjoyed her writing! Cassie is so likable and sweet (but not in an annoying way). Her chemistry and spice with Aiden kept me turning the pages eager to read more of them together. Aiden is a totally Zaddy 🥵 Cassie’s relationship with Sophie was really endearing. The fact she just wanted them to be happy no matter what was heartwarming and gave me all the feels. And I think everyone needs a Wanda in their life.

I need to preface this review by warning my fellow readers like me who have no poker face for smut reading in public, that this one isn't just open door. The author unhinged the door and knocked down all the walls. lol Like, seriously.
I'm always a bit wary of books written about caregivers, to be honest. But I read them in hopes of finding a story in which nannies aren't mvrd3r3rs or homewreckers. The premise of this one was interesting. Original.
Cassie becomes a live-in nanny for Sophie, daughter of a single dad chef (no home wrecking here, yay!) named Aiden, only to later find out he is one of her subscribers on an adult content platform, the one and only fan she had ever grown attached to. They'd never seen each other's faces before, so it was all a coincidence that fate brought them together IRL.
I enjoyed the first half of the book a lot. The tension was great, the pacing, the banter... Sophie is adorable. I absolutely love books with kids! So that was another plus. And Wanda, Cassie's friend, is hilarious. I loved how Cassie and Sophie bonded (Yay, no murd3r3r).
The second half, though, lost me a little. And it's just my opinion here, of course (friends who think there's no such thing as too much smut, please don't h4t3 me), but I'd love to see more of a connection between Cassie and Aiden outside the bedroom. Scenes that build on their relationship and emotional connection rather than just the physical.
Overall, I liked The Nanny and Lana's writing style. It was fun and entertaining.
The Nanny is out now, but thank #NetGalley and Berkley Romance for the gifted ARC.
This is literally the spiciest book I’ve ever read and, honestly, I’m 100% here for it! Mom, now’s the time to stop reading, this one is NOT for you. Everyone else, take an extended lunch break and go grab a copy because today is pub day!
Cassie and Aiden are our two main characters. Cassie is extremely likable! She has solid career goals, is best friends with her elderly neighbor, and has the sweetest connection with Aiden’s daughter, Sophie. I am also a huge fan of Aiden’s. He constantly tries to be the best dad he can be but, with the constraints of his job as an executive chef, he can’t be home as often as he’d like. Cue the hunt for the perfect nanny.
There is one main timeline but small flashbacks give the reader a taste of Cassie and Aiden’s past. What they don’t realize is they’ve met before…when Cassie had an active OnlyFans account and Aiden was a (frequent) subscriber. Hey, a girl’s got to pay for Grad school! Cassie is the first to connect the dots and the realization shocks her to her core. As they take their relationship from secret crush to molten lava, she has a huge decision to make. She doesn’t want to keep secrets but she also doesn’t want to lose the happiness she’s finally found with Aiden and Sophie.
The plot was fun, unique, and even suspenseful at times! The spice was well-written and, although there is a lot, I didn’t feel like it was just there to be there. It truly added to the depth of Cassie and Aiden’s connection. Wanda, Cassie’s elderly neighbor, is hilarious and seriously needs her own follow-up book! I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone (except you, mom) who is a fan of second chance romance, the single dad trope, and a plot that will give you all the emotions!
The Nanny is a story about characters who have to confront what scares them. Those conversations, vulnerabilities, and doubts which haunt us at night. Ferguson delivers a story that just builds on the scaffolding of these characters. On Aiden who is trying so hard to be a good dad and struggling to find balance. And Cassie who is so convinced she doesn't deserve happiness. I loved their instant chemistry and banter both in the present as they 'meet' for the first time and their previous relationship.
