Queen Charlotte of Malquar, believing herself a matchmaker, interferes with Prince Andrew's love life, complicating matters for him. Agnes Dupuis, a capable secretary for Princess Aubrey with her own career plans, becomes a pawn in the Queen's scheme as she's transferred to work closely with Drew. Drew, bound by royal obligations, resists his attraction to Agnes, who is oblivious to the manipulation. Will they bridge the gap and overcome their differences, or will societal expectations keep them apart, despite their undeniable connection?
What distinguishes this series is the incorporation of chapters featuring the main couple's meddling parents, particularly the Queen, who has a history of interference. In this installment, the Queen involves Agnes's mother and a friend, both unhappy in their own marriages, in her matchmaking efforts to bring Agnes and Andrew together. While well-intentioned, these chapters can feel somewhat distracting from the central romance.
The writing style is generally appealing, and I found myself entertained enough to read the book in one sitting. However, I didn't particularly warm to the hero. Despite his royal status, he doesn't come across as princely. At the outset, he purposefully behaves rudely toward Agnes, and later on, his behavior is attributed to snobbish cluelessness. I believe he needed more redemption and grander gestures, potentially making another character, Jones, a more appealing prospect.
I am grateful to NetGalley for providing me with this book, and I am offering this review voluntarily.
Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read an ARC of "Queen of Hearts", written by Whitney Dineen. This novel tells the story of Agnes, who takes a job working for Princess Aubrey. Her and Prince Drew, who is 35 years old and running out of time to find a bride, start to fall for each other with the help of the queen.
Overall, I rated this story 3/5 stars!
Another story where the Queen is working at finding someone for her son the Prince. The problem though Prince Andrew is a jerk most of the time to his new secretary. Angus Dupuis has the plan to work for the Royal family and then open her own family. What she does not want to put up with is the person, the man who at one time she thought she had a crush on, he has destroyed that with his attitude and words towards her. The good thing about her is that she does not let him get away with anything and gives back as good as she gets even better, to the point where he looks like the one who is picking on her, especially to his friend who is dealing with her husband who has cancer. I found this book to be one of the best ones by this author that I have read and I really liked the characters also. Very much worth the read.
Andrew is next in line to be king and he really take it seriously to the extent he willing to date someone suitable to be the future king. He set high standard on women he date and no women thus far good enough to date more than theee time. Agnes is his new private secretary whom he finds very attractive. This make him in a crossroad as he don’t know how to handle his feeling when Agnes is around especially whilst Agnes trying hard to set boundaries between them.
I love how Agnes goes against and won’t put up with Andrew’s crap. The meddling between their mothers leading the way to make a match between them is really fun to read.

Very cute story about an adorably pompous prince and his lovely secretary, who keeps knocking him down a peg or two. He says he can’t date her because she isn’t part of the aristocracy, but the Royal Mother disagrees.
The characters were written perfectly for this story. They drew you in and made you love them, even as you wanted to shake them for acting as they did. You will read it with a smile.
Whitney Dineen is an auto-buy author for me and this is one of my favourite series ever. Of course, by this book we already know the royal family of Malquar in general and the match-making propensities of Queen Charlotte in particular. Still, the story of Prince Andrew and Agnes is still as engaging and entertaining as the previous ones.
This is the sixth installment of the delightfully fun Seven Brides for Seven Mothers series. I have really been loving this series and this latest addition also did not disappoint. As always, Ms. Dineen's writing style is captivating and pulled me into the story from the start. Queen Charlotte is at it again, this time trying to play matchmaker for her son, Drew. She has the perfect candidate - Agnes who is her daughter's secretary. Drew and Agnes hit it off right away when she is assigned as his new secretary. Drew wants a love match, but knows he will need to marry a lady with a title one day and things could never work out between him and Agnes. He tries to fight his attraction and in doing so comes off as rude and dismissive and Agnes is at a loss, not understanding what she is doing wrong. Will Drew realize that what he could have with Agnes is far more precious than social standings?
This was another charming addition to the series and I had such a fun time reading it. I would definitely recommend reading this as well as the entire series.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This is a quick cute and very obvious romance. Mother wants son married, friend wants daughter married they plot together to keep their respective kids in each others faces till something happens.

What a delightful story. There were parts that made me laugh and parts that were sad. However, the moment I started reading the book I couldn’t put it down.
You can’t help but love Agnes and Drew. All of the characters were believable which made it seem so real. I could imagine being right there alongside the fun.
Well written with a great cast of characters. Can’t wait for the final installment.
Compared to the other books in the series, QUEEN OF HEARTS fell a little short for me. No one loves a good royal romance with the formal, stiff upper lip crowd than I do, but Prince Andrew was terribly indecisive for a man that would be the next king.
Agnes was suitably prim, proper and resistant to the thought of the two as a couple, but I wouldn’t have expected someone of her caliber to let Andrew play games with her emotions.
The meddling mothers get a big chunk of real estate in this book as their plotting reaches an almost daily occurrence. The story was good and it’s execution was okay.
This is such a fun series! I loved getting to know the children of the Queen, who, let's be honest, runs their lives. Andrew is probably my favorite so far because it's easy to identify with his need to act above reproach and be a good role model/leader. The scenes with Chantelle were so amusing that I was laughing out loud at times. The writing made it so easy to fall into the story and read for hours without even realizing it. Looking forward to getting to know the next one.
Another home run from this author. Everything you could want. another must read by Whitney Dineen. Go an read this today.
A big thank you to NetGalley and 33 Partner Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is number 6 in a series, but it reads quite well as a stand alone. Agnes and Prince Andrew just seemed like nice people. Interesting and normal. Their parents on the other hand are determined. This is pretty predictable but was still fairly entertaining. I felt like I would like to know these people. Fairly quick read as well. 3.5 stars
I guess most girls (from my generation) always dreamed of marrying a prince. So a royal romance is the ultimate romance to me.
I have read quite a few Whitney Dineen novels (but none of the series) and I must admit this one is not one of my favorites.
And it is not because it's exhausting to see Andrew play it hot and cold all along (which it is!)
I wanted so badly the happy ending that I kept reading. Thank God for the Filly subplot that showed Andrew's good side (he's not a really likable character otherwise).
The problem with this book according to me is the ending, and particularly its unbelievability. I wish it was different.
However, I liked Sophie and I am looking forward to reading her story.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing an eARC in exchange of an honest review.
I received an e-book via Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. Grumpy sunshine all the way! This book reminds me of Cinderella in some ways. Agnes is a strong beauty who speaks her mind. Andrew is a future king who is so stuck in his ways about finding just the right woman to marry. I like the story unfolding through different point of views. I love the slow-burning romance. There were some pretty funny moments in the story as well.
Remember back many years ago when you read all kinds of Harlequin books. They were inexpensive and the plot was always salisfying. Then we grew out of harlequin, and started reading real life, books, with an intriguing plot, sex, and an up-to-date plot. I think I don't really miss the small harlequinns now that the I think about the length.
Anyway, the Queen of Hearts reminds me of a Harlequinn romance. The King and Queen of Malquar are anxious to marry off their oldest son and heir before he has to take over the crown, he, on the other hand refuses all attempts to find him a wife. The Queen and her friend decide on the daughter of a joint friend. Hilarity ensues, and maybe love, and a fight at a fancy ball as the mothers' give it all they have.

Although this is a series, it's meant to be read as a stand-alone too. I haven't read any of the other books in the series and had no trouble enjoying this one on its own. It's a royal enemies-to-loves, forced proximity delight. I can think of worse things than being compelled to hide out in a palace with a hot prince for a few days! I'll be looking up the other books in the series.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.
Andrew maybe be a Prince but he is anything but charming to Agnes. He tries everything to make her quit so he won’t have to deal with the way he feels for her. Not knowing that there are others doing the complete opposite and pushing them together. As Agnes and Andrew struggle to keep their relationship strictly professional words are said and feelings get hurt. With the help of family and friends we see them overcome misunderstandings and a not so nice conspirator. What a wonderful and charming romance that gives you a happily ever after fit for a King or should I say Queen.
This is a great series and you get much more if you read them all but you can read each one as a standalone. Cannot wait for Princess Sophie’s story.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book for my honest opinion.
This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, from 33 Partner Publishing and #NetGalley. Thank you for the opportunity to preview and review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.
Fun, mischievous, quirky characters that I found entertaining.
This is the sixth book in the series. Those meddlesome mamas are up to their matchmaking shenanigans again. Now the Queen's sight is on her son that is heir to the throne. Poor Prince Andrew he is a little clueless at times. A comedy of errors with him when it comes to Agnes (his secretary) and his pursuit of a future queen. A few side stories going on that touched my heart and brought around how important having your priorities right are. The ending of this one a long with the epilogue left me with a big smile of my face and my romantic heart happy sighing. A great read and awesome addition to the series. I can't believe there is only one more book left in the series!
