King of Battle and Blood was AMAZING!! I couldn't wait to read Queen of Myrhs and Monsters. This was definitely a "tease," but I definitely plan to devour the whole book once I get my hands on it.
It was fine - had a hard time remembering what happened in book 1. Looking forward to reading the rest of the book.
Isolde is a total badass, and I cannot wait to continue this series. Truly, Scarlett st. Clair has outdone herself with this series, just as she did with the Hades and Persephone. I want to know whether Isolde becomes a vampire, will she free her mother’s people? All the questions that linger after 3 chapters. The anticipation is killing me, and I cannot wait to finish it.
This was such a lovely teaser to get before release day. I loved KOBAB, Unfortunately this one did not live up to my expectations in the end. I will, however, continue the series once book 3 releases.
Queen of Myth and Monsters was one of my most anticipated reads this year, and I have to be extremely honest when I say that it fell flat for me. I buddy-read with another reader and we each enjoyed different aspects of the book, but what I thought was going to be an immediate 5 star read was not such. First, I will say, the cliffhanger was great from the first book, but I felt like I needed a reread to remember everything that was going on. I also felt like some background information on side characters was not necessary. It felt as if we were being told how diverse the world is but having ever possible diversifying factor in the world. I think diversity is characters is necessary and amazing, but I do feel information was given on side characters (that we didn’t know well, and didn’t need to know well for this story line) that distracted from the main story line. I think this book was just giving me too much information and it was a little bit long winded. SSC will still be an automatic purchase author for me, this just wasn’t my favorite of her books! I did still purchase this book and tell my audience on Tiktok that it just wasn’t for me!
Oh I have missed these two characters so much! Isolde is now queen and finally figuring out who she really is but she is also dealing with the betrayal of her father and unsure who her true Allies are in Revekka. But that does not stop this woman from being a force to be reckoned with.
There is so much betrayal and conflict from people Adrian and Isolde have trusted and that only adds to the constant obstacles this couple faces daily. I love that Adrian owns up to his mistakes and is so patient with Isolde while she navigates her new life as queen. We also get Adrian’s POV and see that the goddess DIS is really starting to have a hold on him and ultimately his life with Isolde. Getting to see Adrian and Isoldes( Yesenias) past life together was also everything! So bittersweet. It really shows how long Adrian’s been fighting for them.
The story ended with a huge cliffhanger and I was so shocked! I cannot wait for the next book! I need more Adrian and Isolde🔥
absolutely amazing. Thank you to NetGalley for giving me this taste of something amazing by. my favorite author. I read the whole thing so quickly and I can't wait for book 3
I don't think that there are enough words for this book. I highly enjoyed the mini preview that was give and it made me want to read the whole book. I can't wait to read and get to know more of the characters. Scarlett St. Clair always finds a way to bring you close to her characters and makes you want to know them
The story is still exciting and full of action, with the expectation of romance between the two main characters. However, this book did not match expectations from the first book. This book focused on story building to prepare for what will happen next in the series. The twist that occurs in this book is so drawn out that it no longer becomes interesting. The anticipation that the audience is waiting for does not occur until the last few chapters, which seems like a waste of a book at times.
Thanks to NetGalley for the preview of Queen of Myth and Monsters.
This preview was the perfect length to put myself back into this world after some time away. It picked up right where the first book left off, and didn’t re-hash all of the events leading up to the end of that book which is always appreciated. It jumped right back in with the spice and action we saw in the first as well. Looking forward to reading the rest of the book.
I loved reading this preview for Queen of Myth and Monsters by Scarlett St. Clair. I pre-ordered the ebook version so I could read the rest of it once it became available. Thank you!
Was really unimpressed with this installation of the series. Unfortunately I will not be reading anymore books in this series. They are too drawn out.
I have been anxiously anticipating this sequel to King of Battle & Blood for some time, and Scarlett St Clair does not disappoint! Isolde has been coronated. Political intrigue ensues. We learn more about the many of the characters (Isolde, Ana, Adrian, Sorin, and Daroc) and details on their back stories. I definitely found that Isolde in “King of Battle and Blood”was very morally gray, while I didn’t quite get that same vibe in Queen of Myth and Monsters.
And GIRL, the SPICE! Three chili peppers 🤣 Isolde & Adrian have CHEMISTRY!!
Scarlett St. Clair's writing is just so good that I want to savor it, which is not my usual style. This preview doesn't answer my most pressing question from King of Battle and Blood, but I trust her to deliver an amazing story.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publish for the opportunity to review.
I love experiencing the teasers! You’re immediately thrust back into the world of Adrian and Isolde and left craving for more!
*This book was sent to me via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*
I was so excited to get this preview & can't wait to read the full book. I have mine ordered & it's shipping out this week!!
I loved this so very much. I love these characters a lot from the first book and can't wait to see what else they get up to.
Ugh Scarlett can do no wrong in my opinion. Her ability to make the words jump off the page and give the reader a vivid imagination of what’s happening is perfection. I love her books and this preview made me buy the book asap so I could finish. Which I would have bought anyway since I love her writing style and content.
I have been waiting all year for this book and this teaser has me even more on edge! Like right from the start, WE ARE STEAMY and I am here for it. I loved the first book a lot and I'm looking forward to seeing Adrian and Isolde's relationship grow. My one concern is that book 1 at times felt like many scenes separate scenes rather than a cohesive book and I'm hoping that book 2 won't have this problem. So far, I didn't get this feeling in the preview but it's probably too soon to tell. I know for sure though I will love this book as much as I love all of Scarlett's books.
This was exactly what I was waiting for
Adrian and Isolde are so hot and their story is getting more and more intense, could not put down and I was glad it was released later because I needed to binge this book so badly!
I ended up buying the paperback too! Am I obsessed or what?
