Christmas at the Amish Market by Shelley Shepard Gray is the kind of audiobook that wraps around you like a warm quilt on a snowy evening—gentle, and absolutely soul-soothing.
The narration is superb—calming, warm, and filled with just enough emotional nuance to draw you in without ever rushing the moment. The festive setting of the market adds an extra layer of coziness: think fresh-baked pies, handmade crafts, and the kind of community spirit that makes you believe in the goodness of people all over again.
This audiobook is the perfect listen for those who crave a clean, heartfelt romance with characters who feel like old friends. Shelley Shepard Gray delivers yet another touching holiday tale that lingers long after the final chapter. A true five-star holiday delight!

Tried to enjoy this book but it just wasn’t for me. Not sure if it was the writing style but I couldn’t connect with it.

Wesley and Liesl have been courting for a few years now. He works all the time in his families store and her family is hoping he will propose soon. She invites her aunt to come stay with them and help him out in the store while his father is away with health issues.
Jenny arrives and becomes a big help to Wesley at the store. Jenny is helping out a single father with his daughter by babysitting and making their clothes.
This quickly turns into a relationship with the wrong person situation. The ending is a happy one. This is something I am not used to seeing. Typically you would not find this kind of situation within an Amish story so be aware as you go into this.
It is a clean romance though. The story was interesting and overall enjoyable. However, if this situation is something that would bother you, you may want to skip this one, as the whole book centers around it.
I listened to the audiobook narration by Suzie Althens. She did a wonderful job with this narration and I would definitely check out more from her.
Thank you NetGalley, Hallmark Publishing, and Shelley Shepard Gray for the review copy of this book that took me forever to get to.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for a chance to read and review this book in exchange for an honest review. I love all things Christmas, Amish and Shelley Shepard Gray! Wonderful story that was easy and entertaining from start to finish.

Just your average girl with her love for Hallmark Christmas backed books giving all the Hallmark Christmas Movie vibes! This one was so cute! Plus it had a great twist on it's love story, which I loved! This one was such a great read for the holiday!

I was invited to listen to this audiobook on netgalley.com. Let me start off with saying that this book was so wonderful that I have promptly purchased a copy to own and read again! I also listened to this story during a very difficult time in my life as my gentle dad was moved into hospice. This story gave me joy and hope in a truly dark time. I really enjoyed getting to know all of the characters in this story, Jenny, Wesley, Liesl and Roland (plus his lovely daughter, Lilly). As I was introduced to each character, and in turn, listened to the story from their perspective, I fell in love with these characters. My favorite characters were Liesl and Roland. My favorite scene, the Pinery. To walk on the paths with these characters again at the Pinery, is worth the whole story. I really enjoyed this story very much. I can't wait to read it again.

Such a sweet and cozy romance within an Amish setting. It was charming and I really enjoyed its Christmas theme too.

This is the first book I read in my new kindle and first NetGalley book. This was my first read on my Kindle 🎉and first NetGalley read 😃 . I didn’t know what to expect from an Amish romance. It was light but the characters had depth. I loved how the characters were very realistic but struggled with the dialogue. It was hard for me to think of people actually speaking to each other this way but overall I liked the book and would read another.

A lovely, lighthearted read perfect for the Christmas season. The story was fun and enjoyable and the audiobook narration was wonderful. Liesl, Jenny, and Wesley’s lives are intertwined in such a curious way, and reading their story unfold was captivating and fun. I wasn’t familiar with this author before reading this book, but her storytelling is beautiful and I’ll definitely be seeking out her other books.

Do you have a favorite shop you like to go to at Christmas time or for other times you like to give gifts? We have a few, but Seroogy’s Chocolate shop in Green Bay is a favorite.
Christmas at the Amish market is my last Christmas audiobook of the season. Wesley is running his family’s Amish market during the busy Christmas season as his father is having health problems. This does not leave him with enough time to get to visit with his girlfriend, Liesl. Liesl enlists her Aunt Jenny to help Wesley out at the Market. Much to Wesley’s surprise, Aunt Jenny is his age. As they start to work together, sparks start to fly. But how can they think about romance with Liesl in the picture? Liesl has also been helping out a widower with his young daughter and has been feeling sparks of her own. Will everyone find their happily ever after at Christmas?
The forbidden romance trope sometimes can annoy me when I feel that people are getting hurt or lying is involved. Christmas at the Amish Farm though played this trope perfectly. I could tell right away that Wesley and Liesl were friends that everyone thought should be together, but they really shouldn’t be. Everything in the story played out well as the characters made their realizations about how they felt about each other and how they would move forward. I just have to say that Christmas Eve is a really bad day to break off a relationship with someone!
Suzie Althens was a good narrator, and this was a delightful Amish romance Christmas story. Now that we are into January, I am moving on from Christmas audiobooks for now!

I loved listening to this audiobook. I loved the narrator that read the story. I felt that she did a wonderful job voicing each character. I loved Jenny, Wesley and Liesl. I loved the sweet romance and the troubles that each character had to work through. I received a copy of this audiobook from Netgalley for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

A fantastic book! I enjoyed the characters and the story line! The characters had some great personalities! A must read!

I enjoyed this book so different from normal amish life books of restriction. A nice change for maybe true to life story of love. Nothing I would change but maybe a sequel to continue the 2 couples story.

Christmas at the Amish Market is a delightful, though predictable, romance where all obstacles are overcome and all's well that ends well. Wesley is courting Liesl and she is not happy with all the time he is putting in running his family's busy Amish Market while his father is ill. She doesn't like his long hours and distracted countenance when she does see him. Since it is obvious he needs help (and Liesl doesn't want to work in the store), she suggests her aunt come to help while she has time off from her duties as a nanny.
Jenny, Liesl's aunt, comes to help and Wesley is grateful for the help but very surprised to discover that Aunt Jenny is only just a bit older than Liesl. Jenny pitches in at the market while Liesl is spending more and more time with the recently widowed neighbor and his daughter. Liesl has a successful sewing business and loves to make clothes for the little girl.
Eventually Liesl's mother notices that her daughter's romance isn't going exactly as planned and confronts all parties involved. The young people sort out their own feelings and everything is resolved happily.
Narrated by Suzie Althens, this is sure to be popular with fans of the Hallmark channel and Amish fiction.

Sweet storyline and gives you all the feels!! Definitely enjoyed audio narration. Perfect holiday time story!!

Wesley has been so busy running his family’s Amish market in the weeks leading up to Christmas that he does not have time to spend with Liesl, the girl he has been courting for years. Liesl suggests her aunt Jenny come to town and help Wesley in his store, and he agrees but is shocked when he learns that aunt Jenny is only 26 years old. Jenny is reeling from a recent breakup and has nothing but time on her hands while the family she nannies for has given her the holidays off. Running the store gives her something to focus on. When she starts to fall for Wesley, however, she is torn as she couldn’t possibly go for the man Liesl is expecting to marry. Liesl has her own complicated feelings, though, as she has been helping out a recent widower and his daughter as they deal with the loss of their wife/mother.
This was a sweet Christmas story and lives up to the standards I have come to expect from a Hallmark book. It was refreshing to read a story where there was no villain to overcome. If you enjoy Amish fiction, I recommend checking this book out!
Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an audio ARC of this book.

I sometimes have trouble getting into the audio of books like this one, but this one held my attention. It was interesting to see how the holiday was celebrated and how they still enjoyed many of the activities nonAmish people would. I liked the story. I figured out what would happen early, but it was interesting to see how it played out.

This book was sooo good! I loved the characters and the setting was cool! I enjoyed the Christmas time atmosphere and emotions!
I enjoyed the usual Hallmark storyline!
I was given an ARC from NetGalley!
Thank you so much to the author and the publishers and NetGalley!

The busy Christmas season at the family store keeps Wesley away from his long-time girlfriend. Liesl and Wesley have been going steady for years, and she expects the young man to finally ask for her hand in marriage. This holiday season has surprising life-changing events waiting for the young couple.
Christmas at the Amish Market is a short and heartwarming story of finding true love during the most magical time of the year. Written in true Hallmark fashion - sweet and clean with a slow-burn romance. I love that the reader gets to see things through the eyes of all four main characters. That made the book really balanced.
Thank you, NetGalley and Shelley Shepard Gray for a free and advanced copy of the novel in the exchange for my honest review.

This is a charming love story about falling in love with the person that compliments you most. The characters are charming as the reader watches them grow through the trials of life and the struggles of relationships. I loved the happy ending that tied up all the story's loose ends.
I listened to the audiobook as well. The narrator had lots of inflection in their voice when they read the story, but had little voice differentiation for the characters' dialogue. I would give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review!
