This is a good typical Amish romance story by Gray, but nothing stands out to make it unique. Fans of Amish novels will approve.

A great book but had a lot of filler in some places. Really great narrator and relaxing to listen to. Cute Hallmark story and a fun holiday read.

Two love stories wrapped up into one. This is very similar to a Hallmark Movie and it was nice to experience it at Christmas time. Although the story line was pretty predictable at times it was still enjoyable. I was not a fan of “Liesl.” and I think because of that was more disinterested in her story than the other. I often wished that someone would give her some constructive criticism on her attitude — lol. Overall it was a sweet story that was a bit fluffy — sometimes though you need a little fluff. I will be checking out more by this author.

Thank you NetGalley for a complimentary copy for an honest review.

Well this was my first Amish love story so I went into it pretty blind. I loved the family dynamic and the different love stories. Both had complications but I felt like one was more developed than the other. One thing this book left me wanting was more interaction between Westley and Jenny. There was so much potential there and I felt I needed a little more to really root for their relationship. I felt like even though we were supposed to be following their story I related more and was more interested in Liesl's story.

Overall, this is like this was an amish Hallmark movie in book form. It has a holiday twist which I really enjoyed. Perfect read for cozy-ing up by the fire on a cold day. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this story.

Thank you to the Publishers and NetGalley for allowing me the ARC Audiobook. I enjoyed this "Hallmark" style Christmas story. The Amish aspect was new to me as far as books go, even though I live in area close to Amish Communities, The story was well structured, the storyline made sense to the time line and all the activities and the duel love interests was a great change of pace then the typical single love story. The Narrator did a great job.

Hello everyone! I just finished listening to Christmas at the Amish Market by Shelley Shepard Gray. I enjoyed it because it is fun, light reading—or listening for the Christmas season. The narration was excellent, and it's simply an interesting twist on the Amish romance books I've read in the past. It's also an almost guaranteed happy ending since it's also a Christmas book. I always want happy endings!

Christmas at the Amish Market has some beautiful scenes and traditions that make me want to be there. ~smile~ There's also an interesting twist on a corn maze with a secret involved that made me smile. There's also an adorable little girl who says the sweetest things. This is a feel good story to enjoy while working about the house or to snuggle up with in your most comfortable chair with a hot cuppa.

Four stars... That means I really liked it.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the audio version. If you like Amish style Hallmark story plots you might want to check this book out. The story was engaging and the characters I actually really enjoyed in the plot. The story takes place during Christmas time so you might want to give it a read for this Christmas month.

I received a free audiobook of, Christmas at the Amish Market, by Shelley Shepard Gray, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is a clean romance that centers around an Amish family. There a lot of characters but they are well defined so it is easy to distinguish among them. The Christmas feelings are a little light and it feels this story could take place at any time of the year and still have the same impact. It was easy to see from the beginning where this story was heading but the author made it an enjoyable read. I wish they would have all set down and a talk a little sooner and I would have liked to have a little more at the end with the families but it was a light easy read that I could listen to without much focus. The chapters are short making it easy to stop and start as needed.

This was a slow-moving love story that takes place in an Amish community. The language gives you a bit of flavor, as does the free time activities. The development of the two love stories was predictable, so the pacing felt a bit too slow. It was an interesting read, but I’m not sure if I would go back for more. Each girl had a specific skill set that made the choice of partners pretty clear. Hearing it as an audiobook would have been better with more voices and accents. For sure and for certain!

This is such a sweet story! I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about it going into it as it’s not my normal type of book at all but I found that I really liked it.
Wesley has been extremely busy running his family’s Amish market during the holidays. He has had very little time for the woman he has been courting for years. Liesl. When she suggests that he consider asking her aunt Jenny to help him out he agrees to it. However, Liesl failed to tell him that her aunt is only twenty six years old and a real charming girl.
Jenny is still healing her heart after a painful breakup. She jumps at the chance to help out and thinks it will be a great distraction. She soon realizes, though, that Wesley is everything she has ever hoped for in a man. Jenny is upset with herself for even thinking that way about the man Liesl expects to marry.
All the while, Liesl’s own feelings are becoming more complicated even though she is unwilling to admit it. As time goes on, just how will they all sort out these complicated feelings?
This book is cute. It has a nice bit of humor that keeps it from becoming too serious. It’s a refreshingly sweet story and perfect for a feel good holiday read.
I received a copy of the audiobook from Netgalley (thank you so much!) and absolutely loved the narrator on this one. She’s really good and her voice keeps the story interesting and you sort of fall into it. She’s really good.

Christmas at the Amish Market by Shelley Shepard Gray is a sweet and delightful Amist Christmas story.

This story was a sweet story filled with the Christmas spirit. It is filled with loveable characters that is romantic, entertaining, and an easy read.

The story follows Liesl Fisher and Wesley Raber who are long-time sweethearts that have been dating for years. Wesley loves Liesel, however he can’t bring himself to propose. Wesley is busy managing his parents market store which limits his time available to spend with Liesl. The Christmas season bring a lot of business to the market which makes for a busy time, especially as Wesley is managing it along while his father is away for health reasons. Liesl is a busy seamstress and brings in her aunt to help Wesley at the market.

I recommend this book to readers of Amish Fiction. If you enjoy Hallmark movies, and sweet romances you will enjoy this book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. through NetGalley for my honest opinion

I absolutely LOVED this book!!! The author was so descriptive in setting the scenes at home and the store that I could visualize myself where the characters were. The story was tender and loving and just such a joy to read. The relationship with Wesley and Jenny was one of love and respect and you could feel the love that Jenny has for her niece Liesl. Just the perfect Christmas book!!!

Synopsis from Amazon:
Wesley is so busy running his family’s Amish market during the holidays, he barely has time for Liesl, the young woman he’s been courting for years. When she suggests her aunt Jenny could help Wesley out, he agrees to the plan. But Liesl neglected to mention her aunt is only twenty-six years old—and as charming as she is hard-working.
Jenny, still healing after a painful breakup, welcomes the distraction of working at the market. She soon realizes Wesley is everything she ever dreamed a man could be. But how can Jenny even think about romance with the man Liesl expects to marry?
But Liesl’s own feelings are more complicated than she’s willing to admit. With humor, faith, and a little help from their friends in the community, everyone might just find what their hearts are looking for this Christmas at the Amish market.

I love Amish Christmas books and this was no exception! The hustle and bustle while trying to live a simple life is captured among this snowy story about four young people. I really loved Liesl's energetic character and feel bad that Wesley doesn't value her but at the same time her priorities and the author does a wonderful job of balancing their flaws and goodness. The ending where Liesl accepts her aunt and Wesley dating hit me a bit strange. I guess I'd expect more anger. But being that their relationship was a pure one, her heart was held by a widow, and Amish are very forgiving people, it worked out. Definitely cozy and I recommend. I listened to the audio version and narrator was amazing!

Welcome to the Amish Market for a delightful read by Shelley Shepard Gray! This book will get you in the Christmas spirit. Wesley and Liesl are dating, but they are in rut. It’s Christmas at Wesley’s store and he needs extra help. So Liesl suggests her Aunt Jenny come to work at the shop. Expecting an older woman, Wesley is shocked that Jenny is close to his age. Liesl is spending more time seeing and with a handsome widower, Roland and his young daughter. Some people talk about a love triangle, this was a love rectangle!
This book definitely shows us that God is in control and He knows what is best for us. I enjoyed this sweet story. Many thanks to the author, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

💭Thoughts:
This was my first Amish book. I enjoyed gaining some insight into the language and culture of the Amish. The narration was great and flowed well.

This is a quick, engaging, clean romance. I found all of the characters to be very likable, especially young Lilly. She was just adorable.

I enjoyed the progression of the story and how the romantic conflicts worked out. I think some of the emotional struggles of Lisel and Wesley could be triggering for some people who have dealt with emotional cheating in the past.

Overall, it’s a great Christmas time read and recommend the audiobook version.

Thank you @netgalley, @shelley.s.gray, and @dreamscape_media for an advanced copy to listen to and review.

I am really enjoying all the Christmas offerings this year. Christmas at the Amish Market finds Wesley running his family's general store while his father recovers from heart surgery. He wants to prove to his parents that he is capable of running the store so his parents can retire. He is way too busy to spend time with his girlfriend, Liesl. Liesl tries to help out by asking her aunt to come and help out with the Christmas rush while she has time off as the Englisher family she is nanny for goes on vacation. Jenny agrees to help out and heads to the Amish District to live with her sister's family and help out while earning some money. Meanwhile Liesl is helping out a local Amish widower with his young daughter. With all these platonic friendships going on, it is no wonder that feelings arise that are totally unexpected.

This was an interesting Christmas Amish story. I loved the premise that sometimes your perfect match is not who you think it will be. This is a clean, Amish romance, but there is a lot of emotional cheating going on. All four characters, Liesl, Wesley, Jenny and Roland struggle with their feelings and whether they are right or not. They also can't believe the other person they care for could possibly care about them. I love stories where young children steal the show and that is exactly what young Lilly does. I enjoyed seeing the characters come to grips with their feelings and solve their problems without hurting each other. There was a lot of Christmas Spirit and family goings on. Christmas at the Amish Market was an enjoyable story that I recommend to those who enjoy Amish and Christian Fiction. It is nice to see so many characters get their happily ever after, especially at Christmas time. Suzie Althens narrates this story and does a wonderful job with the voices, both old and young, male and female. She uses her expression to share the emotions of the story. I recommend this one in either format, especially if you are looking for some good, clean Christmas magic.
