Mmm…. I took me a long time to get into this book.
I wasn’t super fan of Callie, she fall is love super fast and that is okay! What I didn’t like to much was that she was so insecure of her own feelings and she projected that on Julien.
Julien was just out of a relationship and sure Callie wasn’t aware at the beginning but even after knowing she kept hiding her feelings and expecting Julian to know!

Callie and Julien coming finally together felt a little bit rushed and a little more of character development was needed.

Something that I truly loves was how Paris was portrayed, it truly felt like being there.

Callie was a real gem. Who can't relate to her? She kind of just speaks what she means, second-guesses herself, and falls way too hard and too fast. Julien is hot and he's sweet and he's her best friend's brother. They finally meet on the last 4 days she has in Paris. It's crazy to start something, right? Or maybe it'd be crazy not to?

I thought this story was delightful. I enjoyed that there was no big separation or crisis, that everything was real and on a normal level. It was never a question of will they or won't they, but should they? And what happens if you meet the one, right before you're supposed to leave somewhere? Heart or head? Which do you follow? You've been burnt before, but this could be spectacular. Better than all those rom-coms you've ever watched.


This is the kind of book you curl up with a cup of cocoa and a few hours to yourself and let yourself be immersed in someone else's problems. No super-contrived plot, but something real and relatable if only you take out she's living in Paris. I would definitely read this again. It gave me all the warm and fuzzies. I'm eager to read more from this author.

It was a cute short read. It was just a normal romantic comedy in my opening. Not very realistic and I’m not sure if it’s because I read the ARC it needed better editing as words were misspelled and there were grammatical errors. If you like cute romantic novels I would definitely recommend. Thank you @netgallery and author @lexihaddock for letting me read the ARC!

This was a really quick read for me. That being said, it's a good and a not so good thing. I thought the characters were okay, but I didn't connect with them hugely. But, I did enjoy some of the dialogue and descriptions. Cliche at times but honestly, I enjoyed that. When I read an international romance, I hope for those types of feelings and plot lines.

I wasn’t so sure about this book when I first started reading, but it really grew on me! It’s definitely a slow burner at the start and the first few chapters feel like a lot of backstory, but the second half is very enjoyable.

The main plot is around Callie’s final four days in Paris, which coincides with New Year’s Eve 1999. As the century and millenium change, so too does Callie’s luck with love. After a painful break up just after she moved to Paris to be with boyfriend Vic, Callie has a few failed flings/relationships and eventually wonders if she’ll find love (admittedly she’s only 23, so she has time).

Enter attractive Frenchman Julien, brother of one of her closest friends in Paris. Cue falling head over heels for him (Callie has always fallen fast and hard), creating a rift between her and Julien’s sister, and also coming up against some bad history in his dating past.

The ending felt a little rushed, but it was a pleasant, easy read. For those of us too young to remember the turn of the millennium, it was fun to read about what Paris would have been like during the celebrations. I often forgot that the book was set in 1999/2000 until it comes up that mobile phones can only make calls and people have to use a physical map instead of an app. How… retro (kidding).

A solid 4 star book for me.

From the moment I began reading this book, I knew that I was going to be in for a different type of ride. I loved Callie's story and her love/hate relationship with Paris and pretty much everything in Paris. Obviously Callie's original plans for Paris didn't work out but now, four days before she leaves she meets Julien on NYE... Too good to be true, right...? Or is it?
I don't think I will ever be able to get enough of her story, I love how much of a battle it was for her to even admit she wanted to leave Paris in the first place and then this hunk of a man gets thrown in your face? Get outta here! Overall I really enjoyed it and I loved this book!

The story itself was really cute. I do love a good romance story sometimes but this one didn’t hit me. The romance/was instant and tropes like that don’t last long. They get boring and I couldn’t keep myself from getting bored and zoning out. I’m sorry but I just couldn’t continue with this book. I hate putting books down and not going back to finish them. It just wasn’t for me.

I want to start this review by letting you know in advance that I DNFed ( did not finish) this book. I got a little under halfway through with this book but decided to put it down and continue on to another book because this one was sadly not for me.

Reasons why I want to read this:
-I love romance novels and this plot intrigued me because it sounded unique.
-It took place in Paris around new years which sounded very romantic in its on

Reasons why I DNFed:
-It was all very insta lovey, which is not one of my favorite tropes. I didn’t know this going in or I might now have picked it up. But if you like instant love then I would recommend but sadly that specific trope falls flat for me.
-The whole story was very slow and I kept zoning out as I was reading which is very unusual for me. It just had a very basic plot and nothing about the story was unique.

Overall:
In summary I think this story had a lot of potential but just fell flat for me personally, but I feel like others would really enjoy this if they are into the certain tropes this author uses. This was a cute romance that takes place in Paris in 1999. Callie is coming to Paris to be with her boyfriend who ends up dumping her as soon as she lands. She decides to stay in Paris with two of her best friends for the next 6 months.

This story takes place the 4 days before/during the time that she is going to be leaving. I’m not the biggest fan of instant love especially when it is done in a one moment kind of love. But I did enjoy reading about how they got to know each other during the 4 days and how they got along.

I do wish we had more background/information on the characters so it wasn’t so one dimensional to me. But damn it they only have 4 days together how about they communicate!!! Just talk to each other!

The start of this book was so wonderfully written and was such a strong beginning. I wish the ending was the same but it seemed to drag on and it got repetitive at times.

This sweet international romance brought great warmth to my heart every single page. Callie moves to Paris and gets her heart broken only to fall in love again 4 days before she moves back to the US. Does a new Millenium mean a new chance at love? I was desperate to know how the story ends and if Callie and Julien end up together and exactly how they make it work. This book fulfilled my love and passion for history and travel with a romance for the ages.

I found this book slow moving and a bit boring. Very disappointed as I am a francophile. I also feel that the author may not know France as well as they should. I will not share my opinion on Amazon or other sites.

This should be listed as YA. No new territory, a weak main character, and forgettable cast. Not even enough Paris scenery to make it fun. Mostly predictable and flat.

As much as I love Paris, I just couldn't get into this book. Maybe I just read it at the wrong time, but I so sadly didn't care enough about the story to be engaged. I will have to try at a different point, because I do think I could get there in a different frame of mind.

I absolutely adored this read. It was really quick and light so not overly detailed but it was a lovely story of love and friendship and the trials and tribulations of a whirlwind romance.

I really liked the sound of this and the cover sealed the deal. As I started reading and was thrown back to the run up to the new millennium it made me laugh remembering all the things we thought might happen as 2000 hit us.
The characters are all really well written and I could see this becoming a series focusing a different book on a different friend, if the author decided to go that way I would definitely read them!

4 days in Paris is a super cute romance. However, it's very very cliché. That being said it's an easy read and I enjoyed reading it! Just not much depth.

I really wanted to like 4 Days in Paris. I liked the title and the cover. Paris is a city with a fascinating history and a special mystique. Unfortunately, 4 Days in Paris reads in one part like a high school girl's dream fantasy about study abroad and in the other part like a travelogue of tourist sites. I actually expected Callie Sparks to wake up at some point and reveal to us readers that she was dreaming.
First of all, Callie's heart is broken when she discovers that study abroad boyfriends don't wait two years for a girl to finish her degree and return so they can marry her and live happily ever after on pain au chocolat. Her French bestie Emilie who seems to only have two American girls as her besties also has a hot brother who has just ended a five year relationship to a girl he intended to marry. He shows up on New Years Eve and Callie Sparks start feeling sparks.
I could accept the story up to this point, until hot brother Julien has his hands all over Callie, kisses her repeatedly, and she seems okay with this despite knowing zero about him. In between we are told repeatedly neither one is the fling type. In basically what amounts to 48 hours they cement their connection. Callie demands Julien's undivided attention and loyalty to her in this short period of time even though there is a scene where his longtime ex-girlfriend's mother is dying. His own mother calls him and Callie is furious. There is no room in the world for anyone or anything but her if this acquaintance is to move forward to something more. For me, this was emotional abuse and made me wonder not only about Julien but his past relationship with the other girl.
So for me, this story was a hard NO on so many levels. I appreciate the opportunity to read 4 Days in Paris and thank both NetGalley and Lexi Haddock for the ARC.
