Quick Summary: A second, third chance romance

My Review: His Partnership Proposal by Jacquelin Thomas is part of a series called Polk Island. It is a book that broached a number of topics. Major themes were related to family life and parenting choices, unspoken betrayals, forgiveness and reconciliation, and overcoming adversity.

About the Characters: Because family played such a huge role for both leads, there was no shortage of primary and secondary characters. The comparisons and contracts between Terian and Aubrie's families were interesting, to say the least. At the end of the day, all I know is that Terian proved to be his father's son.

My Final Say: Although this novel did try to end the story wrapped nicely in a bow, it was not always so easily digested. Quite frankly, I found Terian's level of maturity to be noticeably different from Aubire's, particularly when they returned to NOLA. Before I knew what was happening, he turned his tantrum into a proposal. (What?!) I was stunned by how quickly Aubrie responded and in what manner she did so. I'm all for love, grace, and forgiveness, but he didn't really even try to work for it.

Other: I loved the initial confrontation between the leads. Aubrie was cool as a cucumber (even though she wasn't). Terian was a mixed bag for me.

This is the 4th book in the “Polk Island Series”. This is an entertaining read that is an easy read with great characters and a great plot that held me captive. I am so loving the couple on the front on the book cover. I definitely recommend picking up a copy for your reading enjoyment. You will not be disappointed. Terian and Aubrie are both chefs and share a past from their culinary school days. Terian broke Aubrie’s heart once. Terian will do whatever it takes to please his dad after being constantly put down by his dad. Aubrie and Terian put their culinary skills together by partnering in co-owning a restaurant.

Will partnering with Aubrie co-owning a restaurant help Terian with his father, will Aubrie forgive Terian for breaking her heart, will the two be doing more than cooking in the kitchen, is there an HEA in store for Aubrie and Terian?

I received an ARC via NetGalley and HARLEQUIN - Romance (U.S. & Canada), Harlequin Heartwarming and I am leaving my review voluntarily.
