Funny, fun, feel good, and just all around a good adventure! I would definitely read more from this author as things come out! Great first novel! Recommend this to anyone looking for a good romcom!
Such a cute, fun, funny, heartfelt book. I loved it and will be looking forward to more by the author.
This is a great, heart-warming, funny romantic comedy that I loved reading. I had never read any of this author’s work before so was unsure of what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised when I got a well written book with great characters.
What a fun light hearted read loved the main characters and loved the storyline and it was so funny too!!! I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it to anyone that enjoys a good rom com 😊
Much thanks to #netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this ARC

Revenge Honeymoon is a fun, quick rom com read. It wasn’t heavy and had a lot of witty, funny banter.
After being left at the Alter Ruby and her bestie Emily take the couples honeymoon cruise together. Emily wants to help Ruby forget and be happy again and Ruby wants to just pretend nothing even happened.
I felt that it was a pretty surface level read in my opinion, i didn’t get a lot of depth in our MCs, some small tid bits of background were given on our besties but not enough to grasp anything deeper.
It did irk my nerves that one of our Bestie MCs had some body positive issues because she was a bit more curvy, and that her love interest basically flipped a switch the first night they were together that now she doesn’t feel that way anymore. I didn’t feel it was very believable as a person who has body positivity issues.
If you are looking for a palate cleanser, maybe a lighter surface level travel read, this would be a great choice. I thought it was fun and enjoyable but could have been better in certain aspects!
Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a first time read for me by this author and I had a great time reading it. The story is fun, filled with laughs, crazy antics, and witty banter and had me laughing and smiling the whole way through. Emily has a big heart and when her friend is jilted at the altar, she will do anything to help her get over her devastation. Even pretend to be married to her. Emily convinces her friend to go on the planned honeymoon cruise to exact the best revenge on her ex, but the only problem is it's a cruise for newlywed couples only. So they pretend to be married, but then Emily meets someone she is attracted to and really connects with, but she risks blowing their cover if she pursues him.
This lighthearted and cute romantic comedy is the perfect read when you want to wind down after a long day and just have some fun. A well-written story with charming and quirky characters, I really enjoyed this book!
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
The plot sounded good which led me wanting to read this book so far I'm on the fence. It has a great opening scene but then it's left aiming high but reaching low for me. The characters aren't gelling well. DNF.

Revenge Honeymoon is a fun and light-hearted Romcom that is well written and a lot of fun to read. When Emily's best friend Ruby is left at the alter, the friends decide to take her honeymoon cruise together to spite Ruby's ex-fiance. When they end up on a cruise meant only for newlyweds they think this is the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy each other's company without the distractions of work, family and their nonexistent love lives. A wrench is thrown into their plans when Emily falls for the cute single photographer hired to take photos on the cruise and when Ruby's ex tries to win her back.
I feel like there is one phrase that really sums this book up and that is: "perfect balance". The characters are the perfect amount of quirky, funny and silly without being awkward. The romance has the perfect amount of build up, sexiness and cuteness without being too steamy. It was a great length, a quick and light read, and was well written. So if you're looking for the perfect romcom, I think this is the book for you!
Over the course of the story we see Emily, the main character, come out of her shell. Gillenwater clearly put a lot of effort into character development, and Emily's story arc shows the greatest depth and transformation. While she was the quirky, self-conscious, sidekick-like-main-character, readers see her blossom as she finally stops worrying about how she thinks everyone else sees her and begins to develop some self-love.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it. It would be a perfect beach or travel read, especially because the setting is a honeymoon cruise! It also has short enough chapters and is a fairly light and easy read, making it perfect for some light reading on the beach or to kill time on a long flight as you head to your own sunny destination. Thanks to much to NetGalley and Xpresso tours for giving me the chance to read this fabulous book and take part in the book blitz tour this week!

When Emily Small finds herself trying to save her friend, Ruby, who has been left at the altar, her idea is to go on the honeymoon with her. Realising that the non-refundable cruise is for newlyweds only, they decide to go as a couple. Yet complications arise when Emily begins to fall for the ship’s hot photograph, Max Keeling. Having always played second to Ruby, she is struggling to support her best friend whilst attempting to explore her new found attraction to Max.
The instant love was a bit hard to believe but with time, this book did make for a good read. The friendship between Emily and Ruby, was great and added to this storyline.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I had a bit of a hard time getting through this one because even though it starts really nicely and the description draws you in, I really couldn’t connect with the main character. She was repetitive about her best friend and I wasn’t a huge fan of all the instalove happening - but if someone else is a fan of instalove, then I think they’re probably going to enjoy this one. I think the book could use a bit more editing for the repetitions, but I also think the author has a lot of potential. I’d love to read about Ruby!
3.5/5
Did you know how beautiful Ruby is? How about how every man stares at her? Or what about how she is oblivious to it? Well the reader does since we are told every other page in the first chapter.
But other then that this was a cute fun read about best friends, one who was stood up at her wedding, Ruby and the other Emily who was her maid of honor. Instead of canceling the honeymoon cruise they go on it together, oh and they pretend to be a couple. But Emily starts to fall in love with one of the other passengers, Max so hilarity ensues! Between Ruby playing up the fact that they are a “couple” to Emily being a blabber mouth it was an entertaining book to read.
I really enjoyed the storyline it was a refreshingly new take on the best friend saves the other best friend from heartbreak at their wedding story arch.
I received this book in return for an honest review.
Check out the book coming out on October 30th. You can find it on KU
I really enjoyed this book, reading it all in one go. Emily is the inner voice of a lot of women, thinking she is flabby and undesirable – when in fact she is gorgeous no matter her size. I enjoyed watching her grow more confident as the story progressed.
I especially enjoyed the small male POV that showcased the male insecurities regarding profession, body image and their view on women and relationships.
The only small issue with this book were a few inconsistencies within the story, but they didn't harm the book overall.
It was a good story, with a slow burn, forced proximity romance and the easily relatable characters were loveable and funny. It manages to stay light and comedic while addressing issues that are more serious (body image, relationship breakdown, career issues, etc…)
Overall, an enjoyable read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was amazing! I love how it held the perfect balance of romantic comedy and women's empowerment but also focused on the insecurities normal sized women deal with. It was fun, uplifting, and entertaining!
i love the sexual tension and overall just all the tensions in general between emily and max. their endless jokes and shared laughs; along with emily fighting her insecurities and getting over them over time. Even to Ruby she is the best friend I wish I had to be honest, she’s probably one of the selfless I’ve ever read about. I do wish the love confessions were a bit later on in the book as it felt rushed, although quick love (love at first sight I should say) is real.
Such an easy and great read. It fulfilled my cruise ship love story fantasy. I can’t wait to read more by this author!
This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, from K.J. Gillenwater and #NetGalley. Thank you for the opportunity to preview and review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.
Heartfelt, funny and entertaining characters.
thank you to the publisher and netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review
a great twist on a traditional romance, this fun story of a revenge romance is cute and fun to read
Join Ruby and Emily on their adventure to enjoy their revenge cruise and possibly some romance on deck!
Such a good read that you will not be able to put down!
I really enjoyed this romance. I thought this was such a different spin on the normal day to day romances. I love the rom com feel that it gave off. This story was such a fun and quick read. I really love the heroine in the book and she was very relatable. This is my first book by this author and I loved it. I can't wait to read more from her.
Overall: Fun, Sexy, Travel, Rom Com
Revenge Honeymoon was a cute story, but I feel like the story progressed too fast. Maybe I'm cynical about love at first sight, but the couple seemed to jump to I love yous pretty quickly. I also didn't really like how much Emily was stuck in her head. Felt like the ramblings didn't always need to be there. It was an okay read, but left me feeling like something was missing.
