What a great start to a new series! Designed by Destiny is the first book in the Fairy Godmothers Incorporated series by Maya Tyler. Designed by Destiny introduces us to some new and great characters as well as a brand new world with a little bit of drama with a faked marriage and a fairy godmother who is a matchmaker.
Nicholas Grey is a bachelor and the CEO of the architecture firm Grey & Company. Nick’s job is on the line. In order to save his job he must land a huge project. Nick is given the impression that if he has a stable home life, he just might be awarded the project. Nick must think fast if he is to impress his client and land the job.
The only thing Nick can manage to come up with on the spur of the moment is that he has a fiance` which of course he does not. Now Nick has put himself in a predicament, to say the least. Now he has to find a woman that will be willing to pose as his fake fiance` which of course he does.
Nick asks Bethany Clarke an architect intern at his firm Grey & Company. Surprisingly Beth says yes. Beth makes a spur-of-the-moment decision herself when she agrees to be Nick’s fake fiance`.
As all readers of Designed by Destiny know by now is that Beth begins to wonder if she has made the right decision to be Nick’s fake fiance`. Beth is beginning to question why she ever decided to become someone's fake fiance`. Beth had sworn off men the day she broke it off with her ex-boyfriend.
But after a night out on the town with their potential new client, Beth and Nick wake up the next morning in bed together and married. Beth is like what did I do. After giving it some thought she vaguely remembers the night before and being married by, Elvis! What are they going to do now? Will this marriage gain them a new project? Will this new project be worth it? Well, hopefully, it will, right?
Designed by Destiny was a fun and cozy little romance that hooked me from the first page. Oh, I was hooked alright. I kept wondering what kind of person this Nick character was to pull a stunt like that. But then on the other hand I kept thinking the same thing about Beth too. So, I had to keep reading at this point to see who these two characters were and how they were going to deal with it all. What was the real reason behind Nick choosing Beth? What was the reason behind Beth agreeing to such a preposterous idea in the first place? Or was it a preposterous idea?

This is a good book. The two main characters are Beth and Nick. Beth and Nick architects. They work for the company that Nick’s family owns. Nick needs Beth to be his fake engaged girlfriend, while they are in Las Vegas for a convention. While there they decide to get married. They both have issue it together they work them out and fall in love.
Thank you Tirgearr Publishing and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I liked the accidental marriage trope in this, and I loved the FMC. However, the hero was a bit of a dimwit and I didn't like him at all. He was pushy and slow, just slow.
What I don't like is that storyline with Faye? What in the world? It was totally unnecessary and out of nowhere, and absolutely weird.
Overall, it was a good attempt at fake arrangement/marriage.
ARC Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley and publisher. Fake marriage, fairy godmother, and a happy ending round out this book from Maya Tyler. Stubborn Nicholas brings the hotness factor up to 3.
This book was all I needed in a 'Fake Marriage' Trope. I have always enjoyed reading this trope. In this book I feel in love with Fairy Godmother.
NICHOLAS GREY - He needed a wife to crack the deal in his business and his CEO post was shaking. He stole my heart the moment he decided to start his own firm... Definitely my boy needed that with an immature mom. 'That's my WIFE you're talking about' moments just gave me goosebumps. He truly loved Bethany Clare. Even though their relationship were suffering downs I enjoyed reading him run behind her. Not to forget he was also there at her worse waiting for her to come back to him.
BETHANY CLARE - She's such an independent girl who truly lives for her self respect. As like most of them she also had a huge crush on Nicholas lucky for her their feelings were mutual. I enjoyed reading how cleaver she was and how she didn't rely on the other. My girl even took a bullet for her man☺️ Would have loved to see more about her relationship with her mom.
Faye... Fairy Godmother is such a great start for this 'FAIRY GODMOTHERS INCORPORATED' Series and I'm already curious to meet the next couple.
Tropes:-
Stubborn Hero
Sunshine Heroine
Fake marriage
Las Vegas
Architecture couple
This story wasn't much spicy to a erotic trope lover like me but I would accept that it still gave me a lot of butterflies 🦋
Thank you @mayatylerauthor
I completely lost myself inside this book and here's my honest review @netgalley
The eArc of this book was appreciated. I think that this story had great potential. I do think that the magical aspect of it could have more of a backstory so that readers could learn more about the faeries. Also, I found that the interactions between the two main characters could have been fleshed out more in order to solidify their relationship. I do look forward to more future work from this author.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Tirgearr Publishing for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Ok, I didn't get it-what is the deal with the fairy godmothers? Does this stuff happen? It was sort of cute but so so odd. Pretty unbelievable. 3.5 stars
This had potential for me because I love matchmaking and fake marriage troupes, but sadly this fell short for me. I couldn't wait to see how the Fairy God Mothers played out and how they would assist Bethany and Nick and their fake marriage. I do appreciate the author giving us some of the back story regarding the the Fairies and their powers. I just wanted more romance and a happily ever after for Bethany and Nick. This was a 3.5 for me.
