If I should Die.
Another superb read from an amazing Author. Anna Smith has been a favorite author for many many years. I love each and everyone of her books that I have read. This authors work is never disappointing.
A gripping and tense story line that keeps you gripped from page one.
Billie Carlson is a PI. asked to aid in a suspicious death. The death of a friend.
While also battling her own demons Carlson throws everything she can at this case.
I can highly recommend this authors work. I have no issues in giving the full 5 stars it deserves.
Anna you have done it again great storyline gripped from the beginning to the end can’t wait to find out what happens next keeps you on the edge brilliant
Omg what a thrill of a read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Twisty and full of suspence. I was on the edge of my seat. Gripped from start to finish. Read in one sitting. Couldn't put it down. Definitely recommend. 5*
This is the second book in this fabulous series , all of Anna’s books are really good reads I have loved them all but I think this is my favourite series. The story is about Billie , a former cop turned private investigator, when she hears of a young girls suicide that she knew from her past she starts to look into it and discovers that thing’s definitely don’t add up, there is also the ongoing story of her missing son that she’s desperately trying to find. All in all a brilliant book and I’m looking forward to the next one.
This is the second book of the series. Mystery thriller with a number of twists keeps you reading until the very end. Interesting characters. I will look for other books written by this author.
If I should die by Anna Smith.

I do recommend you read the first book in the Billie Carlson series called "Until I Find You" which was another 5 star book. This book gives you a good introduction into the Billie life being a Private investigator and a retired police officer..
This is book two in the billie Carson series and I would recommend you read book 1 first so that you get to know the characters.
This book is fast paced and gritty, I love all Anna smiths books, but this series is my favourite so far.
Stunning writing, gritty plot, this has it all. Please note this is book 2 in the Billie Carlson series. I would highly recommend you read book one as it gives you a real introduction into the brilliant main character of Private investigator/ retired police officer Billie. The second book follows on with Billie’s personal story while introducing the reader to a new gritty mystery for her to solve.
I have to admit I am biased towards Anna Smith’s books, I absolutely loved the Rosie Gilmore series (I wish there more more!) and also the Kerry Casey books. I have yet to read a bad book.
I’d like to thank Quercus Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘If I Should Die’, the second in the Billie Carlson series written by Anna Smith, in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Private Investigator Billie Carlson has a phone call from an old friend living in Sweden, Lars Eriksson, whose sister Astrid has been found dead in woods in Thurso where she’d been studying. The police say it’s suicide so she promises Lars that she’ll investigate but soon finds herself caught up with drug smuggling and corruption. Meanwhile, Billie continues to search in Cleveland USA for her three-year-old son Lucas who was taken away by her ex-husband.
I didn’t believe ‘If I Should Die’ could be any better than the first book in the series but how wrong can I be? This is an exceptionally gripping thriller with tense nail-biting action, suspense, drama and twists and turns, and with so many fantastic characters that I was completely caught up in them and their parts in the story. Billie is amazing, feisty, hard-working and caring, who throws herself into situations regardless of how she’s endangering her life, and there’s Millie her ‘front-of-house’ lady who manages the office, who’s just perfect. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading this book that’s been written by an extremely talented author and when I reached the final chapter I couldn’t believe it was ending. There’s such a dramatic cliff-hanger on the final pages that I wanted more and am waiting for the next instalment with great anticipation. I can wholeheartedly recommend this thriller and would willingly give it ten stars if I could.

This is the 2nd book in the Billie Carlson series. The book pick up, right after the first one ended.
Billie is ex police but left and is now a private detective in Glasgow. She has her own things going in as well. Her ex husband took their son to America. She is hoping to be able to find him, with the help of a private detective over there!
I absolutely love the character of Billie. She is such a strong and able person but we also get to see the vulnerable side of her also.
That ending though Anna - seriously I was like “nooooo it can’t end there!!”
If you love a gritty crime book - this
Series for you!

This is the first book I have read in this series but am looking forward now to the next instalment. Plenty of suspense to keep me gripped. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.
Omg I can't wait for the next book . Please get Lucas back to his mom . What a fantastic read from Anna Smith . This is a must read book absolutely brilliant.
This is a very exciting read in the Billie Carlson series, filled with action and suspense. It hooked me in from the beginning, right until the final words in the last chapter. I love the character of Billie, strong, determined and principled, desperate to find her son who is missing in the US. The different threads in the book worked really well, as did the settings of different countries and the pacing was good throughout. An excellent addition to the series which fans will love and I highly recommend. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.
Would really highly recommend this book as a must read. It was such a fantastic psychological thriller with lots of twists and turns and such good mystery read with such a great story and so well written that I could not leave it down. It had very interesting characters and so well written.
Billy Carson is living close to the edge again when she takes on a job to find our what happened to Astrid Eriksson in the Highlands. A student who is mysteriously found dead. As usual she rustles feathers trying to find the truth.
A tip off of where her son Lucy's is takes Billy to the states. Will she finally be reunited with her son. The suspense in this book is unreal and the ending.....to say I'm not happy is an understatement as I need to know what happens next.
If i should die is a blinding book and a great read a rollercoaster with plenty of twists and turns.
Di billie carlson is in cleveland ohio in search of her son lucas but it is a dead end or is it ?
she returns to glasglow and threws herself into walk an old friend from sweden lars rings her up with terrible news his sister has died in the highlands in mysterious circumstances the police thinks it is suicide lars does not accept this and billie and lars team up to investigate..
I highly reccommnd this book please preorder thankyou netgallery for giving me this oppertunity to read it.
This is indeed a gritty thriller as promised and I loved getting to know the characters and their own stories, even as I was immersed in the plot of this book alone. I think reading the other books in the series will add value to readers so not sure this is best appreciated if read as a stand alone novel.
A big fan of Anna Smith, so obviously enjoyed this book.
Main character good and look forward to more of her in the future as I am sure there will be.
If you haven’t read any of Anna Smith’s book before, you are missing out.
