A twisty, turny rollercoaster of a ride. The multiple pov gave the novel a lot of depth and the characters were written superbly. I was rooting for both Lee and Hazel and loved knowing what each one was thinking even when it was so skewed. Action packed and emotional, it is a must read.

This took me a while to get through but once I did, I couldn't put it down. Witty without trying to hard and engaging even when things are slow. Unexpectedly became a comfort book while I was taking the journey though this world

The two characters in the book were well written by the author. Their character developments and how it really goes on smoothly with the plot.
A heart wrenching story that will get your attention. There are inevitable plot holes but I just overlook it because mystery/thriller novels always has them anyway.

This one started out slowly for me, but once the plot got going, it sucked me in! I loved not only the development of the characters, but the twists all throughout the story. I will definitely be looking into more from this author.

Lee is down on her luck, homeless and living in her car, when a chance encounter changes her life forever. Early one morning on a beach near an upscale neighborhood, Lee saves Hazel from drowning herself. The two women start seeking each other out and strike up an unlikely friendship. One day, Hazel asks Lee for a huge favor – she wants to escape her abusive husband and she needs Lee to help her disappear. Lee agrees, thinks she’s helping a friend in danger, but not everything is as it seems, and the women find themselves in situations they never saw coming.

“The Drowning Woman” is a twisty thriller about friendship, manipulation, and deception. We get both Lee’s and Hazel’s equally compelling perspectives, and each switch between them will have you questioning everything you thought you knew. I was rooting for Lee the entire time, but Hazel’s sections are crazy twisty and engaging too. The second half of the book is non-stop action, and it kept me hooked right up until the surprising and gratifying conclusion.

If you want a book that will keep you guessing, and have you on the edge of your seat...this is it. I had so much fun reading this book, and didn't want to put it down. I really enjoyed the way the story builds and just sucks you in. I was thinking about this book for days after I finished it, and can't wait to recommend this to all of my friends! Five stars from me!

Wow this book hooked me from the moment I started reading. The book takes place in a post COVID world, where we meet a woman named Lee who lost her restaurant due to the struggles of COVID. Now that she's isolated and homeless, we follow her journey as she navigates this new time in her life. She very early on saves a woman who is trying to drown herself in the ocean to escape her marriage. The two become unlikely friends. We follow both women in different parts of the book. So many twists and turns that left me wanting to know what happens next. I highly, highly recommend adding this to your TBR list!

And as we slowly begin to button our pants from Thanksgiving we are now thrust into some much needed Holiday cheer 🌲

11/28 has snuck up on me quickly. I had set out a goal to read 50 books in 30 days. Although I did not achieve 50, I am lingering around the 42 mark with 3 full reading days left.

It’s ok I suppose, I was too busy enjoying family to read so I guess I can cut myself some slack.

I started reading The Drowning Woman, Sunday morning and I knew I was back on my game. There would be no football for the day because I knew this book had just taken a strong hold on any attention span I might have had left.

When you read as much as we all do the plots can sometimes mush together. I constantly have to ask myself “did I read this one yet”. Well, there will be no forgetting this one. The lovely Harding has done it again. This book is sure to knock the socks off any thrill seeker and packs a punch with a gasp worthy ending.

Told between two different points of view, Lee and Hazel, we get two totally different sides to the story, both equally as engaging. There was zero time to catch my breath before being thrown into another plot twist.

I love a book that can keep me on my toes and make it hard to resist putting down. After concluding (in one sitting) I was so eager to talk about this book and I was super grateful to have buddy read this one with a friend as we both couldn't contain our excitement to chat about it.

Im a huge fan of Robyn Harding and have read everything published to date. After concluding each book I always say "this is my favorite Harding book" buttttt I honestly believe The Drowning Woman, is my favorite (for now). I am super excited to see what Harding will publish next and I would strongly recommend everyone to pre-order this show stopper!

Wow! As someone who is a thriller, mystery and psychological suspense aficionado, this one hit the ball right out of the park. There may have been romance but this book kept me on my toes and you should have seen my face when I reached the twist at the end. I was shook! Bravo Jeneva! This is my first book by J but it won't be my last.

Just like all the other Robyn Harding books, I devoured this in one sitting.

I gasped. I tried to raise my eyebrows (thanks Botox 😂) I thought I had it all figured out but I was wrong. So wrong.

All I can say is this book was all kinds of what the hell! 🤯🤯🤯

Another winner from @rhardingwriter! I have loved every single one of her books!

When Lee, a homeless woman who has parked by a beach in a wealthy Seattle neighbourhood hears a woman cry out and then a splash, she quickly comes to the rescue of the drowning woman. Hazel, the wealthy woman, however is less than pleased that Lee interrupted her initially. The next day Hazel knocks on the window of Lee’s car and apologizes for the day before. The pair strike up a friendship and Hazel shares that she is wanting to escape from her abusive marriage. Hazel asks Lee to help her get away for good. That’s all you need to know going into this twisty story.

I was so absorbed in the story and then the author would change POVs at a climactic point and the first time it happened I yelled out. How could she do this? But trust Harding to know that she will do this to you a couple more times and each time you will be racing forward to find out what happened from the last person’s perspective and what is going to happen to the current POV’s character. It was so satisfying.

I am curious if the author got the idea for this book while researching her book, The Arrangement, as The Drowning Woman has a dynamic that might exist in the world explored in the previous book.

At no time did I put everything together and the ending was so perfect. There is so much I want to say but I don’t want to risk giving anything away. Put this book on your pre-order list for 2023!

Hokay, so while I enjoyed the dual povs of Lee and Hazel, and how they both tried to escape their situations I was kinda disappointed at the dude's involvement. Frankly, he wasn't compelling enough for me to believe that he could get both of these reasonably intelligent women to not only trust him, but go along with his plans.

I did really enjoy the ending though. They deserved it.

WoW! Talk about plot twists! I was hooked on this book from the first page. Lee is struggling after losing her business after the pandemic. She moves out west in search of a new life after burning many bridges in NYC.
She is living homeless out of her car and decides a safer place to sleep would be more beneficial. Locating her vehicle to a wealthier part of town, this is where she encounters a drowning woman where she then saves her life. Things seem to finally be falling into place for Lee. She has a job, she has a friend that she feels she can count on, and she finds a sweet boy who seems to have a genuine interest in her. That is until her new friend asks her to help her escape her husband, which then spirals into a path of destruction.
I loved that it gives a perspective into a homeless woman's life. I have never read a book with that subject before and helped me develop some empathy for homelessness. It also was just a huge page turner! I couldn't put it down until I found out what was going to happen next. It's been quite some time since I read a Harding book. I was pleasantly surprised by how hooked I was!. The first part with Lee was gripping, anxiety provoking and gritty. She was so easy to root for and I immediately had suspicions about Jesse. Then when the first twist at the end of part one. HOLY SMOKES. I literally said out loud. WHAT. Then, getting part two with Hazel. More freaking twists. I do wish we got more focus on the development with her husband before she truly understood he was a villain. I definitely hated him, but I felt like more character development and historical background with him could have made him a truly despicable character to hate. Jesse on the other hand....wow. That was crafted perfectly. I felt like Hazel was taken advantage of by her lawyer, I really did not like that woman. She was Judgy McJudgerson. All in all. I really really enjoyed this book!. It kept me hooked, I loved the format and dual POV. The twists were ongoing and blew me away.

When Lee, a former restauranteur , loses everything and has to go on the lam, she meets Hazel, a wealthy women she finds attempting suicide, while sleeping in her car. When Hazel and Lee connect, Lee tries to help Hazel escape her own situation, but the question remains: will two drowning women save one another, or pull each other deeper down? I read through this quickly, eager to know what would happen next, and to unravel the intricate webs of connection and deception between the characters.

I honestly expected a little bit more from this book, but it was still a pretty good read! I’ll still recommend.

Robyn Harding is one of my favourite authors. She is an incredibly gifted storyteller that always comes up with something fresh and different.

Told from alternating perspectives, THE DROWNING WOMAN is expertly plotted and totally binge-worthy. With all of its incredible twists and turns, I demolished this book in one sitting.

Pretty solid suspense/thriller about two women who's lives are thrown together in a plot filled with manipulation and betrayal. Who are they and what are they hiding? This book is all about the plot twists which elevates the suspense up a notch. I thought a lot of the storyline was original and well thought out, but the closer to the ending the more manic the characters, and even the plot, became. To some that can work in the book's favor, yet for me I felt the two women were hard to empathize with and it left the ending, for me, just ok. It is still a great thriller. Perfect for the beach.
