Her Worthy Rake was an okay Regency romance more at the bodice-ripper end of the scale. Although I liked Owen and Sophy in their own rights, I never really got caught up in their 'romance', which seemed to hinge almost entirely on lust. They didn't have long enough over the course of the story to really get to know one another outside of attraction. The storyline was interesting; although, I couldn't understand her brother's motivation in going AWOL from her. It made him rather contemptible in my view. A few minor things niggled at me at marginally anachronistic, but there were no major issues on that front. It was a pleasing enough book to spend a couple of nights with but was not one I'd rush to read a second time. As such, I am giving it three stars.
I have scheduled this review to go live on my blog on 13 December 2022 at the link provided below. At that time I will also update the review on Goodreads and share on social media.
This is a funny and generally engaging debut book. The pacing is a bit irregular at times, and I wasn't always sure I bought into the characters and their motives. But it was a relaxing weekend read.
2.5 Stars!! An okay book. It seemed to be slow in the beginning but was over super fast at the end. I kept getting confused with how things were written also. Basically the book didn’t flow very well and just dragged on at times. The fact that the main male character, Owen, was bi was an unnecessary detail due to the fact that it pertained to nothing in the book and could’ve been left out. Oh and also - I don’t care what you’re dealing with, let your twin sister know what’s going on and that you are still alive. It’s just common decency. I don’t think Sophy’s brother got enough backlash for how he handled things.

When I thought I had everything figured out, I was completely surprised at the outcome. I really enjoyed this story.
