Don't You Forget About Me is a very interesting second chance romance. This is a second chance romance with angst. The intensity between these two the second they see each other again has my heart leaping out of my chest. I couldn’t help fall for king because his heart was in the right place but I still wanted to scream at him. I read this book so quickly and hoping book three comes out soon. I highly recommend this book and this series. It has all the emotion you need when reading a romance book.
I didn’t like this one and that’s unfortunate because I really wanted to. Everything about this story to me was kinda all over the place. I’m a person who loves when MMC’s gravel, and there pretty much was none before she was just back with him. And since it’s duel POV we (the audience) knew the circumstances surrounding him leaving all those years ago, and it’s a good reason, but she doesn’t. So seeing her get right back with him after 10 years apart, not being together for that long back then, and her getting no graveling, explanation, and he continues to lie to her about his reasons for leaving her 10 years ago with out a word the romance didn’t make much sense.
It's no secret that I'm a super fan of Naima Simone. Her writing is intense, captivating, and she always delivers an amazing and romantic story line. Don't You Forget About Me was all of that and more
King and Lennon's tumultuous second chance journey was full of joy and pain. Their love story was intense, raw and full of angst. I loved it!!

It was an enjoyable and quick read. There was a concerning thought I had about the FMC character, but the author explained it right after the scene happened. I'm not normally a fan of rock star type of reads, but I did enjoy this one. It was a short, but good read.
Nice Novella but nothing exceptionnal.
At the end I had the feeling I had al ready read this king of story.
It is a good read if you have nothing else to read.
Don't You Forget About Me is a very interesting second chance romance. I didn't really read the blurb when I requested the book from Netgalley, I just clicked request because I love Naima Simone. It's interesting too because I've read a lot of different book lengths from Simone, but this one felt like such a weird length to me. I think Simone did a lot in these pages (156) and on the one hand I absolutely loved all that she did and on the other hand, I want a 500 page book from Simone because I think she could actually make use of all of those pages.
Anyway, Don't You Forget About Me features a rock star (King) who left behind the love of his life (Lennon) without a word many years ago. Now, King is back, with a child from a woman he doesn't really remember, and Lennon is not prepared to see him. While I really liked the romance aspect of this book, Lennon's father is terrible and I... was sort of struggling with that aspect of the book. This is part of why I think if there were more pages, I would have done better with the book because if the dynamic was a little more fleshed out, I either would have been more sympathetic or I would have DNF'd it. So... YMMV, but Naima Simone definitely delivered on the spice, as always!
Ironically, I felt like this book was just kind of forgettable. There wasn't much for me to latch onto to, the characters were just kind of meh.
Steamy and heartwrenching, the perfect combination! A second chance romance between two high school sweethearts that will make you feel all the feels.
Thank you #netgalley for an early read of #dontyouforgetaboutme
Short and sweet but angsty and lovely read!
I love how author Naima Simone writes, the storyline and characters were great! This was a quick read and Lennon and King's romance and situation was angsty. I wish this were a longer book because there was a lot involved with this book, that could have been extended and more detailed.
I enjoyed this one and would recommend it!.
While I will always love a Naima Simone book, this one didn’t sit quite right with me. I had a lot of issues with Lennon’s relationship with her father and struggle with that entire side of this novella. This novella was significantly heavier than I expected, but not unusually for Simone. I still enjoyed this thoroughly and the sex between Lennon and King melted my kindle.
Don’t You forget About Me is the second book in the Love On The Radio series, and King and Lennon’s story.
Lennon was in love with King and planned to run away with him when she graduated high school but King disappeared. He’s back now after ten years. He’s a recovering addict and a single father. He also a super rich rock star. Lennon is angry and hurt but she and King eventually pick up where they left off. Low and behold, the reason for King’s leaving comes out and devastates Lennon.
This was a short, quick read and while I mostly enjoyed it, I also felt like it was missing something.
This book was short and sweet but yet it was full of amazing chemistry. I loved this book and I would definitely read some more books by this author.
This is definitely my favourite book by the author. It is so good. Lennon and King are just so amazing and so hot together. Their story is on the shorter side but still, it has everything you need in a romance and it doesn't lack anything. The characters and the storyline are well-written and developed. I really enjoyed their story.
Don’t You Forget About Me by Naima Simone was the shortest second romance I’ve ever read.
I kinda loved it though since I have so many other books to read for next week & I was anxious to get started on them so this was such a good in between two longer books kinda read. I do adore the second chance trope so I loved that it just wrapped it all so quickly and effortlessly with minimal drama.
Thanks so much to @netgalley & @oliverheberbooks for sending me an e-galley of this one for review!
The writing in this book isn't for me. It was so long-winded and I was always aware that I am reading a book instead of following a story and feeling the world and the characters. The second chance aspect on King and Lennon's relationship was okay. It gave what it needed to give, but nothing more exciting or angsty. The prologue is a collection of emails and I cringe at all of them because those sounds more of a main character's monologue than actual emails you sent to people. Overall, I don't think Naima Simone's writing style is for me. This is probably my last book of hers that I'm going to read.
3.75stars-DON’T YOU FORGET ABOUT ME by Naima Simone is a stand alone, contemporary, adult rock romance story line focusing on thirty year old, disgraced rock star King Sullivan, and twenty-eight year old, primary school teacher Lennon Ward.
Told form dual first person perspectives (Lennon and King) DON’T YOU FORGET ABOUT ME is a second chance romance focusing on thirty year old, disgraced rock star King Sullivan, and twenty-eight year old, primary school teacher Lennon Ward. Ten years earlier, on the day of her high school graduation, Lennon’s heart was destroyed when the boy that she loved, left without looking back. What ensues is the rekindling romance and relationship between King and Lennon, and the potential fall-out when Lennon must face the ultimate betrayal when the truth is revealed.
The relationship between Lennon and King is one of second chances. King was forced out of town ten years earlier, and throughout the years, his lead the cliched life of a broken rock star. Now in recovery, King is hoping to reunite with the only woman he has ever loved but a woman who is struggling with what happened and why. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.
We are introduced to King’s brother Leif, and his fellow band mates Kade, Mac and Gideon: Lennon’s father Judge Terrance Ward, and her ex boyfriend Justin.
DON’T YOU FORGET ABOUT ME is a fast paced, quick read focusing on secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control. The premise is emotional and revealing; the romance is seductive; the characters are determined and broken.

Such a great fast read.
I read it I. One go, couldn’t put it down.
I loved their chemistry and the secondary characters, who I hope get books of their own.
Lennon’s dad is a dick.
I received a copy via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Lennon and King deliver some mega feels and swoon as their second chance romance unfolds. Plenty of angst, drama, tension, heartache and intense emotion fuel this heart string tugging tale that has you actively rooting for this couple to get that HEA they deserve.
What an angsty yet engaging read! I love second chance romance. This did a good job of folding in family dynamics, small town gossips, recovery, and found family in a novella. The emails really set the scene for why Lennon reacted and responded the way that she did.
I love babies and kids in romance so I would have loved to have seen a bit more interaction between Lennon, King, and Gunner but that’s implied in the epilogue that they’re now one big happy family. Overall I enjoyed this and thank the publisher and Netglley for providing this eARC.
The angst in this book settles over you like a heavy fog, permeating to your very soul! The emails that start this book set the tone, and you feel the hope and love wither and die as a young girl’s heart shatters. A decade doesn’t dull that, and everything bubbles to the surface when they meet again, even the sizzling chemistry they can’t control. They were hot together and there was no way to contain that inferno. When it all splits open and the all truths are exposed, that heavy fog, it lifts, and it is only a matter of time, and back to the emails, before these two finally get their lives back on track. Loved it, loved it, loved it, and the song from the title aptly played in my head through it all <3
