Good News! It's Creation! by Glenys Nellist - Our Daily Bread for Kids Presents Board book
This book has amazing illustrations of God’s creation. I love the beautiful rhyming verses describing the Good News as seen in creation. This series is such a breath of fresh air compared to some of the children’s books I’ve seen recently. Gleny's Good News series should be a part of every child’s library.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Our Daily Bread Publishing for a free eARC of this book.
While the idea of the book was good and the illustrations are attractive, I was left with the feeling that something was missing. The story presented by the author did not start from the first day of creation. This left me with the feeling that I came in during the middle of the conversation. Therefore, I was disappointed.
As I would have preferred the author to present the entire story of creation, this is not a book I would recommend for personal use with children or even as I gift.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by the publisher and Net Galley but the thoughts expressed are my own.
Good News! It’s Creation! is a children’s book written by Glenys Nellist and illustrated by Lizzie Walkley.
This sweet little book, designed for ages 1-4, introduces children to the earth that God created. The rhyming patterns, beautiful illustrations, and gorgeous color combinations will draw little ones in, and teach them all about God’s creation.
My Thoughts: This book is so cute! I love the illustrations-they really are beautiful. This book would make an absolutely wonderful Christmas present for littles, or be great for a new baby gift.
My son (who is nine) even enjoyed the book-especially the cute little ants!
I would like to thank Our Daily Bread Publishing for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you!
This is a great book for children. It has beautiful illustrations and tells the story of creation.
This book and any book by Glenys Nellist would make a great gift for any child.
I received a complimentary copy from Our Daily Bread Publishing via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
To be quite fair, I'm an atheist, but this is a cute book to gift Christian parents. Religion aside, the illustrations are beautiful. So are the affirmations. I was a little triggered by the jellyfish, but that's another thing entirely.
Another delightfully cute little book you would enjoy reading to your kids anytime. It would bring a smile to your child’s face upon seeing the characters. They are quirky and fun, educative and enjoyable. It teaches about creation and how it all came about.
Good news! This book was absolutely lovely. Not only does it attest to the Creation story, but also shows how creation glorifies God. The illustrations were adorable. They were bright enough to keep my infant son engaged, but have so many animals, etc to keep his interest as he gets older too. The repetition of “Good News!” and rhymes on each page kept his interest and made it fun to read. And I love the idea of him learning these easy worshipful sayings that we can easily use in our everyday lives even as he’s so young. I already have another Good News book on the way because I enjoyed this one so much.
Good News! It's Creation! is such a wonderful book for children, going through the creation story. The illustrations are just so sweet and wonderful, and the story is very good as well.
I loved the images in this book, they were stunning!
I like the rhyming nature of the book and thought it was a great way to tell the story of creation. My daughter is 5 and has been learning about this at school so it was a hit with her, she goes to our local Catholic Primary school and is really enjoying learning the RE side.
It is 5 stars from me for this one, perfect for children right from a very young age.
I thought it was a fab little book! Very highly recommended!
What a cute book about god’s love for everyone and what he has created for all of his children! I loved this one and will be purchasing as gifts for my niece and nephew! Thanks netgalley for the advanced copy.
Another lovely children's book from Glenys Nellist. She is quickly becoming a favourite author for toddlers/preschoolers. I look forward to checking out more of her work.
