A quick, easy and funny read full of sarcastov wit and sass. The writing made me laugh out loud at times and there were some heartfelt moments too that I appreaciated. I enjoyed it.

First of all: WOW! I loved this book. From the very beginning, I was pulled in by the main character, Skye. I felt as if I had a character to relate to. I did not want it to end! I highly recommend to anyone that enjoys reading RomComs!! Matthew and Skye are just *chefs kiss*!

Loved! The humor is so fun and the emotional complexity between the characters sucked me in. Really enjoyed watching their relationship develop and being in Skye’s artistic mind. Made me want to get out some paints!.

Super cute, modern, emotionally charged romance. Such a great cast of lovely friends and sisters, a couple of irritations and a couple that I was desperate for them to make it. The baggage Skye has is huge and not opening up gives her and Matthew huge hurdles to clamber over. The art backdrop is fabulous as are the painting titles. One to laugh and cry whilst reading..

Thank you to Netgalley and Magnamour Press for a copy of this book. Skye is an adorable introvert who meets extrovert Matt on a bumpy plane ride. Meet-cute to the tenth degree! I found myself giggling while reading this book and even snort-laughed a few times! Skye has a way with words and is a cute, clumsy mess! (But in a good way). Matt is believed to be a player and Skye is unwilling and afraid to trust him. Is he too good to be true? I enjoyed this book the whole way through and believe you will too!

Writing a quick review since this will be released Monday…to put it simply, I didn’t want to put this book down! Great dialogue, character development, chemistry…the list goes on. A truly enjoyable read that put a big smile on my face. Being an introvert married to an extrovert, I felt and related to all of the emotions that Kelsey Humphreys gave us in Things I Should Have Said. I think most rom-com fans will devour this book!

In this book, introverted Skye meets extroverted Matt on an airplane. She’s not looking for love but in this sunshine meets grumpy book full of banter, family drama, and real life issues, she may get the happy ending she thinks doesn’t exist after all.

I was expecting a typical romantic comedy when I picked up this book, but I was blown away by all of the issues that Skye faced. She was actually depicted as a real life person who had a real life problems. As a real life introvert myself, I could relate to a lot of what she was feeling. I could make that connection. It was amazing to see the journey that Skye went on throughout this book and how she fought to get where she ended up at the end. Was she perfect? Of course not. But the author understood the character and that was what was important.

Matt was the epitome of an extrovert and was exhausting at times. However, he excepted Skye as she was and never tried to change her. He applauded her and her accomplishments. For that, I was definitely pulling for these two.

Thanks to NetGalley and Magnamour for this ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

In some ways I thought this book was a delight. I really loved the banter. But in other parts I was a little underwhelmed. The klutziness felt a little over done and some of the second hand embarrassment I had just felt uncomfortable. I also had a hard time suspending disbelief for the love connection. Felt a little "insta" love for me. The grand gesture was sweet. I probably will not continue the series.

As far as spice, this novel is "cracked door" at best.

Not the kind of romance I was expecting, it was better! Plenty of plot balanced with the romance. I can’t wait for my friends to get to read it.

I found the first third of this book hilariously swoony that's why I kept going.

Well, until I got to the second third which bogged me down a bit. I'm extremely introverted myself and I can truly relate with Skye's peopling struggles. However, her character got a bit overwhelming with all her clumsiness, anxieties, hot mess and penchant for miscommunication. I appreciated that she works on herself, though, and how non-linear her progress could be.

I also did enjoy her and Matt's relationship, and how Matt gets and sees her. I just wish I could've seen more nuance to Matt's character as well, more than just being the cinnamon roll love interest.

I loved the grand gesture towards the end and I took pleasure in this enough to keep me interested in Humphreys' other works.

Grateful to NetGalley, Magnamour, and the author for providing me my early copy. All opinions are honest and my own.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book!!

Let me start with the main take-home from this book: I FEEL SEEN. If you’re the type of person who is an introvert and finds social engagement and unwelcome chit-chat draining, then this one is for you!! Skye is us!

This book tells the story of introvert, Skye Canton, who, despite her best efforts to not socialise, meets Matt James on a flight home. After providing her with some comforting support and (briefly) getting to know each other, Matt shows up at Skye’s art show- something even her boyfriend of two years has not done. While finding his moves extremely triggering (hello toxic ex!), Skye attempts to give the outgoing, social butterfly a chance. Things I Should Have Said is a refreshing take on the dynamics of introvert-extrovert relationships, not only between lovers, but family and friends as well.

So, how did I felt represented, without giving too much away; needing time away from people to recharge, needing other people around to form a buffer so that you can become a wallflower, struggling to communicate this with people who fall to the more extrovert side of the scale because it’s a feeling that’s not easy to describe. I particularly loved that the book depicted introverts as the opposite of what society has painted us to be; fragile, cold, snobbish.. you get the picture. Kelsey did an amazing job at illustrating the thought process behind our actions.

I also love that, instead of being a slow burn novel with the end-goal being the main characters finally going on a date or some kind of smutty scene, this book tells the story of what it’s like to date while having personalities that are in opposition. Most importantly, it tells the story of navigating these differences to find common ground (if possible), while highlighting the insecurities that many introverts have during that process. The book demonstrates the ebb and flow of relationships and how you can be ridiculously head-over-heels one moment, and insanely hurt the next.

Given these points, and given how well the book is written, it gets 10/10 on my personal scale of “character development” and “storyline”. I don’t remember the last time I laughed as loud and consistently because of a book. Whether its Skye’s insane awkwardness (again, hard relate) or the witty comments by all characters, Kelsey delivered each line with brilliance. This doesn’t take away from the depth of the story though. I still found myself swooning some moments, and heartbroken at others. At times, I was concerned with the pacing, but then I’d get to a point in the storyline where I’d realise that every part of the storyline serves a purpose. Quite honestly, I can’t wait to hear the story of Skye’s sister Sam, which I understand should be coming out soon.

Thank you NetGalley!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Love, love love this book. Such a great romantic comedy. I laughed, I cried, and I couldn't put the book down. Any time that I had the book out I didn't want to put it down. If I could have spent a whole day reading it I would have.

The character development was amazing, not to fast and not to slow, just the perfect amounts of growth within each chapter.

10/10 recommend!

Thanks to Kelsey and NetGalley for the ARC of this book!!
Skye is as introverted as it gets. She is living in New York working on her art. Matt is an outgoing people person working in the city.

I friken ADORED this book!! You got romance and comedy. And I mean COMEDY! I laughed so much through this entire book. Being an introvert myself, I was dying with Skye’s internal overthinking. It was so accurate… us over thinkers are a bit nuts 😂

Aside from being the best comedy filled romance I have read this year, the story itself was so great. Matt was so lovable and Skye was so awkward but gosh did they mesh well. The way Matt let her be who she was and their sweet interactions. I had to force myself not to blow through this book because I wanted to live in this world as long as possible.

This book had me blushing and crying laughing. I mean, that epilogue, come on!! I can’t recommend it enough if you like romcoms!
The only thing I don’t like about this book is that we have to wait to get more from the Canton sisters!

Kelsey Humphreys is a new author to me, and I'm her latest fan! I really enjoyed this book, and not just because I, as a person on the more extreme end of the introvert/extrovert scale, could truly relate to Skye. Among other things, her need for alone time was very understandable to me! Some will say her comments about the other women in Matthew’s life were misogynistic, but I think she was just really insecure. Speaking of Matthew, he was the perfect match for her, and I loved their banter. Yes, the big surprise and the ending were a little predictable to me, but I eagerly took the journey to get there. I also always appreciate a heartfelt groveling, and this one was especially meaningful. I loved the sisters’ relationships with each other, and I’m looking forward to Sam’s book, and eventually (hopefully) stories for Sadie and Sally too!

I LOVED this! It was so much fun and as an introvert, SO relatable. I was laughing out loud and falling in love with this couple. The sassy banter was so fun and this was true opposites attract. I haven't read anything by this author and now I can't wait to devour her backlist.

I mostly liked this opposites attract rom-com, the first book by Kelsey Humphreys that I have read. Most of the banter was genuinely funny, and you can genuinely feel the characters' emotions in the sadder or more serious scenes. Skye, an introvert with extreme social anxiety, falls for Matthew, who is very much an extrovert. The insta-love did seem a bit unbelievable, as did Skye's two-week turnaround at the book's end. I also did not love how Skye constantly cuts down other women. I understand the author likely wanted to show Skye's insecurity but it also made her seem petty and a bit immature. Matthew was lovely if a bit eager and I would have liked more than one chapter from his POV. The big obstacle was obvious early on, but the reveal scene was quite funny.

Overall a decent effort, and I would be interested in reading the next entry in the series. Anyone else think Emerson is destined to end up with one of the Canton sisters?

There were a few typos and grammatical errors. The most glaring was at the end of the book - the throwback to the book's title has a very obvious and (to me) jarring typo, The rest were not so bad. 2.5 stars, rounded up.

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for an ARC of this book. The opinions herein are my own.

As an introvert I’ve never related to a character as much as I did with Skye. And let me tel you I couldn’t stand her because we were so alike. It’s really not easy to be an introvert with a bad social anxiety.

I loved how realistic this book was about extrovert/ introvert relationships. It showed us every possible way what it’d be like and I was delighted even when I was pissed of with Skye. Matt character as an extrovert was so real, he was so understanding and chill about Skye and now I’m just like… When is it my chance to find my Matthew who will tolerate my introvert rudeness and shyness PLUS my social anxiety?

And now. Hi God, it’s me
Again.

Thank you to Netgalley for the arc🤍

I have a lot of opinions about this book; there were parts I liked and parts I didn't. The insta-love was my "major" Problem, and as a result, the primary characters initially lacked some chemistry. I just didn't get the spark that Sky and Matt ought to have since everything felt a little forced. Everyone enjoys romances because they have a spark, right? There was simply not enough time for the chemistry to develop because everything happened so quickly. The chemistry was eventually present, but it ought to have been there earlier rather than later.
Certain scenes in this book, especially those in the beginning, had a forced sense to them, and not much actually transpired.

this is a really cute story, well crafted and written well, despite the incredible amount of exclamation points the author uses in her dialogue. All the females in the story speak in exclamation points, especially sister Samantha and after a while, it was a little obnoxious.

SKye is an artist. Matt does something with numbers th0 he never really tells her what. They meet on a plane at an instant attraction brews.

Skip ahead a few months and he attends one of her showings, where the sparks are still flying and soon they begin a friendship/dating relationship.

It's all put to the test when each one of them learns something about the other that they failed to mention.
No spoilers, but the title of the book is perfect. And there are a few absolutely hysterical scenes involving Skye's clumsiness.

Not a bad read.
